Reincarnation Paradise Park

Chapter 721: Chapter 31: Burning

Deep within Liu Dong Temple, in the Main Hall.

Su Xiao lay on the ground motionless, seemingly asleep, with the corpse of Resentful Orphan·Hughes beside him.

”It seems... luck is on my side this time.”

Su Xiao sat up and glanced at Hughes’s corpse. Based on strength comparison, Hughes was much stronger than him, but in the end, he won. This was due to his own strength and Hughes’s unfamiliarity with his abilities.

Su Xiao speculated that Hughes had likely just evolved into this form. The opponent’s attacks were monotonous and didn’t seem like someone accustomed to using heavy weapons, nor was he familiar with using skills.

If Su Xiao had Hughes’s attributes and skills, he would never charge directly at the enemy but choose to fight a long battle. With that soul-eroding aura, no one could outlast Hughes.

Su Xiao exhaled deeply. With Hughes now dead, the danger level inside Liu Dong Temple was greatly reduced. As long as he wasn’t besieged by a large group of resentful creatures, leaving Liu Dong Temple wouldn’t be a problem.

Su Xiao didn’t intend to leave Liu Dong Temple just yet; he still remembered a previous prompt from Reincarnation Paradise.

[Talent Awakening Task completion assessment in progress. The Hunter’s actions within the next five hours will determine the final completion of the Talent Awakening Task, current completion is 34%.]

This prompt indicated that Su Xiao’s actions within five hours after task completion would determine the Talent Awakening Task’s completion percentage.

The importance of completion percentage is self-evident; the higher it is, the stronger Su Xiao will be after the talent awakening.

Talent levels range from E-level to SSS Level, and the Task’s completion determines the awakened Talent Ability’s level.

According to Su Xiao’s knowledge, the first awakening’s highest level is S, with the highest SSS requiring a second awakening.

As for the second awakening, Su Xiao only knows one piece of information: it’s not something that task completion or gathering items can achieve; it requires considerable luck and power.

With a current completion rate of 34%, reaching Level B upon awakening is already quite good; aiming for S-Level is unrealistic.

”I need to continue.”

Su Xiao stood up, walked to Hughes’s body, and pulled out Dragon Slash from it, leaving the Dawn Roar in Hughes’s eye socket, as the gun had misfired.

Since he could kill the big boss, Resentful Orphan·Hughes, the resentful creatures scattered within Liu Dong Temple wouldn’t be an issue. He searched the room for a while and finally found the barrier’s node beneath the pool.

Blue Steel Shadow Energy clung to Dragon Slash, piercing through the magic node of the barrier. The barrier around the room vanished.

Not only did the barrier around the room vanish, but the previous layers also disappeared, leaving only the outermost barrier hiding Liu Dong Temple, which seemed to have an independent magic supply.

As Su Xiao prepared to leave the Main Hall and battle through Liu Dong Temple, a sharp pain hit his chest.

”Cough cough cough...”

Su Xiao coughed up several mouthfuls of blood; his injuries were more serious than expected and couldn’t be suppressed with just a few bottles of No.1 Potion.

Realizing this, Su Xiao felt rather unwilling. Could he really give up just like that?

Given his current physical state, it’s clear he couldn’t fight through Liu Dong Temple; though his body was strong, he was still made of flesh with limits that couldn’t be overcome with sheer will.

Let alone fighting through Liu Dong Temple, even handling over a dozen resentful creatures at once was uncertain.

After pondering for a moment, Su Xiao opened the Main Hall doors and climbed over the wall.

As soon as he landed, a large number of mouse-like creatures with spines noticed him.

”Squeak~”

Over a hundred Resentful Rats shrieked in unison, though they lacked combat power and mostly served as alarms.

Su Xiao swiftly cut down a few charging Resentful Rats and rushed down the mountain. Five minutes later, he reached the mid-slope.

”With this... the completion rate should be high.”

Su Xiao muttered and focused intensely. About thirty seconds later, he remotely detonated a bomb left inside Liu Dong Temple, a dazzling light appeared silently behind him.

An enormous fireball one kilometer in diameter started to explode in the Liu Dong Temple area. It resembled a sun crashing into the temple, vaporizing earth, steel, cement, and more.

Boom!

A buzzing echoed in his ears as a pressure wave blasted against him. Su Xiao shielded his face with his bracer-wrapped left arm.

The sun was blooming, incinerating everything!

The searing heat from the mountaintop forced Su Xiao to step back two paces. He had left his sole Sun God Apollo in the Main Hall, now detonated.

Apollo’s explosion continued, not in its explosive power but in the resulting blaze.

With kill notifications flashing, Su Xiao saw at least a hundred such messages in an instant. It’s unknown if Holy Church Merit was valuable, but the rapid increase in World Source thrilled him.

When Sun God Apollo’s blaze lasted two seconds, the notifications ceased, with Su Xiao garnering an astonishing 61.4% in World Source. He had never gained so much World Source in any Derivative World.

This made him wonder what happens if the World Source reaches 100%. Shaking his head, he knew with his current strength, acquiring 100% wasn’t feasible.

Moreover, Liu Dong Temple was a hidden area, which is why there was so much World Source here.

[You killed a Resentful Servant Leader]

[You earned 100 points of Holy Church Merit.]

As Apollo’s flames gradually faded, Liu Dong Temple had disappeared. This area vanished due to the extreme heat vaporizing it.

The current Liu Dong Temple ruins became a Forbidden Area For Living Beings, with Apollo’s explosion flattening everything within a kilometer!

The mountaintop where Liu Dong Temple stood was now a sea of red, the rock turned to lava from heat, the air above distorted, and even at mid-mountain, Su Xiao felt the terrifying temperature.

Despite the overwhelming effect, Su Xiao couldn’t help feeling a pang of heartache, as a Sun God Apollo was a costly creation.

Given that the Talent Awakening Task was closely tied to Liu Dong Temple, Su Xiao leveled it rather than fighting through, potentially boosting task completion remarkably.

Yet, it wasn’t over. Su Xiao took out an item dropped by Resentful Orphan·Hughes earlier: [Book of Repentance (Task Item)].
