Reincarnation Paradise Park

Chapter 701: Chapter 11: Goodwill

In the somewhat dim underground passage, except for the sound of footsteps, only the flickering lights remained.

With a crack, a wall lamp on the stone wall extinguished.

”We’re almost there.”

The old priest was very familiar with this place. After the two walked about a hundred meters, the passage noticeably widened.

A rusty iron door blocked the path ahead; the old priest stood in front of it, turning his head to look at Su Xiao.

Su Xiao turned his back, which reassured the old priest, who then began to turn the mechanism on the iron door.

Screech, screech...

A sound that grated on the nerves came, and as the iron door opened, a strange smell wafted out.

This strange smell was a mixture of many odors, including the smell of mold, a faintly sweet fishy smell, and the stench of rotting fish.

Su Xiao looked inside the iron door, which led to a small secret chamber.

”Wait for me here a moment.”

The old priest walked into the chamber and returned in less than half a minute, holding a parchment, a test tube, and an old flintlock gun.

With a loud rumble, the iron door closed, and the old priest hurriedly walked back down the passage, returning the way they came. A few minutes later, the two were back inside the church.

Sitting across from each other in the church corner, the old priest wiped the flintlock gun in his hands, seeming somewhat reluctant.

The old priest handed the parchment to Su Xiao, on which was a magic array, pulsating with magical power.

”This is the ’key’ to enter Liu Dong Temple.”

Su Xiao took the parchment, and a prompt from Reincarnation Paradise appeared.

After handing over the ’Demon Mountain Goat Skin,’ the old priest held the test tube and flintlock gun in his hands.

”How about... we have a spar?”

The old priest was quite bold, actually wanting to spar with Su Xiao to test his strength.

Su Xiao was somewhat speechless; the old priest was now a neutral storyline character, under Reincarnation Paradise’s protection, making sparring impossible.

”If there’s nothing else, I’ll take my leave.”

”Wait...”

The old priest hurriedly stood up.

”Survive and disable the ’Exorcism Entity Barrier’ there. Don’t think of destroying that barrier. In a sense, it’s almost indestructible as it coexists with Liu Dong Temple.”

The old priest handed the test tube containing light gold liquid and the flintlock gun to Su Xiao.

...

Looking at the holy water and Dawn Roar in his hands, Su Xiao immediately thought of adding the holy water into the empty chamber bullets of Dawn Roar and charging it up.

If the enemy is dark element, a close-range shot would at least leave them seriously injured.

”This gun is a relic left by someone, once attempted to be repaired. Sadly... ensuring it doesn’t explode is already a stroke of luck; repair is impossible, parts are missing, the array on it is also invalid, and the difficulty of repair is higher than forging a new one, as for how to use it...”

The old priest instructed Su Xiao to eject the bullet from Dawn Roar. It was a spherical crystal bullet with a small hole at the top, allowing liquid to be injected inside.

”If you infuse holy water into the bullet, you must use it within ten days, or the holy water will lose effect. As for who this bullet will hit, that’s for yourself to decide.”

Following the old priest’s guidance, Su Xiao infused the holy water into the bullet and reloaded it.

This should be a crucial item; although it has little impact on most creatures, for evil beings its power rivals that of a light gold item.

”To enter Liu Dong Temple, take this parchment to the original site, and you’ll naturally understand.”

The old priest sighed, his eyes fixed on the gun in Su Xiao’s hand. This was once the sidearm of a female executor, countless evil creatures perished by it, saving numerous lives.

”I have only one last question, are you connected to this Holy Grail War...?”

The old priest’s eyes were scorching; he had vaguely perceived something.

”Who knows, but if all goes well, we won’t be enemies.”

Su Xiao’s main task was to touch the Great Holy Grail, not obtain it.

After experiencing several Holy Grail Wars, the current Great Holy Grail is no longer an omnipotent wishing machine; that thing has been tainted by the filth of the world and the evil thoughts of Heroic Spirits, wishing upon it is tantamount to courting death.

So Su Xiao never considered obtaining the Great Holy Grail; his primary goal is to complete the Talent Awakening Task, and if the opportunity arises, accomplishing the main task would be ideal.

Putting away the ’Dawn Roar,’ the parchment was kept on him, Su Xiao stood up and left the church.

”I hope you come back alive, young man, or maybe don’t go, stay for breakfast instead.”

Hearing the old priest’s shout, Su Xiao paused his steps.

”Thanks for the offer. If I come out alive, I’ll definitely open that barrier, and... be wary of those you deem trustworthy.”

Leaving with these words, Su Xiao walked out of the church.

”Ah, may you succeed,”

Watching Su Xiao’s departing figure, the old priest sighed.

”God, please forgive me for allowing a young man to step into hell, though it was by his own will, and he forced me.”

Admittedly, the old priest, although not a good person, wasn’t bad either. Learning Su Xiao wanted to enter Liu Dong Temple, his first reaction was rejection.

It’s unclear how someone like the old priest would have a son like Kirei Kotomine.

Walking out of the church, Su Xiao felt a bit heavy-hearted.

With only 6 Charm Attributes, the old priest’s demeanor was overly warm; this wasn’t normal. Moreover, Su Xiao’s aura didn’t align with that of a decent person, seeming to be from a different ’faction’ than the old priest. Despite this, the old priest gave him the key, a one-time weapon, and even warned him before leaving.
