Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1206: Chapter 1205: Magical Girl Madoka (III)

What did Kyoko see?

As the enormous elevator slowly passed through the underground passage, the first thing she saw was a magnificent, grand library surrounded by densely packed bookshelves that were hundreds of meters high. Occasionally, Magical Girls could be seen shuttling between them (of course, these were cameo roles by Nanoha, Illya, and Little Sakura).

The place looked like a massive and majestic library. In the middle of it was a circular lake and a gigantic cherry blossom tree emitting a faint radiance. Hanging from the branches were several wind chimes, which emitted a crisp sound and glowed with a gentle light whenever the breeze blew......

Wait a minute, when was a secret base established here?

This was, of course, dug out by Fang Zheng himself for the ”dramatic effect”!

Carving out such a large secret base naturally required a significant amount of engineering, but for Fang Zheng, it was no problem at all. Although he couldn’t use his abilities, he had various items stored in his inventory for different situations.

In fact, this underground space already existed; it was essentially a hidden cavern. After Fang Zheng’s personal terminal scan revealed this cavern, he took a few Tanji from his inventory and directly connected the warehouse and the cave.

Wait, so where did all these bookshelves, cherry blossom trees, fountains, and whatnot come from?

This brings us to the great Forerunner technology—Hard Light.

Since acquiring the hard light skills in the Halo World, Fang Zheng has been exploring ways to apply them. And indeed, he found a method!

As is well known, the Forerunner’s hard light technology can materialize light, turning it into a solid form. Fang Zheng’s imagination instantly soared—it’s common knowledge that through virtual reality technology, light can be projected into the real world to form a holographic projection.

So, by combining this with the properties of hard light, couldn’t things that could only be displayed with light be transformed into reality?

And that’s how this enormous internal space was formed!

In fact, apart from installing the gravitational traction system after Tanji tunneled through the entire underground space, all Fang Zheng did was install a hard light mass generator in every corner of this underground hollow, and then connect it to his personal terminal. He then designed this scene directly in his personal terminal.

Then, with a light tap on the Enter key.

And just like that, the scene he designed was ”projected” into reality through the hard light mass generator!

Of course, the projection capability of the hard light mass generator isn’t omnipotent, but at least for now, it’s more than sufficient.

Kyoko, of course, wouldn’t know this. Therefore, upon seeing the mysterious and dazzling scene before her, she became so excited she nearly fainted with delight!

Meanwhile, Akemi Homura was also dumbfounded at this moment, unable to believe that Fang Zheng had actually gone to such an extent!

In fact, Fang Zheng didn’t create this space just for fun. Just like how he built his own powerhouses in both the Mass Effect World and Gundam World, he wouldn’t miss the opportunity in the Magical Girl world either. The library he’s working on right now is specifically for this purpose.

As for the name......

”Hello, welcome to the Immovable Grand Library.”

As Kyoko followed Akemi Homura, Sakurazawa Kyoko, and Mami Tomoe out of the elevator, they saw Shisei seated behind the desk, welcoming them like a librarian—yeah, this role was also prepared for Shisei by Fang Zheng because regardless of the situation, only Shisei could remain calm and perform exceptionally well.

Knowledge is power, as the saying goes.

”Hello, Shisei.”

Mami Tomoe was the first to go up, then she reached out to take a bookmark from her breast pocket, placing it in front of Shisei, who smiled and took the bookmark, adding it to a nearby book.

”Hope you enjoy a wonderful story today, as well.”

As Shisei’s voice fell, the massive bookshelf behind her slowly opened, revealing a deep passage inside, and Mami Tomoe and Akemi Homura took Kyoko and walked right in.

Along the way, Kyoko was naturally gawking left and right, unable to take it all in.

But suddenly, a voice filled with pride and provocation rang out.

”Oh my, isn’t this Akemi Homura-sister? It’s so rare to see you here. Who’s the little puppy behind you that looks like it was picked up off the street? Are you planning to care for and protect stray animals recently?”

The only person who could say such lines was Little Hei. She was with Illya, approaching from the side, blocking their path and initiating a fierce mockery of Akemi Homura.

Indeed, this is the typical Hollywood blockbuster routine. In the hero’s growth process, there’s always a rival to confront them. Though they may dislike each other, when facing the final Boss, the guy who used to oppose the hero will switch sides, fighting alongside the hero, even sacrificing for them......

It’s all part of the trope.

However, when setting up this character, there was a little problem.

As is well known, in Fang Zheng’s setup of this ”Magical Girl Madoka” universe, the Magical Girls affiliated with the ”Immovable Grand Library” come in pairs, referring to each other as sisters. For example, Mami Tomoe and Anzu, and Akemi Homura with soon-to-be Magical Girl Kyoko. Naturally, Illya and Little Hei are sisters as well.

But this leads to a problem, which is......

Who’s the older sister?

This has been a historical issue for Illya and Little Hei. Of course, from Fang Zheng’s perspective, it really doesn’t matter whether Little Hei is crafted into a sharp-tongued older sister or a black-bellied younger sister. However, those two didn’t agree, so Fang Zheng had to use the fairest method to silence them.

And that was———drawing lots.

As expected, Illya won again, becoming the older sister, and Little Hei had to settle as the black-bellied, sharp-tongued younger sister.

To vent her frustrations, Little Hei skipped the script altogether and unleashed a torrent of sharp-tongued comments on Kyoko and Akemi Homura. But she at least remembered her task, so at most, Little Hei stuck to the plot, indicating Akemi Homura had no taste, and how could this kid possibly become a Magical Girl? Look at how cowardly she is, she’s like a little squirrel!

Finally, Little Hei even left a standard foreshadowing line: ”This child definitely won’t survive Witch’s Night!” before being pulled away by Illya.

Alright, with the ”storyline” developed to this point, at least Kyoko, like the viewers, now had a general understanding of her situation. Then, led by the three, Kyoko arrived at the top floor of the Grand Library and met———the Director!

Of course, the role of the Director was personally starred by Fang Zheng.

A round of applause is in order! (clap clap clap clap)

”Is she the Apprentice Magical Girl you recommended?”

Fang Zheng stood up from behind his desk, smiling at Kyoko in front of him. Kyoko felt a bit uneasy, unsure how to respond. But Fang Zheng didn’t mind; he walked out from behind the desk, approached Kyoko, and looked at her.

”Have you already made your decision? You must know that being a Magical Girl is extremely dangerous. Although you’ll gain great power, in return, you’ll also bear heavy responsibilities...... This isn’t a joke. Don’t think of joining this world with a playful mindset because...... this is beyond your imagination.”

”.........”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s words, Kyoko was also hesitant. She looked up at Akemi Homura, whose expression was equally complicated. But Akemi Homura only looked at Kyoko coldly and said.

”The decision is entirely yours.”

”This...... I......”

However, Kyoko obviously struggled to make up her mind. If she were the Kyoko from another world who already had a deep connection with Akemi Homura, she might have decided to join. But for now, to Kyoko, Akemi Homura was just a somewhat strange new transfer student who had transferred in only a few days ago and wasn’t familiar with her.

So......

”I’m really sorry, um...... I currently don’t want to become a Magical Girl......”

Ultimately, after much hesitation, Kyoko still refused.
