Chapter 702: Chapter 12: The Most Unpopular Heroic Spirit

Walking down the bustling street, Su Xiao scratched his cheek. He never imagined he’d be welcomed by someone with good intentions. If he returns alive, he might visit the church again.

At this moment, a sense of crisis suddenly emerged.

”Hmm?”

Su Xiao looked at the distant rooftop, vaguely seeing Bubu Wang there. The sense of crisis he felt was fleeting. Based on his experience, someone was observing him from a distance.

Su Xiao discreetly retracted his arm into his sleeve and turned to enter a nearby shop.

A few minutes later, Su Xiao exited the shop with a change of clothes and removed the disguise mask from his face. A blood-red command seal appeared on the back of his right hand.

Su Xiao concealed all his equipment, wore casual clothes, and changed his appearance, causing the feeling of being watched to vanish.

Su Xiao didn’t immediately regroup with Bubu Wang and the others. After sending a message to Bubu Wang, he headed out of Fuyuki City alone.

Bubu Wang quickly understood the situation and, along with Sakura Matou, hastened out of Fuyuki City.

Along the way, Su Xiao acquired a car. The person monitoring him was either another Contractor or a Heroic Spirit or Heroic Spirit Master.

The remaining six pairs of Heroic Spirits and Masters were concentrated in Fuyuki City, making a chance encounter not impossible.

Su Xiao temporarily didn’t want to contact other Heroic Spirits. He needed to head to Liu Dong Temple as soon as possible.

Unfortunately, according to the Priest, carrying the ’Demon Mountain Goat Skin’ during the day wouldn’t help find Liu Dong Temple. It could only be located after 8 PM.

Half an hour later, Su Xiao arrived in the urban area near Liu Dong Temple. As he got out of the car, the feeling of being watched reappeared.

Su Xiao’s expression was grim. Did they think he had a good temper? To pursue him all the way here, and it wasn’t just one group.

Su Xiao guessed that he was targeted because he entered the ’Kotomine Church’ and had contact with the Old Priest. As the overseer of the Holy Grail War, there must be many people watching the Old Priest.

This was indeed the case. Tokiomi Tohsaka, Emiya Kiritsugu, Kenneth, and others had spies planted near the ’Kotomine Church.’

Su Xiao entered a residential building with a sullen face. Soon after, Bubu Wang arrived with Sakura Matou and Matou Gan Ye.

Once everyone entered the residence, the surroundings became eerily quiet.

One kilometer away from Su Xiao’s location, Emiya Kiritsugu put down his binoculars. He was the Master of Saber(Knight of the Sword).

Emiya Kiritsugu was around thirty years old, with black hair, wearing a black windbreaker, black pants, and black shoes, all in black.

The reason for this attire was his habit of assassinating magicians at night. This clothing minimized exposure risks.

Emiya Kiritsugu was a Heroic Spirit Master, and his combat strength was not weak. Known as the Magician Killer, this guy was ruthless. He once extracted several ribs from his own body, ground them into powder, and used soul engineering to condense them into bullet heads. Bullets made from these heads were called ’Origin Bullets.’ When a magician was hit by an Origin Bullet, even if they didn’t die, a significant portion of their Magic Circuit would be destroyed.

”Was that the Heroic Spirit Master before? That black one should be Berserker.”

Emiya Kiritsugu picked up the sniper rifle next to him. At such a distance, he had an eighty percent hit rate.

Being mistaken for Berserker was normal for Matou Gan Ye, as this guy emitted black smoke all over, and the paint on him was dry, making the paint smell undetectable from afar.

”Should we take action or observe for now?”

Emiya Kiritsugu’s female assistant spoke. She was saved by Emiya Kiritsugu from the battlefield and was completely loyal to him, practically his weapon.

”Let’s observe first. I have a bad feeling. That Master isn’t right.”

The female assistant nodded. She would follow all of Emiya Kiritsugu’s actions.

”Should we ignore the other group?”

The female assistant took up the binoculars, looking towards the east. There was another Heroic Spirit and Master group.

”Ignore them. If I’m not mistaken, that’s Kenneth, the Master of Lancer. The best scenario now is for the Lancer camp to clash with the Berserker camp.”

Emiya Kiritsugu looked through the scope at the window of the residence where Su Xiao was. The curtains were already tightly drawn.

”Have they already noticed? Very alert.”

Emiya Kiritsugu placed his finger on the trigger of the sniper rifle, while the female assistant started assembling a large firearm, a sniper cannon.

This scene was captured by a blonde girl in a black suit, whose standout feature was a tuft of hair on her head. Her emerald-like eyes were pure, and her looks were impeccable.

Seeing Emiya Kiritsugu and the female assistant’s actions clearly displeased the girl with the tuft. She felt that this sneaky behavior was against the Knightly Spirit.

”Master, are we to win through sneak attacks?”

The tufted girl spoke. Her name was Artoria Pendragon, known as King Arthur in the legends of Ancient Britain, the Saber class among the seven Heroic Spirits this time around. Her personality was loyal, upright, humble, and polite, with a serious disposition. She inherited the Holy Sword Excalibur.

”Yes, it’s common sense to win with minimal losses, just like sacrificing a few to save many. You only need to stall the enemy’s Servant.”

Obviously, Emiya Kiritsugu and Saber’s compatibility was seriously misaligned.

Upon hearing Emiya Kiritsugu’s words, Saber’s brows furrowed, but she said nothing. It was also a bad trait to criticize others lightly.

This girl didn’t know; she could become a knight, even the legendary King of Knights, but she shouldn’t become a king. There’s no king without greed or selfish desires.

Elsewhere, in a rundown abandoned building.

A man in a mage robe leaned against the wall, his recent mood evident from his expression.

The man’s name was Kenneth El-Melloi Archibald, a lecturer from the Magician Association, a genius magician with high prestige among magicians.

As one of the Masters participating in this Holy Grail War, Kenneth was very displeased with his Servant, or rather, extremely displeased.

Originally, he could have summoned a stronger Servant. Unfortunately, due to a lost medium, he was forced to summon Lancer instead of Rider.

Summoning Lancer wasn’t a big deal, as each Heroic Spirit class had its advantages.

But what was really unfortunate was that he summoned Diarmuid Ua Duibhne. Diarmuid was reputed as the foremost warrior of the Knights of Fianna in Ireland, also known as Radiant Face Diarmuid.

According to legend, Diarmuid possessed a love spot bestowed by a fairy, causing any woman to fall unconditionally in love with him.

When Kenneth first summoned Diarmuid, he immediately saw the tear spot under his eye and panicked, doubting the truth of the legend.

If Kenneth were single, it wouldn’t be an issue. But he happened to have a very beautiful fiancée, and considering Diarmuid’s handsome appearance and the magical tear spot under his eye...

After some time with Diarmuid, Kenneth often felt his blond hair turning green, very green.
