Chapter 707: Chapter 17: Green Shadow King Awakening?

The light blue smoke enveloped Dill Multo, who was now beginning to materialize into energy.

In just a few seconds, Dill Multo had transformed into a mass of golden energy, which moved within Su Xiao’s palm, while Dill Multo’s soul elegantly drifted away.

”Much less than expected.”

Perhaps due to consumption in the previous battle, Su Xiao obtained not much Heroic Spirit energy. Although not much, it was far more abundant compared to the amount of an arm previously.

The golden Heroic Spirit energy sank into Su Xiao’s palm, flowing through his arm as a channel, entering the Core of Devour near his heart.

The precisely constructed Core of Devour immediately began operating, purifying, and refining this Heroic Spirit energy into a type of colorless energy.

As the first wisp of colorless energy drifted out from the Core of Devour, the Blue Steel Shadow energy within Su Xiao’s body had reached its peak activeness, instantly swarming and absorbing the colorless energy completely. ℯℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

With the decrease of Heroic Spirit energy within the Core of Devour, the amount of drifting colorless energy obviously increased, and a few minutes later, all Heroic Spirit energy was completely converted.

Su Xiao stood on the spot, light blue light flickered in his eyes, and the blue smoke drifting from his arm disappeared.

”Phew～”

Su Xiao let out a long breath; every absorption of high-level biological energy was a test for his mental fortitude.

Turning his head to look outside the derelict building, because he had just absorbed Heroic Spirit energy, his perception of this energy was exceptionally keen.

”Already moved far away? Compared to Dill Multo, your energy is so savory it makes people drool.”

Su Xiao looked in the direction of Saber and others, who had strategically retreated.

In the distance, Saber, dressed in a black suit, suddenly stopped in her tracks, instinctively turning her head to look in a particular direction.

”What’s wrong, Saber.”

Emiya Kiritsugu’s wife, Alice Phil, looked at Saber with confusion; she was a beautiful woman with white hair.

Alice Phil’s identity is not simple. She is not human, but an artificially created homunculi by the Einzbern clan. More crucially, she is the vessel prepared by the Einzbern clan for the arrival of the Holy Grail.

With the continuation of the Holy Grail War, every time a Heroic Spirit dies, Alice Phil becomes weaker. The weaker she becomes, the closer the Holy Grail is to descending.

Destined for tragedy from birth, this is the life of the beautiful Alice Phil.

Now Alice Phil is not too weak, after all, only two Heroic Spirits have fallen so far (Dill Multo + Lancelot).

Upon hearing Alice Phil’s question, Saber shook her head.

”It’s nothing, it’s just a sort of ominous premonition, the combination of that Heroic Spirit and Master is too strange, it’s like...”

”It’s like identities have swapped.”

Emiya Kiritsugu interjected; he too saw the clue.

”Yes, identities swapped!”

Saber agreed with this statement.

”The command seal on that ’Master’s’ hand... was drawn.”

Emiya Kiritsugu’s words left Saber and others astonished.

”Drawn?”

Saber was somewhat surprised, evidently unable to accept this kind of maneuver.

”Indeed, drawn, although none of the previous iterations of the Holy Grail War had Masters doing this, it’s a good method.”

”Then we shall also...”

Alice Phil raised her fair hand, seemingly also wanting to draw a command seal on her hand.

”No.”

Emiya Kiritsugu rejected decisively.

”Drawing a command seal on the hand may confuse enemies from a distance, but it requires corresponding combat prowess and numerous conditions; you cannot, although Saber could consider it.

Upon hearing Emiya Kiritsugu’s words, Saber remained silent, clearly unwilling to deceive others by drawing a command seal on her hand, as the ’honesty’ of her knight character forbids her from doing so.

The group fell silent, until Emiya Kiritsugu suddenly spoke.

”Saber, if you faced that Heroic Spirit, what are your chances of victory.”

”Sixty percent... no, at most fifty percent. Regarding Noble Phantasms, I am at an advantage, and I have ways to counter that Heroic Spirit’s sword technique, except for that drifting blue smoke on their hand, which seems as though it can... devour me!”

Saber’s swordsmanship is not weak, but by comparison, it is slightly inferior to Su Xiao’s sword technique. However, Saber possesses Level A ability ’Intuition’; Level A Intuition allows her to foresee the future briefly, such as predicting the angle of Su Xiao’s cleave in advance.

”I see, then the best strategy is to avoid their sharp edge.”

Emiya Kiritsugu started contemplating the next strategy. He retreated just now to let Su Xiao eliminate a few more Heroic Spirits and thus reduce competitors.

Unfortunately, Su Xiao will not appear in Fuyuki City any time soon.

...

Inside the derelict building, Su Xiao sat cross-legged on the ground, faintly able to hear Matou Gan Ye’s roaring from the open ground downstairs.

The Blue Steel Shadow energy within his body gradually stabilized, and Su Xiao opened his eyes; the notifications from Reincarnation Paradise appeared.

[Due to absorption of energy converted from the Core of Devour, Blue Steel Shadow level increased.]

[Blue Steel Shadow has increased to LV.27.]

[Blue Steel Shadow has increased to LV.28.]

Blue Steel Shadow increased by two levels; precisely speaking, it increased by one and a half levels. As Su Xiao continues using Blue Steel Shadow ability, this skill will gradually improve.

A single Heroic Spirit roughly increased Blue Steel Shadow level by one and a half; it pales in comparison to the improvement brought by a Tailed Beast, whose energy base is evident.

The combat strength of a Heroic Spirit differs from a Tailed Beast, as does the power system between the Naruto World and the Holy Grail World.

Compared to Chakra, the Magic Power of the Holy Grail World is a few tiers lower, not in terms of power but judged from multiple aspects like energy function and nature.

’Arc’ flickered at Su Xiao’s fingertips; the materialized Blue Steel Shadow energy resembles lightning, though their nature differs.

Despite just increasing by two levels, Su Xiao felt a significant rise in the density of Blue Steel Shadow energy. He opened his skill list to view detailed information after the Blue Steel Shadow skill upgrade.

[Blue Steel Shadow: LV.28 (Active Skill)]

Usage conditions: Upon activation (Blue Steel Shadow), Hunter consumes 66 Mana Value per minute (an increase of 4 Mana Value consumption), automatically deactivating if Mana Value falls below 1%.

Skill Effect: When activated (Blue Steel Shadow), every close combat attack burns 140 Mana Value of the enemy (an increase of 10 points), and inflicts True Damage equivalent to burnt Mana Value + 10% of the enemy’s consumed Mana Value (an increase of 1%), with enemies suffering extreme pain from Mana burn.

Lv.20 Additional Ability

Controller: Can intensely manifest Blue Steel Shadow energy in three forms.

Form One, Demon Hunting: The basic form of Blue Steel Shadow, it burns the enemy’s Mana Value and inflicts True Damage.

Form Two, Proud Song: The defensive form. Can generate energy shields of any shape to defend against enemy attacks; the strength of the energy shield is related to consumed Mana Value, with a single consumption limit of 400 points.

Form Three, Green Shadow King (2% awakened).

...

All attributes of the Blue Steel Shadow skill have improved, and upon seeing the introduction at the bottom, Su Xiao suddenly discovered that the ’Green Shadow King’ ability had already awakened by 2%.

This left Su Xiao pleasantly surprised yet puzzled; he hadn’t done anything, perhaps it’s due to the increase in Blue Steel Shadow level?

Maybe it isn’t due to that; previously in the Naruto World, Blue Steel Shadow ability increased from LV.20 to LV.26, yet the ’Green Shadow King’ showed no signs of awakening.

Could it be naturally awakened? That possibility isn’t high either.

Su Xiao felt a headache coming on, undoubtedly the ’Green Shadow King’ ability is one of the ultimate moves of Shadow of Annihilation Law, but it cannot be used currently, and the way it awakens is unknown.
