Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 399: Chapter 398: The Steady Construction of the Heavenly Dao Palace

”Sigh...”

Having put down the documents in his hands, Fang Zheng lifted his head to look out the window. As far as the eye could see, there was an endless grassland, as well as a river and lakes in the distance, and the European-style town, and... three schools built on a hill not too far away.

These were the three schools Fang Zheng had ultimately chosen from the exchange list. While these schools were separate from each other, they shared a dormitory building. For Fang Zheng, this design was quite to his liking for the time being. In the end, he had spent five thousand Furniture Coins to exchange for these three schools and placed them on the hill not far from the town below. With this, the goals in Fang Zheng’s plan were largely achieved.

And this was also the embryonic form of the administrative system of the Heavenly Dao Palace that Fang Zheng had designed.

The three schools were respectively managed by Black Katie, Tilia, and Nymph. Due to the different division of labor, the characteristics of the three schools were also different. Of course, following the nature of these three Summoned beings, the names of the three schools were also modified.

First was Black Katie’s ”Hall of the Star Dawn” — just like the Hall of the Star Dawn in the World of Shana, Black Katie was primarily responsible for cultivating talents for frontline combat and maintaining order. Fumie Busei, Senju Natsuyo, and Tina belonged to this academy. If one had to say, what Black Katie cultivated were the ”police” who would uphold the peace of the entire Heavenly Dao Palace and the ”army” responsible for external combat and defense.

Next was Tilia’s ”Cradle Garden” — the complete opposite of the Hall of the Star Dawn, Tilia cultivated administrative talents. This included processing documents, internal affairs management, and learning and cultivation across various layers such as diplomacy. It could be said that Tilia and Black Katie were opposite in terms of scholarship and martial prowess, forming a complementary relationship.

And Nymph’s ”Synapsus” was a completely different construct — Little Angel was in charge of all things technology and skills. That is to say, this place was in charge of the technological development and upgrading of the Heavenly Dao Palace. Following Nymph’s suggestions, she planned to combine the technology of Synapsus with the Alchemy of the Main World to develop a new system suited for Heavenly Dao Palace. Of course, Fang Zheng had no objections to this.

Since the Heavenly Dao Palace was significantly understaffed, Fang Zheng had no choice but to employ the ”Sister System” he had seen in many yuri animations — meaning to pair up lower-grade students with upper-grade students to form sisterly bonds, caring for each other. At least with this, the shortage of manpower could be minimized.

Of course, since these Cursed Children were good kids, there was no need to worry about them causing any trouble. However, due to the lack of manpower, even the teaching methods were a bit unconventional. Black Katie, Tilia, and Nymph did not opt to teach everyone. Instead, they first selected a group of relatively intelligent Cursed Children who could easily absorb knowledge. They taught these children sufficient knowledge and content, and once they mastered it, these Cursed Children were to take on the role of teachers and instruct the other students.

This meant that the priority for these three schools was to cultivate ”teachers” rather than ”students,” and it was a good thing that the Cursed Children themselves were generally beings of exceptional intelligence and memory. Otherwise, ordinary children would definitely not be able to withstand this kind of cramming education.

Beyond this, Fang Zheng also had to consider designing his own currency system for the Heavenly Dao Palace — as for the materials needed for life, he was not worried, for with ”Void Domain” and ”Masquerade Ball” in the World of Shana as his support, Fang Zheng could obtain almost any supplies he needed indefinitely. But Fang Zheng was not inclined to let the Cursed Children develop a habit of getting something for nothing, so he also expended a great deal of effort in designing the entire system. Luckily, as a game designer, Fang Zheng was no stranger to designing these types of consumption systems, so he quickly found a solution.

Just like with mobile games, those Cursed Children who completed the basic courses could obtain ”Guaranteed Points.” They could use these points to maintain a minimum standard of living. On top of that, if anyone made an outstanding contribution or performed exceptionally, they would receive ”Reward Points.”

And points themselves were divided into ”Individual,” ”Class,” ”School,” and ”Group” categories. Violating rules or causing damage to the Heavenly Dao Palace would result in a deduction of points in the corresponding category. Other than individual points, the remaining three types of points would be combined and then distributed to the Cursed Children based on the principle of equal distribution.

This meant that even if someone was not very outstanding on their own, if they could help their class or school achieve excellent performance, they would also receive a good number of points to allocate and use. Conversely, even if a person had a lot of individual points, if there were too many deductions in other areas, then the points they received would be reduced.

```
And the final ”group” Points, Fang Zheng used them specifically for ”large-scale instance activities,” such as when he entered a new world or when the Heavenly Dao Palace needed a massive general mobilization to respond to attacks, defense, or certain missions. Fang Zheng would initiate ”group tasks,” allowing all Cursed Children to participate. Thus, if he could obtain a high evaluation in the instance world in the future, these children would naturally receive additional substantial point awards.
Beyond this, there were a variety of rules and administrative orders, as well as communication and coordination with the outside world on behalf of the Heavenly Dao Palace, coupled with adjustments to existing worlds...
”Haah... It’s really killing me...”
Reaching out to press a hand against his forehead, Fang Zheng let out a long sigh. These days he had been tired to death almost every day; just creating these rules was exhausting enough, not to mention that he also needed to contend for Black Katie, Tilia, and Nymph’s opinions. And if problems arose during the implementation, the rules and commands would have to be modified again...
He had not anticipated that building an organization from scratch would be so headache-inducing, not to mention that he was currently understaffed, which was even more burdensome. Fortunately, Black Katie’s charisma wasn’t too bad, as she had been able to recruit several Followers of the Crimson Realm from the Masquerade Ball to help. Otherwise, the situation might have become even worse.
Thinking of this, Fang Zheng put down the pen in his hand, and then he saw Little Black Cat jump over and snuggle against his hand. Looking at the little kitten acting spoiled in his hands, Fang Zheng showed a trace of a smile and reached out to touch the little one’s belly.
Indeed, only stroking a cat could relieve fatigue.
”Thump thump thump.”
Just as Fang Zheng was considering taking a break with a cup of tea, a sudden knock on the door echoed, and hearing it, he let out an exasperated sigh.
”Come in.”
”I’m sorry to disturb you... Big Brother...”
Accompanying the gentle voice, Fumie Busei entered the room.
”Is there something you need, Midori?”
”Yes, it’s like this...”
Facing Fang Zheng’s inquiry, Fumie Busei lowered her head somewhat uneasily.
```

”This... Natsuse said she found someone outside the Heavenly Dao Palace... It seems they were looking for you, Big Brother...”

”Oh?”

Upon hearing this, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but be taken aback.

”Looking for me?”

Waves rippled, endless in sight.

What kind of God-forsaken place is this?

As the woman stood on what could barely be called an islet of rocks, she was on the verge of tears. She glanced at the distant ship behind her and stamped her foot hard against the ground.

”Really, Sister Ogrande, all I did was complain a few times, is there any need to maroon me in this hellish place... You said there was someone... But where is anyone here?!”

As she spoke, the woman looked back at the ship again—she certainly didn’t hope to see it turn around and leave, that would mean she was being left here all alone.

”Hmm... What should I do now...”

While the woman was in distress, suddenly, a calm and indifferent voice sounded from behind her.

”May I ask if you need anything?”

”Ahh!!”

The woman, startled by the sudden voice behind her, leaped forward and tentatively looked back. That’s when she discovered a young girl, who looked to be around seven or eight years old with golden hair and wearing peculiar clothes, standing not far behind her, staring curiously.

”You, where did you... come from?”

While speaking, the woman looked around—this wretched place was so small and she hadn’t seen a soul just a moment ago.

”May I ask if you need anything?”

But the girl didn’t answer her question and instead repeated her own, causing the woman facing her to sigh in resignation.

”Well... I am Maria Wester of the Platinum Star Family. I’ve been ordered by Master Sister Ogrande to come here in search of Lord Fang Zheng... Is he here?”

”You’re looking for Brother Fang Zheng?”

Upon hearing this, the girl’s expression changed slightly.

”What do you need from Brother Fang Zheng?”

”This... may I ask who you are...”

”I am Brother Fang Zheng’s maid.”

What a strange title.

Hearing the girl’s response, Maria looked her over with curiosity. It was not uncommon for someone so young to serve as a maid among the nobility, but such servants typically behaved with great respect. Yet she referred to her master as ’Brother,’ which was somewhat irreverent, and Maria had never seen the kind of outfit the girl was wearing before... Regardless, she had finally found the right person!

”If that’s the case, then please give this invitation to Lord Fang Zheng.”

Realizing that she could finally complete her mission, Maria breathed a sigh of relief, then took out an invitation from her bosom and handed it over.

”This is an invitation from the Platinum Star Family.”
