Reincarnation Paradise Park

Chapter 717: Chapter 27: 34%

The battle entered a bizarre situation; the Flat Head Brother actually bit down on Su Xiao’s knife and wouldn’t let go, even curling its body into a ball.

Su Xiao tried to get rid of the Flat Head Brother on the blade. He first tried slashing at hard objects, but for some reason, the Flat Head Brother remained unscathed. It must be due to its teeth, capable of biting through the Counter Shield, as it bit the Dragon Slash and used its body for resistance, so the blade couldn’t directly strike the Flat Head Brother.

Seeing that slashing was ineffective, Su Xiao attempted to burn it.

After using three Incendiary Bombs, Su Xiao discovered that the layer of black exoskeleton on the Flat Head Brother seemed to have a heat-insulating effect, making burning ineffective as well.

After trying several methods, Su Xiao started to feel helpless. He couldn’t let down his guard now; who knows if the Flat Head Brother would release the Dragon Slash and bite his throat?

Should he just let the Flat Head Brother continue biting? That’s not an option, as Su Xiao couldn’t use the knife to slash enemies, only using the Flat Head Brother to smash them. The Dragon Slash had effectively become a hammer, with the Flat Head Brother as the head.

Furthermore, in such an intense battle, it would be troublesome if the Flat Head Brother suddenly let go and attacked Su Xiao.

”Let go, and we’ll settle this once and for all.”

Hearing Su Xiao’s words, one of the Flat Head Brother’s eyes opened. Proficient in interpreting the gaze of animals, Su Xiao immediately understood what the Flat Head Brother wanted to convey: ”Fool, I won’t let go. What can you do about it?”

Su Xiao’s fingers, wrapped in the Metal Armguard, stabbed towards the Flat Head Brother’s eyes. The Flat Head Brother quickly closed its eyes and used the exoskeleton to protect them.

With a clang, Su Xiao’s fingers struck the exoskeleton.

Feeling slightly numb fingers, an idea came to Su Xiao. Although this method couldn’t kill the Flat Head Brother, it could prevent it from bothering him for a short while. Killing the Flat Head Brother wasn’t the point now—getting rid of it and finding the Soul Lamp was the priority.

Su Xiao raised the Dragon Slash, took a deep breath, and tensed the muscles in his legs.

The Dragon Slash suddenly disappeared into thin air, as Su Xiao stored it in his Storage Space. Since the Flat Head Brother was a living creature, it couldn’t be stored along with the sword and began to naturally fall.

Surprised at the sudden release, Su Xiao sidestepped and kicked the Flat Head Brother with all his might.

Bam.

The Flat Head Brother was sent flying like a football, piercing through layers of air with a swoosh due to its high speed.

Su Xiao looked at the Flat Head Brother fading into the horizon with an unwilling roar, a smile appearing on his face. He had successfully broken into the Main Hall area and escaped pursuit.

Su Xiao’s Power Attribute, including equipment bonuses, reached 67 points—a monster strength capable of dismantling a Gundam barehanded. With full force, he could kick the Flat Head Brother several kilometers, perhaps even over ten kilometers.

Having escaped pursuit, Su Xiao began to explore the courtyard of the Main Hall, as he didn’t know the location of the Soul Lamp and could only search room by room.

Half an hour later, Su Xiao had nearly searched every room in the Main Hall area, with only the Main Hall itself remaining.

The name ”Main Hall” suggests it is a place for displaying and worshipping statues.

Standing before the Main Hall doors, Su Xiao chose to search here last because it gave him an ominous feeling; he wouldn’t enter unless absolutely necessary.

He pushed open the Main Hall doors and was first greeted by a large water pool. The pool was rectangular, filled with a pale green liquid whose depth was unknown, exuding a strong sense of vitality.

[Hint: Hunter has reached the Liu Dong Temple Main Hall.]

[Talent Awakening Task (Ring Two): Soul Lamp (Completed)]

The completion of the second ring of the Talent Task was because Su Xiao had already seen the Soul Lamp.

Deep in the Main Hall, a skeleton sat cross-legged on an altar, with a lamp placed before it. The lamp was ancient-looking and seemed ordinary, but a Soul Crystal was placed at the lamp’s wick—this was the Soul Lamp’s wick.

When the Soul Crystal burned, it emitted a white smoke, which the skeleton absorbed. There’s no doubt; this lamp, fueled by a Soul Crystal, was the Soul Lamp.

[Talent Awakening Task (Third Ring) has been activated; this is the final phase of the Talent Task.]

[Hint: Completing this task will awaken the Hunter’s Talent.]

[Talent Awakening Task (Third Ring): Destroy the Soul Lamp]

Difficulty Level: Lv.26

Task Description: Use any means necessary to destroy the Soul Lamp.

Task Information: Do not assume what you see is the threat; the threat hides in the shadows.

Task Time Limit: 30 minutes

Task Reward: None

Task Penalty: Forfeiture of one Talent Awakening opportunity; Talent Awakening Task cannot be accepted again in this world.

...

Su Xiao was approximately twenty meters from the Soul Lamp, with only a pool in between. Fortunately, the pool could be circumvented.

Raising the Dragon Slash, Su Xiao hesitated for a moment but ultimately chose not to unleash a Blade Aura. If the Blade Aura could destroy the Soul Lamp, the Talent Awakening Task would be too easy.

White spiders crawled from Su Xiao’s sleeves—he intended to test with an Alchemy Bomb.

Dozens of small white spiders crawled towards the Soul Lamp as Su Xiao’s gaze became increasingly sharp, ready to confront any sudden enemy appearances.

As the white spiders approached the Soul Lamp, Su Xiao instinctively gripped the sword’s hilt, following the convention that the final boss should appear at this time.

When the white spiders were three meters away from the Soul Lamp, cold sweat appeared on Su Xiao’s cheek, as the situation was eerily strange.

When the white spiders were two meters away from the Soul Lamp, Su Xiao narrowed his eyes, staring intently at the skeleton behind the Soul Lamp.

One meter, fifty centimeters, ten centimeters.

When all the white spiders climbed onto the Soul Lamp, Su Xiao squinted his eyes and decisively detonated the Alchemy Bomb.

Boom.

Flames surged as the Soul Lamp was shattered, along with the skeleton. It wasn’t any final boss, just an ordinary set of bones.

[Talent Awakening Task (Third Ring): Destroy the Soul Lamp (Completed)]

[Hint: The Hunter has completed the Talent Awakening Task and can awaken the Talent Ability ’Soul Devourer’ at any time.]

[Hint: During Talent Awakening, the Hunter will be extremely weak; ensure to awaken in a secure location.]

[Congratulations to the Hunter for completing the Talent Awakening Task.]

[Hint: The Talent Awakening Task’s completion level is being assessed. The Hunter’s actions in the next five hours will determine the final completion level. Current completion level: 34%.]

Su Xiao’s heart began to race, with the joy of completing the Talent Task and the unsettling sensation of impending death.

Su Xiao turned to flee without hesitation, but the doors behind him slammed shut. He raised his hand and slashed at the door.

With a clang, Su Xiao’s palm numbed as he was repelled by a Barrier.

When the Soul Lamp shattered, ten layers of Barriers appeared inside and outside Liu Dong Temple. Even if Su Xiao had left the Main Hall earlier and detonated the Alchemy Bomb remotely to destroy the Soul Lamp, he would have been trapped within the Barrier. In that case, he would face even greater risk.

The task’s difficulty level of LV.26 seemed daunting, suggesting the Soul Lamp should be difficult to destroy. Typically, approaching the Soul Lamp might trigger mechanisms or enemies, so Su Xiao’s action of bombing the Soul Lamp wasn’t to destroy it, but to lure out that unknown enemy.

In reality, the task didn’t pose much risk while executing it; the difficulty wasn’t in destroying the Soul Lamp but in surviving and escaping Liu Dong Temple after destroying it.

Gulu—

A series of bubbles emerged from the pool in the Main Hall. This pool was the Eternal Life Pool.
