Chapter 733: Chapter 43: The Tank’s Nemesis Ability

Umbrella Brother’s strike was successful, and a smile appeared on his face, swollen like a pig’s head, with a fierce glow in his eyes that were reduced to mere slits.

”You enjoyed hitting me with the shield earlier? Now that your teammate is dead, are you panicking?”

Umbrella Brother laughed heartily, feeling quite refreshed, but he couldn’t help but wonder how Su Xiao managed to kill a third-tier contractor.

Su Xiao’s victory over Butterfly was due to several factors: Butterfly’s underestimation, her support role, and the suppression on third-tier contractors entering the second-tier world.

Despite all these factors, the result was that Butterfly turned into a corpse, and Su Xiao survived. No matter the process, the result determines everything.

After Butterfly’s death, the little fatty holding a golden quality shield looked extremely grim. He wiped the blood from his nose, feeling a chill inside.

As a third-tier main tank, the little fatty wasn’t worried about being kept by Su Xiao and Umbrella Brother. Unlike Butterfly, the little fatty’s attack ability was weak, but his survival ability was insanely strong. Just the defense of that golden-quality shield was astonishing.

The little fatty feared Huang Yan. Now that Butterfly was dead, how would he explain to Huang Yan? Without Butterfly’s tracking ability, continuing to hunt Su Xiao in this derivative world would be very difficult.

As for hunting in the next derivative world? That’s a joke. As long as Su Xiao survives this encounter, the Blood Gate Adventure Group wouldn’t want to bankrupt themselves by provoking him again anytime soon.

That’s why Stan sent three top-tier third-tier contractors to hunt Su Xiao, the strongest contractors that could enter the second-tier world, showing Stan’s determination.

The three had clear roles: Huang Yan was responsible for the kills, Butterfly for tracking and support, and the little fatty as an insurance to prevent the contractors of the Holy Grail World from ganging up on Huang Yan.

With the presence of a third-tier main tank, even if the contractors of the Holy Grail World teamed up, they wouldn’t be able to do anything to the three.

Outside the villa courtyard, Umbrella Brother and the little fatty were in a fierce battle. To be precise, Umbrella Brother was mostly getting beaten up, occasionally managing to retaliate.

The little fatty blocked Umbrella Brother’s punch with his shield. With a bang, an iron fist puffing steam hit the shield, but the little fatty stood firm like a mountain, not moving an inch.

”Bai Ye, let’s team up and kill him.”

Umbrella Brother was obviously enjoying the fight. Although he took a beating, after Butterfly’s death, the oppression in his chest was vented.

Not far away, Su Xiao sat on the ground, blood dripping from Dragon Slash’s blade tip. His whole body felt on the verge of falling apart, needing time to recover his combat strength.

”Two minutes.”

Su Xiao took out the No.1 Potion, bit off the cork, and drank it.

”Two minutes?!”

Umbrella Brother looked at Su Xiao during a gap in the fight, clearly unable to hold on for two minutes.

The moment Umbrella Brother looked at Su Xiao, the little fatty shifted his footing, leaning his whole body towards the shield in his hand, which suddenly accelerated and crashed into Umbrella Brother.

Bam!

Umbrella Brother was knocked dizzy, seeing stars.

”If you’re distracted in battle, you’ll die. Besides, two minutes will pass quickly.”

Su Xiao lit a cigarette, smiling as he watched Umbrella Brother.

”Easy for you to say, I’m the one getting beaten...”

Umbrella Brother murmured, one eye shut from being hit, looking somewhat comedic.

When the little fatty noticed Su Xiao wasn’t planning to join the fight temporarily, he focused most of his attention on Umbrella Brother, preparing to retreat. Although these two enemies couldn’t do much to him, he couldn’t do anything to Su Xiao either. As a main tank nurtured by the adventure group, it wasn’t wise to continue exhausting himself.

The adventure group’s cultivated main tank had a characteristic of sacrificing all attack abilities, enhancing all resources to defense. The adventure group emphasized team collaboration, so having a main tank attacking enemies was less preferable than focusing on defense.

Although the little fatty didn’t have much attack ability, his control ability was decent, an essential quality for a main tank to block formidable foes at critical moments.

Unlike Umbrella Brother, the little fatty was a wild main tank, unable to allocate all resources to defense, being half offensive and half defensive. If he went full defense, he would’ve died in some derivative world long ago. That’s why Umbrella Brother could hold off the third-tier main tank, the little fatty.

After tangling with Umbrella Brother for a dozen seconds, the little fatty activated the skills attached to the golden-quality shield, preparing for a strategic retreat, also known as running away.

The rectangular shield was iron-gray, and when the little fatty activated the shield’s skills, the metal surface protruded, forming a grimacing face with fangs bared.

Hum～

The mouth of the grimacing face emitted a red light, like a cannon muzzle charging up.

Umbrella Brother retreated a few steps, feeling immense pressure from the grimacing face.

Boom!

A red light burst from the grimacing face’s mouth, and Umbrella Brother screamed as he was blown into the air, spinning like a windmill.

Bang! Umbrella Brother landed face-first, sliding across the ground, his legs flailing.

After sliding face-down for over ten meters, Umbrella Brother plopped on the ground, swallowing a mouthful of dirt.

Umbrella Brother appeared pathetic but wasn’t seriously injured. The cannon from the grimacing face on the shield was a knockback-type skill. Though the knockback effect was strong, it didn’t cause much damage.

Just after knocking back Umbrella Brother, the little fatty turned to leave.

Thunk～

A spurt of blood flew as a silent energy crossbow arrow struck the little fatty’s shoulder. The arrow’s kinetic energy was strong, causing its tail to vibrate rapidly.

The energy crossbow arrow’s tip pierced into the little fatty, whose body wasn’t covered in metallic armor, but his physical defense was incredibly high.

To know, the attack power of a Ghost Hunter is similar to that of the Spider Queen, and Su Xiao was only about 30 meters from the little fatty. Yet, one arrow only caused a minor injury. For a second-tier main tank, this arrow, even if not fatal, could pierce through the opponent’s shoulder.

The little fatty grabbed the vibrating energy crossbow arrow, pulling it out with force, and it dispersed into the air.

”Is it meaningful?”

The little fatty glanced sidelong at Su Xiao, clearly indicating that even if he couldn’t escape, Su Xiao and his friend couldn’t do anything to him.

”Of course it’s meaningful.”

Su Xiao pulled the Ghost Hunter’s crossbow string, and as it was strung, an energy crossbow arrow gradually formed, needing one minute for the process.

As long as Su Xiao had time to rest, he could recover his combat strength. By then, even if the little fatty survived, he’d be in a wretched state.

If it were only Su Xiao, facing the little fatty with his golden-quality shield, he indeed couldn’t do much to him. But now, there were two of them.

Despite being beaten to a pulp, Umbrella Brother was a reliable teammate who wouldn’t flee at the brink of battle and had a clear battle strategy.

As long as Umbrella Brother held the little fatty head-on, Su Xiao and Umbrella Brother could attack him in a pincer move, bypassing that golden-quality shield.

With the little fatty’s physical defense, Su Xiao’s cleave alone wasn’t enough. But the true damage of Blue Steel Shadow could give the little fatty a taste of despair, not to mention the additional true damage from the Demon’s Mark.

As long as the armor can be broken, there’s no tank Su Xiao can’t cut down!

”You bastard, I’m going all out with you!”

Umbrella Brother yelled as he charged at the little fatty, with such ferocity that the little fatty was stunned. Not only was he stunned, but Su Xiao was also a bit surprised, wondering what got into him.

PS: (A day spent in the hospital, only one update today, sorry.)
