Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 381: Chapter 380: A Calm Daily Life and an Unstable World (Part 1)

”...Pay attention to this part, remember, when a particle is in superposition of state ψ1 and state ψ2, it exists simultaneously in states ψ1 and ψ2...”

Looking at the children below, Nymph picked up the pointer and tapped the blackboard in front of her.

”So next, we’ll talk about many-particle... Ah, time’s up.”

Glancing at the clock in front of her, Little Angel put down the pointer.

”So, that’s all for today. Do you all understand?”

”Yes———!!”

”Very good.”

Looking at the children in front of her, Nymph nodded in satisfaction.

”These kids are quite smart, quite different from the ordinary Ground Worms. So... any questions?”

As she spoke, Nymph was preparing to dismiss the class. From her experience, as soon as she announced class was over, the children would immediately run out to play with joy. However, to Little Angel’s surprise, today the students didn’t leave immediately as she had expected. Instead, they glanced at each other, and then one of them, as if chosen as their representative, raised their hand.

”Teacher Nymph, I have a question!”

”What’s the question?”

”That... Teacher Nymph, the collar around your neck, what is that?”

”This?”

Upon hearing this question from the ”Cursed Child,” Nymph instinctively reached out to touch the collar around her neck. She had encountered this question more than once, both in the Main World and elsewhere. But that was no wonder; compared to other Angels, Nymph’s collar was so large it could nearly bury her chin, and combined with her petite and cute appearance, the huge metal collar was all the more conspicuous. Basically, anyone who saw it would be curious.

”This is a sign of my allegiance to my master.”

Nymph certainly didn’t think there was anything wrong with saying this; in fact, it was her pride.

”It’s a bond between my master and me, and proof that I belong to my master.”

”Wow...”

For some reason, upon hearing Nymph’s answer, the children below all let out sounds of amazement.

”Sister Nymph, the master you’re talking about is Elder Brother, right? Are you married to him?”

”Married?”

This time, Nymph was genuinely taken aback.

Married to her master?

For Nymph, it was quite an unexpected question. In Synapsus, Artificial Angels are considered property of their masters, and there is no such thing as marriage, for she is an Omnipotent Angel belonging only to her master, his private property. From a certain perspective... this relationship might seem even closer than marriage.

”I am not married to my master.”

Thinking this, Nymph shook her head and, hearing her answer, the ”Cursed Children” below became excited once again.

”Then, Sister Nymph, what kind of person does Elder Brother like?”

”Someone with long hair? Or someone with a gentle personality?”

”Is it better to marry someone younger or older?”

”Well, the master doesn’t seem to be particularly concerned about that...”

”Then, will he marry Sister Black Katie and Sister Tilia? And, and what about Natsuse and Midori...”

For a moment, the classroom became increasingly chaotic, and Nymph, with her eyes wide open, watched the excited children in front of her, unsure of what to say. Just then, suddenly, a sweet voice emerged quietly.

”Oh, it seems quite lively here, what are you all talking about?”

”————— !!”

The moment they heard this voice, the children who were previously overexcited instantly turned pale and obediently shut their mouths. The once bustling stepped classroom returned to its prior tranquility. Following that, the classroom door opened, and Tilia entered with a parasol in hand, wearing a gentle, sweet smile.

”I believe I heard the words ’Elder Brother’ and ’marriage’... Are you all so interested in whom Elder Brother will marry?”

”No, no, we were just...”

At that moment, the girl who stood up was also pale. If there was anyone the ”Cursed Children” feared the most in the Heavenly Dao Palace, it wasn’t Black Katie, who seemed distant and silent, nor the always gentle and compliant Nymph, but rather the always smiling Tilia.

After all, Black Katie only looked indifferent but was in fact very approachable. And naturally, there was even less need to talk about Nymph, who seemed just a few years older than the ”Cursed Children” and was very gentle, so she was quite beloved by them. On the other hand, Tilia, despite always wearing a proper smile and looking gentle and approachable, would mete out relentless punishment to any ”Cursed Child” who broke the rules.

Although ”Cursed Children” were essentially kind-hearted, due to often being vagrants, some inevitably wouldn’t follow the rules or would be mischievous. And when that happened, it was Tilia’s turn to step in.

No one knew what Tilia did, because generally speaking, ”Cursed Children” had a high tolerance for physical punishment, and even corporal punishment rarely had any effect. But what Tilia did was merely to call the child who had erred out with a smile, and by the next day when they returned, their expressions would be as though they had survived the end of the world. Even when asked by others, they would say nothing and just shake their heads desperately.

And that made the ”Cursed Children” even more fearful. Hence, seeing Tilia now stirred the initial reaction of dread in the children’s hearts, fearing they would be singled out by her for some ”re-education”...

”Huff huff huff...”

But this time, Tilia didn’t ”make an example” of anyone. Instead, she narrowed her eyes and smiled, watching the ”Cursed Children” before her.

”Indeed, Elder Brother hasn’t married anyone yet, but who knows about the future... Ah, but it doesn’t matter, because Elder Brother can marry more than one person, so there is a chance for others too. Right, Sister Nymph?”

”Ah... um...”

Facing Tilia’s question, Nymph was taken aback before she absentmindedly nodded. Synapsus had no rules about marriage, and Nymph didn’t care about or investigate the concept of marriage in this world... but since Tilia said so, it must be correct.

However, what puzzled Nymph was that at Tilia’s words, several ”Cursed Children’s” eyes sparkled with a crimson glow, and she sensed a huge fluctuation in their emotions—was the master’s marriage such an important matter to them?

”Well, that’s it for this lesson; class dismissed.”

Though curious inwardly, Nymph didn’t dwell on the trivial matter. She quickly announced the end of class and left the classroom with Tilia. Tilia, however, lent an ear and began chuckling lightly.

”Quite amusing, isn’t it? Sister Nymph?”

”Amusing?”

Nymph could feel that as soon as she and Tilia left the classroom, the classroom erupted like a pot boiling over with chatter such as ”Tina, we are not rivals now, let’s work together to marry Brother Zheng” and ”I want to be Brother Fang Zheng’s bride” and similar exclamations.

”Is getting married such an exciting event?”

”Perhaps for humans it is, as it’s also a form of commemoration. But these children are really funny. I would like to see the expression on Elder Brother’s face if they actually proposed to him...”

With that, Tilia’s lips curled up once again into a smug smile.

”It would definitely be a very amusing scene...”
