Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 377: Chapter 376: Let Them See the Power of the Coordinator!

The helicopter howled past overhead.

Fang Zheng sat in a chair, watching the serious-faced children before him, while echoes of the previous conversation with the Holy Son played in his mind.

”Considering the urgency of the situation, the National Congress is willing to pass Mr. Fang Zheng’s proposal, but they have their own conditions. They want to witness the combat abilities of these children firsthand, to be precise, they must confirm that these children are indeed capable of eliminating the threat posed by the Intestinal Creatures.”

This was only to be expected, the main point of Fang Zheng’s negotiations with the Holy Son hinged on this; but if the ”Cursed Children” couldn’t demonstrate sufficiently strong power, then naturally, the National Congress would not pass the bill.

”So next, you must show your own power. I will have Sima Heavy Industry provide weapons for all of you... I wish you all good fortune in war.”

Fang Zheng pulled himself back from his thoughts and looked at the children in front of him.

Their next destination was the intersection between Boundary Monoliths 12 and 13. According to intelligence, a large number of Intestinal Creatures had gathered there, with a tendency to keep advancing. And the mission of Fang Zheng and the others was to eliminate all of these Intestinal Creatures.

Although it’s said that the Hua Stone-made boundary monoliths can prevent Intestinal Creatures, this wasn’t 100% effective. Because the effect of the monoliths is a circle centered on them, and naturally, the farther from the monolith, the weaker the effect of the Hua Stone boundary monoliths. And the joint point between two boundary monoliths was naturally the weakest spot in the magnetic field.

Even if it is the weakest point, it is still deadly to them, but this doesn’t stop the Intestinal Creatures from advancing. On the contrary, even if out of ten Intestinal Creatures trying to pass through this joint point, nine die in the magnetic field, the one that makes it into the Tokyo Region can cause tremendous harm. After all, although Intestinal Creatures are similar to zombies, their threat and rate of infection are much greater than zombies, and compared to the staggering walk of zombies, Intestinal Creatures are also faster.

Now, according to the intelligence, about one and a half thousand Intestinal Creatures have gathered outside this joint point. If even one-tenth of them enter the Tokyo Region, then Tokyo doesn’t need to wait for any final boss; it’s directly heading for its downfall.

Although the Self-Defense Force has already blockaded the area, that’s useless; it doesn’t do any good. The greatest danger the Intestinal Virus poses to humanity is its infectivity. This is why humanity has been retreating step by step in the face of the Intestinal Virus: a thousand soldiers against two thousand Intestinal Creatures might kill five hundred of them, but as a result, they would be wiped out. Moreover, these soldiers would also be infected with the Intestinal Virus and ”replenish” the Intestinal Creatures’ ranks, and the final outcome is a loss of five hundred for the Intestinal Creatures and an addition of one thousand.

In such a situation, humanity naturally cannot contend with the Intestinal Creatures.

Those guys will definitely monitor the battle here via satellite, the combat strength displayed by these children will influence their judgment. And Fang Zheng also hopes to establish his own place in this world by demonstrating their capabilities.

”Master.”

At this moment, Nymph by Fang Zheng’s side slightly lifted her head, looking towards him.

”Something’s not right, according to the radar search results, the number of Intestinal Creatures here is approximately fifteen hundred.”

”Which means, more than we were told before? Hmph, those scoundrels are good for nothing but these little tricks.”

Faced with Nymph’s report, Fang Zheng wasn’t surprised; those guys actually didn’t want to see the ”Cursed Children” emerge completely victorious. But unfortunately... the ”Cursed Children” standing before them no longer remained ”Cursed Children.”

”Are you prepared?”

”Yes, Brother Fang Zheng.”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s query, Mibu Asaka, who had been sitting silently by the side, nodded. She carried a Hua Stone Taidao that was longer than her own body, and next to her, Tina narrowed her eyes slightly and gave Fang Zheng a soft and languid smile.

”Of course, there’s no problem, Brother Fang Zheng... we’re ready...”

”Then do as we agreed before.”

Upon receiving the answers, Fang Zheng reached out and patted Tina’s head while the golden-haired girl closed her eyes happily, seemingly enjoying his touch greatly. Seeing this, the other children showed envious expressions but remained silent, just focusing intently on Fang Zheng.

”This time, Natsuse, you will take charge of the overall command.”

As he spoke, Fang Zheng looked towards the girl sitting on the other side, holding an automatic rifle and expressionless. As the Coordinator with the highest Psionic Rank here, Natsuse had almost learned how to master and use psionics during this period of training. Not only that, but using the Swarm Network and telepathy, she could easily communicate with every Coordinator.

Beyond this, Natsuse also possessed Attack Power comparable to a Star Spirit; she had learned to skillfully use the Psionic Storm and Energy Backlash, and even to utilize Psionic Shockwaves. As the most powerful member among all the Coordinators, Fang Zheng intended to use her as a trump card. In the current battle, her only task was to take charge from the rear.

As for the automatic rifle in hand... well, it was purely for show.

At Fang Zheng’s words, Natsuse looked up quietly, gazing at him, then nodded slightly.

”As for the main offensive... it’s up to Midori, Asaka, and Nobiru—you three are in charge of the main force. If you encounter any tough enemies, Tina will be responsible for containment.”

Unlike Natsuse, who specialized in long-range and large-area AOE, Fumie Midori, the cat-eared loli, although she had a Psionic Amount equivalent to Natsuse’s, her specialty was close combat. After the fusion enhancement, Fumie Midori had almost maximized the power brought by the Cat Factor—of course, if you were to ask Fang Zheng, he would say that this girl was essentially another Zelahtu, the type who would unpredictably appear behind others to stab and play assassin...

If Fumie Midori was the assassin, then Mibu Asaka and Aohara Nobiru would be the MT and the main DPS. Tina would be stationed in the rear with her anti-tank sniper rifle, responsible for containment and covering fire.

”Leave it to me, Fang Zheng!”

Nobiru, the liveliest of the group, also stood proudly, chest out, patting her flat chest.

”Miss will not let you down! No matter how many Intestinal Creatures come, Miss will annihilate them all!”

”Of course, I believe you will all return victorious.”

Looking at Nobiru, Fang Zheng also showed a smile. At the same time, the helicopter began to hover above the jungle, signifying that they had reached their destination, and the battle—was about to unfold.

”Then, let’s go.”

”Yes!”

The hatch opened, and the girls stood up and walked toward the cabin door. Mibu Asaka, leading the way, gave Fang Zheng a respectful nod and salute, then with her taidao on her back, she leaped directly from tens of meters in the air. Just at that moment, suddenly, Tina came over and tugged on Fang Zheng’s sleeve.

”Brother Zheng...”

”Hmm? What is it, Tina?”

Seeing the sleepy-eyed blonde loli in front of him, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but pinch her cheeks, which had a slight baby fat to them. Tina then waved at Fang Zheng.

”Brother Zheng, lower your head, I have a secret to tell you...”

”A secret?”

Upon hearing Tina’s words, Fang Zheng paused for a moment, then obediently lowered his head, and as he did, Tina suddenly tiptoed and lightly pecked Fang Zheng on the lips.

”Tina—!!”

Seeing this scene, Fumie Midori and the others beside them were all stunned.

”Hehe...”

And Tina, having succeeded in her ”surprise attack,” showed a triumphant smile, half-closing her eyes as she looked at Fang Zheng.

”Then I’m off, Brother Zheng... When I return, please reward me.”

After saying these words, as if to avoid being caught by the others, Tina, with her sniper rifle, dashed out of the cabin in a few strides.

”Tina, you are too crafty!”

”Ah...”

Watching Fumie Midori, who had turned red in the face, loudly complaining towards the outside of the cabin, Natsuse sighed lightly, then closed her eyes.

Soon, the next moment, Natsuse’s voice appeared in the minds of all the Coordinators.

”After this battle is over, we all demand Brother Zheng to reward us with kisses.”
