Reincarnation Paradise Park

Chapter 816: Chapter 47: Differences

Judging by the current situation, the outcome of the battle between the Contractors of both sides is hard to predict.

Although the Contractors of Reincarnation Paradise are all exceptionally ruthless, faced with the harsh survival environment of Reincarnation Paradise, the Contractors either go solo or form adventure groups, making it impossible to establish a super large organization.

Moreover, most adventure groups are not large in number; a small adventure group might have only a few or a dozen people, and even a large adventure group rarely exceeds three hundred members.

This is related to the character of the Contractors in Reincarnation Paradise, where the strong survive and the weak perish. Although powerful Contractors emerge one after another, the number of casualties is also high. In such survival conditions, the chances of conflict among Contractors are greater, making the formation of large groups even less likely.

In Reincarnation Paradise, forced execution punishments are routine, while attribute deduction punishments are even more common. To survive in such an environment, even if not abnormally strong, one’s willpower is unyielding. After all, there’s always the risk of dying, and those with poor psychological resilience have been eliminated early in their first few Derivative Worlds.

However, while strong individuals are cultivated, many ordinary Contractors perish early.

Like now, 725 Contractors from the Reincarnation Paradise side are alive, whereas 985 Contractors from the Apocalypse Paradise side are surviving.

It’s not that the Contractors of Reincarnation Paradise lack strength, but they’re too scattered. Most of the dead are Lone Rangers, while everyone on the Apocalypse Paradise side belongs to one organization. Thus, the survival number is high.

Of course, having more people isn’t necessarily an advantage. In a 1V1 situation, with the same attributes and abilities, the Contractors of Apocalypse Paradise might not match the Contractors of Reincarnation Paradise because Apocalypse Paradise’s methods of training Contractors are relatively mild and don’t easily resort to forced execution punishments.

Among the 725 surviving Contractors from the Reincarnation Paradise side, there are 8 adventure groups, including 7 Medium-Sized Adventure Groups and 1 Large Adventure Team; the rest are Loners.

No one on the Reincarnation Paradise side can integrate these Contractors, not even the Fire Mage; he can at most act as a leader.

The Apocalypse Paradise side is different; they’re a unit, and Shell is their leader.

Looking at it this way, the Reincarnation Paradise side seems no match for the Apocalypse Paradise side, but is that really the case? Only after a confrontation can it be determined.

However, among the Contractors of Reincarnation Paradise side, at least one in ten is mentally abnormal. The other nine aren’t much better either, just relatively more normal.

It’s a team composed of crazies + neurotics + pre-crazy reserves + ruthless ’normal people’; who knows what insane things these people might do. Not even the ordinary Contractors of Apocalypse Paradise, not even Shell, can fully predict.

...

One of the three war zones, Audre Fortress.

Bang, bang, bang...

The sound of an Iron Hammer reverberated from the stone house in the fortress. A Contractor from Reincarnation Paradise sat on the eastern edge of the fortress, a cliff of several hundred meters below, but the Contractor was indifferent.

”Potato, is that thing done yet?”

”Almost.”

A slightly impatient voice came from inside the stone house.

”Potato, why not just throw that thing into the Headquarters of the Tribal Army; it’ll surely kill quite a few.”

The Contractor sitting by the cliff raised his head, not knowing what he was looking at.

”You’re insane... Has your brain been eroded by Subhuman cells?”

The Contract named Potato chuckled and swung his hammer harder.

”What insanity, I’m very normal.”

The Contractor sitting by the cliff shook his head, staring at the abyss below, suddenly having a thought.

”Potato, what do you think will happen if I jump down?”

”Huh?”

Potato stopped his movements.

”Probably die, maybe.”

”Die, huh, really scary.”

As soon as the words fell, the Contractor leaped off the fortress, and moments later, a muffled boom echoed from below the cliff.

”Has the Tribal Army attacked again?”

A Contractor wearing a Cowboy hat rushed over.

”No, Black Blood jumped off the cliff.”

”Damn, that guy’s becoming more unstable; I told him not to overdevelop his Subhuman Bloodline, now he’s like a Taliban Player.”

Plop, plop.

A hand rested on the edge of the fortress’s wall.

”Turns out I couldn’t die, but... it hurts like hell.”

Black Blood climbed up the fortress; he was a black-haired, red-eyed youth, with a fair face, resembling a fresh young idol. Don’t be fooled by his appearance; his favorite thing is to hug enemies and self-destruct.

”Black Blood, you’ve interacted with the Contractors of Apocalypse Paradise before, right? How are those people’s strength?”

Potato set down his hammer, curious about Apocalypse Paradise.

Black Blood climbed up the fortress, blocking one nostril with his finger, blowing hard, blood and snot spewing from the other nostril.

”Their equipment is good, skill level isn’t low, but they just give off a weird vibe.”

Black Blood fell to the ground.

”Weird?”

Potato clearly didn’t understand Black Blood’s words.

”How to describe it, well~ to put it accurately, they seem like they’re finishing a high-risk job, yes, that’s the feeling.”

Black Blood lay there and fell asleep in a few seconds.

...

Hill Canyon, the gathering place of Apocalypse Paradise Contractors, inside a tent.

Swish, the knife sliced through flesh.

Drip, drip, blood trickling down, soaking into the soil, the smell of blood permeating the tent.

”How many of you are there, what’s your War Task, who holds the World Core now?”

A skinny man wearing a slaughtering uniform stood in the tent, his uniform stained with blood, and in the center, a female Contractor hung upside down, swaying. The female Contractor was bare, with at least hundreds of wounds across her pale skin, blood flowing down her body.

”You... your technique... isn’t good, I’m almost... dead.”

The upside-down female Contractor spoke, her dead fish eyes squinting at the skinny man interrogating her.

”If... I tell you, will you let me go?”

Despair flickered in the female Contractor’s eyes, unable to bear the torture anymore.

”Of course.”

The executioner nodded.

”We have... the task is...”

The female Contractor, weak from heavy blood loss, spoke feebly.

”What?”

The executioner leaned closer, his ear by the female Contractor’s mouth.

Bang!

The sound of teeth snapping was heard, the executioner narrowly dodging the bite intended by the female Contractor.

”Haha, letting me go? You’re trying to fool a kid. I knew I was doomed the moment I was captured. Just wait; my man will come for you all, for sure. He’ll slaughter you one by one; I’ll wait for you in Hell.”

With that, the female Contractor’s mouth emitted chewing sounds, and blood and shredded flesh leaked from the corners of her lips.

”...”

The executioner’s gaze turned chilly, yet he had no better method; this female Contractor was immune to hypnosis or Mind Sensing, having Spiritual Ability.

”Pah~”

The female Contractor spat out her chewed-up tongue; she wasn’t ready to die, but was delaying time—her only chance of survival. Confessing would only hasten her death.

”Seems Shell was right; you bastards are all mentally unstable.”

The executioner used his scalpel to slit the female Contractor’s throat; a large gush of blood sprayed forth.

Blood streamed down the female Contractor’s face; she didn’t struggle—there was no point. She merely stared at the executioner, staring intensely.
