Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1227: Chapter 1226: The Opening of Witch’s Night

The rain keeps falling.

The rain that started in the evening lasted the entire night before stopping. Distant thunder clouds kept swirling, casting a gloomy shadow over all of Mitakihara.

Meanwhile, on the streets, you can hear the sound of a broadcast from afar.

”At 7 AM today, with the abnormal weather, an evacuation notice has been issued. Nearby residents are advised to evacuate to designated locations immediately...”

”Uh... uh, I know, Mom. Don’t worry, I’m at the shelter. You don’t have to worry about me.”

Kyoko finished the call and let out a breath, while nearby, Saya was watching her with some concern.

”How is it?”

”Well, as Mr. Fang Zheng said, it’s good to have prepared in advance.”

Kyoko also let out a breath.

Compared to the technology of this world, Fang Zheng’s is definitely more advanced and specialized. In fact, as early as yesterday, Fang Zheng noticed signs of the Witch’s Night appearing. So he asked Kyoko to call home and tell her mother that she would be playing at a friend’s house tonight. This way, when the evacuation alarm was issued the next day, Kyoko wouldn’t have to go to the shelter with her family.

Fang Zheng kept Kyoko behind also out of an abundance of caution. According to Homura, Kyoko seems to have a ”special attack” against the Witch’s Night. Although as of now, Kyoko has not signed a contract with Fang Zheng to become a Magical Girl, she has already decided to go to the scene as part of the support team.

After all, this battle is different from the dozens of previous Witch’s Night battles; Fang Zheng currently has more than twenty magical girls, who can completely form teams and rotate to fight. Kyoko’s role is to act as support on the battlefield, caring for the magical girls who may withdraw due to injury or fatigue.

As for Miki Sayaka, although Fang Zheng allowed her to go back and stay with her parents, she still decided to stay with Kyoko.

It must be said that the experiences of these magical girls really shocked them, especially the deaths of those two magical girls, followed by the crowd’s revelry, which made them deeply feel a sense of pain and responsibility.

”They have given everything to protect our world, and all I can do is my part.”

In fact, after that, Kyoko also approached Fang Zheng, expressing her willingness to become a magical girl and fight side by side with others. At that time, Akemi Homura was beside her, but she remained silent as if she didn’t care about Kyoko’s thoughts at all. However, after hearing Kyoko’s request, Fang Zheng only said one thing.

”If you just find these magical girls tragic and pitiful and want to join them for that reason, Anzu will beat you up.”

Kyoko immediately retreated.

She certainly didn’t want to be caught and beaten by Anzu.

Just then, a rapid bell rang in the Grand Library, and upon hearing it, Sayaka’s face changed slightly.

”Are you ready, Kyoko?”

”Yes!”

Kyoko clenched her hands, nodded, and then ran out swiftly.

When Kyoko and Sayaka arrived at the square outside the Grand Library, the magical girls had already gathered there, with Fang Zheng standing in front, alongside Akemi Homura.

Unlike other magical girls, Akemi Homura has not undergone Fang Zheng’s trial; she is still an original magical girl. This made the others a bit puzzled. From their perspective, Akemi Homura seemed to have a closer relationship with Fang Zheng, yet she had never transformed into the ”new version” of magical girls, stirring some curiosity.

Some asked Fang Zheng, but he only replied that ”the time is not yet right.”

The girls were a bit curious but did not overthink it.

They now feel the world’s malice and kindness very clearly. Since Fang Zheng said the time is not yet right, it’s not yet right; there’s no need to contemplate further.

”The Witch’s Night is about to appear.”

Seeing all the girls gathered, Fang Zheng nodded and then quickly spoke.

”You should know what to do; you’ve all clearly understood in the past few days. You are battle-hardened warriors; you should know what to do without me saying. But I still need to mention one thing.”

While speaking, Fang Zheng patted Akemi Homura’s shoulder beside him, then looked at the magical girls ahead.

”Not long ago, I met with QB and communicated with it.”

”???”

Hearing this, many magical girls widened their eyes in surprise, whispering among themselves, but most continued to watch Fang Zheng, awaiting his next words. Fang Zheng took a deep breath and then continued.

”After communication, I can confirm that the QB and its representing civilization, due to its own selfishness, has damaged human civilization. They use witches and magical girls to transform energy for their own use. Their actions severely affect and threaten the safety of Earth and human civilization, therefore, I represent the Heavenly Dao Palace in declaring war against QB and its civilization!”

After Fang Zheng’s words, the magical girls fell silent for a long time, looking at each other, seemingly not understanding Fang Zheng’s words at first. But soon, these girls seemed to realize something, and their expressions began to change.

It was like someone carrying out a peasant rebellion; initially, those peasants only wanted to overthrow the officials exploiting them, but the leader told them ”Heaven is dead; let Yellow Heaven rise,” that they’re not just overthrowing certain officials but the entire Imperial Court!

Then, everyone erupted into cheers like a volcanic explosion. Many shouted, waved their hands. It was like fangirling at a king of pop concert.

Fang Zheng stretched his hand downward to calm them, and this time, the magical girls quickly fell silent, but unlike before, this time, their eyes glowed with a certain radiance.

”If my estimate is correct, then this battle against the Witch’s Night is a key part of the war against QB civilization. So, you must exert all efforts, follow the battle plan to complete the mission, and no disobedience! Understand?!”

”Yes!”

This time, everyone answered in unison.

”Good.”

Hearing their responses, Fang Zheng nodded in satisfaction, then waved his hand.

”Move out!!”

Since everyone had evacuated, Fang Zheng and his group met no obstacles and easily arrived at the location where the Witch’s Night would land. The sky was already filled with dark clouds, thunder roared, and everyone stood at the riverside, watching the embankment ahead with solemn expressions.

Soon, a dense fog emerged from the riverbank’s other side, gradually spreading over, then enveloping the entire world.

The magical girls didn’t mind this, as many witches’ barriers were similar.

Then, under Fang Zheng’s lead, everyone moved forward.

”Woo———!!”

Suddenly, the sound of an elephant’s roar was heard, and alongside them, countless elephants slowly moved forward, like a grand parade at a circus, inaugurating the ”feast.”

Soon, the mist cleared, revealing a giant witch in front of everyone.

It was an upside-down witch, with its entire body pierced onto giant gears, hanging upside-down in the sky above everyone, emitting a bizarre laughter.

”Let me go first.”

Looking at the witch ahead, Fang Zheng sighed, and then he stepped forward again, soon enveloped in bright red flames, and the radiant Red Ponytail appeared once more.

Honestly, Fang Zheng no longer feels resistant to transforming in public.

After all, the saying goes: enjoy the thrill of cross-dressing; keep doing it and you’ll keep enjoying it...

”Hoo...”

Gripping the Pitch Black Greatsword in his hand, Fang Zheng took a deep breath and then swung fiercely!

”Boom———!!”

The blazing Primordial Fire erupted, transforming into a Fire Dragon rushing towards the witch in the sky, striking the witch’s body directly. Soon, a semi-transparent shield suddenly appeared, blocking Fang Zheng’s attack, and meanwhile, a ”system warning” appeared in front of Fang Zheng again.

Just as expected.

Seeing this, Fang Zheng frowned and then lowered the longsword in his hand. Given Fang Zheng’s previous experiences, many so-called ”BOSS” in those worlds seemed connected with a certain ”Origin” of the world; if you stubbornly use external forces against it, it could cause the destruction of the world’s core.

Before, when dealing with Monster World’s Gorilla and Halo World’s Forerunner, similar situations had occurred, but using their original world’s power to weaken them, Fang Zheng could eliminate them directly.

So...

Fang Zheng turned around and looked at the magical girls behind him, making a gesture.

”Next, it’s up to you.”
