Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1209: Chapter 1208: Magical Girl Madoka (VI)

As for this part of the storyline, Fang Zheng remembered it very clearly.

Because Akemi Homura had told him, in her countless loops, there were a few ”events” that would never change.

For instance, QB is always tirelessly encouraging Madoka to sign the contract, and then there’s the appearance of Witch’s Night, followed by Miki Sayaka’s darkening.

According to Akemi Homura, if Miki Sayaka didn’t sign the contract to become a Magical Girl, it would be fine, but once she did, she would inevitably darken, warp, and become a Witch, only to die!

No exceptions!!

To be honest, Akemi Homura didn’t have any favorable impressions of Miki Sayaka. There are always those people in the world one can never seem to get along with, even at the first meeting, both can sense that they absolutely don’t see eye to eye. And Akemi Homura and Miki Sayaka were like that, so even in numerous loops, Akemi Homura often couldn’t be bothered to pay attention to Miki Sayaka. Whether she lived or died, what did it have to do with her?

However, unfortunately, she couldn’t do that.

Because Miki Sayaka was Madoka’s friend, and if she died, Madoka would be sad. Madoka might even decide to sign the contract with QB to save her friend — this wasn’t unheard of before!

And it all started because Miki Sayaka’s childhood friend was hospitalized due to an unexpected injury, and because his hand was crippled, he couldn’t play the violin. Thus, Miki Sayaka, with a strong sense of self-sacrifice, signed the contract with QB, wishing for her childhood friend’s hand to be healed.

Of course, this was all because Miki Sayaka secretly liked her childhood friend.

But how did that song go?

I should be under the car, not in the car, seeing how sweet you both are... no, no, it should be... A fragile soul, sunk too deep, why do you love another behind my back...

Indeed, while Miki Sayaka was signing the contract with QB to become a Magical Girl and working hard, she didn’t know her childhood friend had secretly gotten close to her own friend!

Of course, this isn’t much, considering Miki Sayaka herself was having a crush, and people wouldn’t know her thoughts, having their own feelings is normal.

However, Sayaka evidently couldn’t easily accept this reality, knowing that she became a Magical Girl to heal her childhood friend’s hand, and lived a life of fighting and slashing daily, yet... you actually went to find another woman for pleasure?!

After all, she’s just a teenage girl, even in reality, such love triangles have led to people jumping off buildings in a fit of rage, let alone here.

So after realizing her situation, Sayaka broke down and changed from a Magical Girl to a Witch.

Well, at least in Akemi Homura’s view, she at least personally proved her assertions correct for others once.

But now, she had no choice but to ask Fang Zheng for help.

Because Akemi Homura herself... had no idea what to do.

The initial Akemi Homura was just a shy, introverted girl not good at communication, though other than not being overweight, calling Akemi Homura an otaku wouldn’t be wrong.

Even later, by some chance, she became a Magical Girl, she only got close to those she had a good relationship with, like Mami Tomoe and Madoka. Look, Akemi Homura had looped a hundred and eighty times, yet she couldn’t even remember the names of her classmates. What more could be said?

In fact, current Akemi Homura wasn’t any different from her initial self; she just disguised herself with a cold, emotionless facade.

So after learning this news from Madoka, Akemi Homura became very anxious. She wanted to help Sayaka directly, but it wasn’t easy to speak up—in this world, she and Sayaka were mostly strangers, not having spoken a single word. How to help?

Thus, Akemi Homura had no choice but to contact Fang Zheng for help.

”Got it. I’ll come right away, give me ten minutes.”

After receiving Akemi Homura’s plea for help, Fang Zheng decisively responded and then drove directly to a fast food restaurant on Mitakihara shopping street.

There, Akemi Homura and Madoka were still sitting opposite each other in silence.

”Um... Homura, is this tasty?”

”It’s okay.”

”Do you want me to get you another drink?”

”No need.”

”Um... will Mr. Fang Zheng really come? Won’t this matter be too troublesome for him?”

”...I don’t know.”

When Fang Zheng walked into the fast food restaurant, this scene, which made him tilt his head and sigh, was what he saw.

Madoka trying hard to chat, while Homura was responding intermittently. Outsiders might think Akemi Homura was lazy to deal with Madoka Kaname, but Fang Zheng could see Akemi Homura was also unsure inside, not knowing what to say, so she simply said nothing, maintaining the minimum level of conversation.

”Hi, how are you guys?”

Seeing the awkward atmosphere freezing in the air, Fang Zheng hurriedly walked over with a smile and greeted the two. Hearing Fang Zheng’s voice, both Madoka and Homura looked up at him, and then Madoka immediately smiled happily and stood up. Homura also slightly twitched the corners of her mouth, but quickly returned to her original expressionless state.

And Fang Zheng nodded to Madoka and then sat down.

”Alright, I already know the details, so what do you want us to do?”

”Um... I just want to help Sayaka and Kamijou... uh... I heard it’s very difficult to fully heal Kamijou’s hand, so... I wonder if Mr. Fang Zheng could help...”

Faced with Fang Zheng’s inquiry, even Madoka was stammering, but still managed to articulate her thoughts.

Essentially, Madoka heard from Sayaka that modern science and technology couldn’t heal her childhood friend’s hand, and witnessing her friend’s deep dejection, she thought of the mysterious ”Heavenly Dao Palace Magical Girl Management Office” to request help.

After all, in Madoka’s eyes, magic is mysterious and powerful, so maybe magic could handle what technology couldn’t?

”Hmm... that’s no problem at all.”

Upon hearing Madoka’s words, Fang Zheng thought for a moment, then nodded. Hearing this response, Madoka immediately jumped up excitedly.

”Thank you, Mr. Fang Zheng. Um... may I ask... what do you need us to do?”

Madoka wasn’t stupid; she knew there were no free lunches. Since Fang Zheng agreed to their request, he must want something in return.

”Of course.”

This time, Fang Zheng ignored the attempts of Akemi Homura, who was earnestly tugging at his sleeve, and smiled at Madoka.

”Previously, you refused to become an Apprentice Magical Girl...”

”Oh, are you saying I should...”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s words, Madoka’s expression changed slightly, but Fang Zheng waved his hand to interrupt her.

”Please let me finish, Ms. Madoka Kaname. Our Heavenly Dao Palace is not a charity organization. Sure, helping an ordinary person is not an issue for us. However, we can’t help for free. So, I won’t ask you to join our organization immediately, but I require you and your friend... Miki Sayaka, right? To work for us as apprentices.”

”Apprentices...?”

”Simply put, like a part-time job. You primarily handle logistics, such as organizing documents, serving tea, and water... I think that shouldn’t be a problem for you, right?”

”Of course not!!”

Hearing this, Madoka finally relaxed, joyfully nodding. Fang Zheng’s meaning was clear, letting her and Sayaka work off their debt, and honestly, this was rather easier for Madoka to accept.

”But... can we really tell Sayaka about the Heavenly Dao Palace?”

”Of course, if you’re willing, you can come directly to find me tomorrow to discuss it.”

In response to Madoka’s slightly uneasy query, Fang Zheng quickly gave an answer.
