Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1240: Chapter 1239: Dark Region (II)

When the gray dwarf came to his senses again, he was already heading deeper into the Dark Region.

Accompanied by a group of unexpected guests.

”Honorable sir, I really don’t know where the city of the Dark Elves is, those evil dark-skinned Fallen are very good at hiding themselves, please believe me, I can swear...”

The gray dwarf at this point wished for death; he felt like he had talked until his mouth was dry, yet the human in front of him remained unmoved.

”If you really don’t know, then keeping you around is of no use to us.”

Fang Zheng obviously didn’t take the gray dwarf’s words seriously, he yawned and calmly replied. As he spoke, the black Aliens surrounding the Earth Beast raised their heads and opened their mouths in the direction of the gray dwarf. Seeing this, the gray dwarf’s body began to tremble uncontrollably.

”Spare me, master, spare me, but I really don’t know, I don’t know...”

The gray dwarf kept pleading desperately. Seeing this, Akemi Homura remained expressionless, while Kurumi and Little Hei were more interested in the peculiar Earth Beasts. Only Walnut frowned and approached Fang Zheng.

”I say, Brother Fang Zheng, he might really not know.”

”Not know?”

Hearing Walnut’s words, Fang Zheng smiled and then reached out, casually opening the packages hanging from the sides of the Earth Beast’s body beneath him, taking out a beautifully packaged crossbow.

”Then tell me, where did you get this thing from?”

”This, this...”

Looking at the crossbow in Fang Zheng’s hand, the gray dwarf hesitated for a moment, but soon he spoke again.

”You have a good eye, sir, I did get this from the Dark Elves, but it’s not from a deal with them, it’s something I got off a Dark Elf’s corpse. That poor fellow seemed to have been attacked by a Scythe Monster, how unfortunate... I admit, scavenging from dead bodies isn’t very decent, but I truly don’t know where the city of the Dark Elves is!”

”You’d better know.”

Fang Zheng opened a bottle of fizzy drink and took a sip, then looked around. To be honest, after the initial novelty of the subterranean world wore off, the other girls appeared somewhat bored. This was also quite normal; were they on the surface, they might enjoy the scenery outside or catch some small animals to play with for a while, but here, there’s nothing but gray stone walls in the pitch-black tunnels that seem to lead endlessly into the Earth’s core.

This oppressive scene is enough to drive anyone mad, which is why very few humans dare to venture into the Dark Region. Here, even without the poisons and arrows from the darkness, just the environment itself is enough to drive people mad.

Fortunately, after finding the Earth Beasts of the caravan as a means of transportation, the five quickly found games to kill time.

”Little Hei! Fall back, don’t fight... Hey! What did I just say, don’t be reckless, hurry back, they’re pushing the tower!!”

Fang Zheng slapped his palm seeing the guard tower on the screen collapse.

”I told you to cower and not be reckless, is feeding the enemy enjoyable?”

”They killed me fair and square, why say I fed them?”

Little Hei wasn’t happy at all.

”Big brother, you’re supposed to support! Abandoning me, the ADC, is that right? If you hadn’t run away so quickly, how could I have been surrounded by three opponents?”

”I already told you there was a jungler coming from the river, warned you to retreat, yet you just had to push forward...”

”The opponents’ turret had only a sliver of health left, just one of my skills would destroy it!”

”And now aren’t you the one who got killed?! Besides, you missed that last shot!”

Fang Zheng sighed helplessly.

”Kurumi, guard the right side. Where’s the jungler? Walnut, what are you doing... you’re a physical profession, why are you fighting for the blue buff?”

”This is called dual cultivation of magic and physical strength! Look, I already have the red buff, if I also get the blue one, won’t I be invincible?”

”That blue buff was mine... never mind, go help Homura in the mid lane; she’s still getting the hang of it.”

Listening to the loud shouts of Fang Zheng and others riding the Earth Beast, the gray dwarf glanced at them silently. The young human male was clearly the leader. However, aside from the initial questioning, he mostly acted like the gray dwarf didn’t exist.

The gray dwarf thought about trying to escape, but every time he looked at the pitch-black mysterious creatures around him, he immediately abandoned the idea. He dared not risk his life to find out if these creatures would actually attack him.

Or rather, this didn’t need to be tested at all.

That, however, doesn’t mean he couldn’t do anything.

Thinking of this, the gray dwarf cautiously glanced at Fang Zheng, then secretly walked to the lead Earth Beast and tugged its reins. Very soon, as it continued moving forward, the lead Earth Beast slowly turned towards the right fork.

But at that moment, Fang Zheng’s voice suddenly rang out.

”Turn left.”

Upon hearing this, before the gray dwarf could react, the lead Beast obediently followed Fang Zheng’s command and veered onto the left fork.

How is this possible?!

Seeing this, the gray dwarf’s eyes widened in disbelief. It’s known that the Earth Beasts are the treasured transport of gray dwarves and are controlled by magic from a young age. Only gray dwarves, as their owners, can command them using Spell Talismans; others simply couldn’t direct them.

Yet this human male hadn’t used any magic at all; he just casually issued a command and the Earth Beast obeyed?

Who exactly are these humans?

Thinking this, the gray dwarf snuck a glance at Fang Zheng. Just then, Fang Zheng suddenly slapped his thigh.

”Damn! I told you not to be reckless! Now, look what happened, got wiped out again! Hurry up and revive, the enemy is pushing... forget it, forget it, let’s surrender! Restart the game!!”

”...”

What are they actually doing?

Seeing the humans shouting on the Earth Beasts, the gray dwarf admitted that he was completely baffled.

What kind of tactic is this?

And so, along the way, amidst this strange and bizarre situation, the gray dwarf was forced to lead these peculiar adventurers deeper into the Dark Region.

Logically speaking, being so noisy in the Dark Region would certainly attract a lot of ill-willed beings. Whether it’s the Necromancers, Scythe Monsters, or other bloodthirsty creatures, they would never let those idiotic enough to shout in the pitch-black world beneath escape.

Their fate is often to become a feast for other hunters in the endless darkness underground.

However... this rule had no effect on these peculiar adventurers.

The gray dwarf had seen adventurers before, especially human adventurers. They were foolish, reckless, naive, and fragile, basically useless apart from their courage. Many of them died from refusing to follow the rules of the Dark Region.

But now, this group not only ignored the rules of the Dark Region completely, but it was as though they ripped those rules off the wall and stomped them underfoot!

They constantly shouted loudly and occasionally shared some aromatic food — which in the Dark Region could be considered suicidal, as most subterranean predators have keen senses of smell and hearing. The roast meat and various foods they brought out were enough to attract a flock of Vulture Creatures for a feast!

However, what left the gray dwarf puzzled was this:

They encountered nothing along the way.

Moreover, several times the gray dwarf tried to lead them into complex forked paths on purpose, but each time he failed. The young human male seemed to know exactly how to reach the Dark Elves, correcting the gray dwarf’s ”errors” without even looking up.

After several failed attempts, the gray dwarf finally gave up.

What kind of creatures are these!

However, at this moment, Fang Zheng also sighed helplessly, set down his personal terminal, glanced at the gray dwarf, and leaned back on the saddle.

”Alright, now tell me, what’s been happening with the Dark Elves recently?”
