Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1212: Chapter 1211: Changing This World

With ”Ratziel” in hand, Fang Zheng easily accomplished the next steps. He directly ”convinced” Kamijou Kyousuke’s hospital and attending physician, and of course, also Kamijou Kyousuke himself. After all, for Kamijou Kyousuke, not being able to play the violin was as painful as death, so even if it was a clinical trial, he accepted it!

Better to die than to not play the violin!

However, the high technology of the Mass Effect World was, of course, a catch-all solution. Fang Zheng merely pretended to give Kamijou Kyousuke an anesthetic, then took out medical gel from his personal terminal and applied it to Kamijou Kyousuke.

And then there was no ”and then”.

Kamijou Kyousuke dying from complications was... impossible.

In fact, Kamijou Kyousuke’s hand was as good as new the next day.

This naturally left his attending physician in wonder, and they even approached Fang Zheng, hoping to contact their research institute to conduct more tests or acquire the rights to this treatment technology... Of course, Fang Zheng pushed it back, perhaps in the future when everything was over, he would indeed establish a research institute or technology center under false pretenses.

But right now, Fang Zheng had no such interest.

”Haaa...”

While feeling the power flowing incessantly within his body, Fang Zheng opened his eyes and sighed silently. He casually opened the system, stared at the Soulstone for a moment, then retracted his gaze and activated the personal terminal.

”Everyone, come to me.”

After a while, Little Sakura, Nanoha, Fate, Illya, Little Hei, and Shisei came to Fang Zheng’s room —— yes, this time, Fang Zheng only notified the people around him. As for Akemi Homura, Mami Tomoe, and Sakurazawa Kyoko, they were not included.

”Is there something you need from us, teacher?”

”Of course.”

Faced with Little Sakura’s inquiry, Fang Zheng nodded.

”You all have been in this world for a while, and now I think you should have noticed the issue with this world.”

Hearing this, the girls all nodded. They had been here long enough to fully understand the magical girl ecosystem of this world. It could be said that the survival environment for magical girls was harsher than they had imagined, almost like a dangerous primitive forest. Even magical girls would fight each other to compete for the Seed of Lament.

There were even magical girls like Sakurazawa Kyoko who would let Familiar Spirits harm humans to secure the Seed of Lament and extend their lives.

It was as if it were a food chain where the weak are prey to the strong, sending shivers down one’s spine.

Not to mention, all the magical girls they had rescued these days had tragic experiences. They all made wishes, only to be betrayed by them, then fell into a series of tragedies and despair, distorting and transforming into witches.

Although Fang Zheng used Magic Artifacts to temporarily protect their Soul Gems and provided Hard Light Armor as a substitute, even Nanoha and Little Sakura knew it was a stopgap measure and didn’t truly resolve the issue.

”Teacher, have you already found a solution?”

Little Sakura was now looking at Fang Zheng, filled with anticipation, and Fang Zheng nodded.

”I’ve found a solution, but... a few key points are quite difficult to determine.”

Fang Zheng sighed tiredly, and seeing his expression, the girls couldn’t help but feel nervous.

”Key points?”

”Yes... simply put, I can create a new system program to change the current situation. It would make magical girls in this world more akin to us; they wouldn’t turn into witches due to despair or exhausting their mana, but... witches must exist, and so must Familiar Spirits.”

”W-Why?”

Hearing this, Nanoha couldn’t help but ask.

”Because that damn QB has infiltrated the entire timeline.”

At the mention of this, Fang Zheng frowned. When he used the Time Dragon’s ability to observe everything, he realized that the Alien Race ”QB” had invaded Earth during the prehistoric era, clandestinely inserting themselves into human history since humans were in their primitive stages.

This led to the distorted magical girl system growing alongside human civilization, much like vines growing on a tree, the two forming an inseparable and tangled relationship.

”Given the current circumstances, I can’t entirely reset the system; doing so would mean first destroying the current human civilization, then recreating on the foundation of a new civilization... of course, that would be meaningless.”

Fang Zheng opened his hands helplessly, and upon hearing his words, the other girls were stunned, frowning. Clearly, they hadn’t anticipated things would develop like this.

”Then... what does teacher plan to do?”

”I’ve restructured the magical girl system’s core. Witches still exist, but this time they are a collection of evil and darkness released from deep within people’s hearts, and magical girls have to face the darkness within themselves. If they can overcome their inner darkness, they can gain great power... that’s roughly the setup.”

”.........”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s explanation, the girls once again fell into thought, then Shisei raised her hand.

”Teacher, um... you said that if they successfully conquer their inner darkness, they can gain great power and become magical girls, right.”

”Correct.”

”Then... what if they fail?”

”That’s the part that’s been giving me a headache... ”

Once this was mentioned, Fang Zheng started feeling the headache again.

If he were to redesign the system from scratch, Fang Zheng could easily remove the repercussions; failing could simply mean not becoming a magical girl, what’s the big deal?

But that wasn’t possible now; all Fang Zheng could do was dismantle the magical girl system created by the QB race and reassemble it. It’s like a word puzzle where you rearrange the same letters in different order or combination to create a completely different meaning.

At present, Fang Zheng had resolved the issues of ”witches”, ”Familiar Spirits”, ”Barrier”, ”Magical Girls”, ”Soul Gem contamination”, and then got stuck on the final ”Transformation”.

This could be considered the core of this cruel system, yet Fang Zheng hadn’t figured out how to set it up.

Transform into a witch upon failing the challenge? Hahaha, then how’s that different from QB’s system?

But to say a failed challenge wouldn’t incur any penalties isn’t practical either; it’s like designing a strategy game’s racial talent tree where you have to balance BUFFs with DEBUFFs. You can’t let one party take all the advantages.

After all, the world’s balance, if Fang Zheng set up the magical girls to have only benefits and no drawbacks, would induce ”self-adjustment” in the world, and who knows what might happen then.

However, as for how to resolve this ”Transformation”... Fang Zheng still had no clue.

Left with no choice, he had to seek others’ opinions, hoping they might have some good ideas.

After all, three cobblers combined make a Zhuge Liang.
