Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 478: Chapter 376: Consecutive Battles with the Overlord (3)

In the scene.

The female student cheerfully arrived at Gurgling Hill, holding a fishing rod, perhaps genuinely believing she could reel in the King of the Ocean?

Since it’s called ”the King,” it’s obviously a big guy, right?

Just as Baimu thought, although the female student was very serious about fishing, she ended up catching Magikarp after Magikarp. Occasionally, she caught a Wishiwashi, but didn’t pay it much attention and threw it back into the pond.

Without Shui Lian’s strong skills, it’s essentially impossible to attract a school of Wishiwashi.

After realizing she hadn’t caught anything for a while, the female student fell into deep thought and pulled a bomb out of her pocket.

[You’ve decided to use the ultimate method—throwing a bomb]

”Blowing up fish!? Hey, hey, hey! Doesn’t that go against the kind-hearted talent a bit?” Baimu sucked in a breath, thinking the female student might just sacrifice what little kindness she had to the fish.

But luckily.

The narrator continued to explain that she merely detonated the bomb above the water, using the vibrations to provoke the ”King of the Ocean” lurking at the bottom, trying to force it out—

This tactic was quite effective.

Though it didn’t cause direct damage, it scored full marks in taunting, as the once-calm pond now had a massive, pitch-black shadow looming within it.

[You’ve decided to strike while the iron is hot and use the ultimate method II—using a naturally shed Morelull cap as bait to fish it out]

Amazing, ultimate method II, and using a Morelull cap, no less.

Is this thing even edible?

While Baimu was puzzled, the shadow in the water had already taken the bait. However, the female student wasn’t strong enough and couldn’t fish like Shui Lian, whose strength is said to be able to catch a Kyogre, so she had to ask Mimikyu, who could extend ghostly claws from beneath its cover, for help.

It must be said that Mimikyu’s strength was truly impressive. Though it was the female student who originally held the fishing rod, Mimikyu quickly transitioned from an assistant to the main force, successfully pulling the giant shadow from the water.

On the screen.

An enormous Wishiwashi in school form soared across the sky. Its size, further amplified by the Overlord Aura, was as awe-inspiring as a humpback whale and splashed back into the pond with a thud.

The female student and Mimikyu were clearly stunned, standing frozen on the spot.

They then became immensely excited.

[You’ve discovered another Overlord Pokémon, and you believe you’ve finally uncovered the true identity of the King of the Ocean, deciding to defeat it and bring back the Water Z as proof]

That’s our bomb-loving girl!

Baimu greatly admired the female student’s courage to not only remain unafraid in such circumstances but also resolve to defeat the school-form Wishiwashi.

But it’s easier said than done. Since the Overlord Wishiwashi lingers underwater long-term and the female student doesn’t own any Water Attribute Pokémon, she has no choice but to fish it out for an attack.

The condition was quite demanding.

[After careful consideration, you decide to use a Grass Z-Move to determine victory right as the King of the Ocean is fished up]

The idea was good.

But Baimu wasn’t hopeful upon seeing it, not because he thought the female student couldn’t seize the opportunity to attack, but because the Overlord Wishiwashi, much like the Overlord Lurantis, had companion Pokémon.

The companion for Overlord Lurantis was Castform, while the Overlord Wishiwashi’s companion was Alomomola, which has a healing ability, as Overlord Wishiwashi’s weakness is that once its energy is depleted to a certain level, it will revert from school form.

If Alomomola can maintain Overlord Wishiwashi’s health level, the female student most likely won’t be able to discover the true form of the Overlord Wishiwashi.

The battle had yet to commence.

Baimu, having already gleaned the crucial details of the battle, realized the key was whether the female student could find the hidden Alomomola.

As it currently stood, she clearly hadn’t noticed it.

The trial on Akala Island officially commenced.

The female student had already figured out how to draw out the Overlord Wishiwashi, replicating the previous strategy of detonating the water surface and using a mushroom cap as bait.

This approach indeed proved effective, and the Overlord Wishiwashi once again took the bait.

[As you watch the Overlord Pokémon about to leap out, you can’t help but shift part of your attention to the Z Bracelet]

Boom!

The Overlord Wishiwashi leaped!

Its enormous figure swept across the pond like a dark cloud, almost covering half the screen.

Just as Baimu saw the green glow of the Grass Z-Move and was about to pity the female student, he noticed a line of text appear from the narrator.

[As you were preparing to unleash the Z-Move, Mimikyu suddenly tugged your ankle, disrupting your concentration, leading to the failure of the Z-Move]

The Overlord Wishiwashi returned to the pond again.

[You are perplexed by Mimikyu’s influence on your actions, but soon you discover a smaller shadow beside the Overlord Pokémon, and upon closer inspection, you see it’s an Alomomola, suddenly remembering Castform, you immediately understand Mimikyu’s reason for stopping you]

[You decide to ask Mimikyu to interfere with Alomomola]

Let’s solve the helper first.

Baimu let out a sigh of relief, it seemed the female student knew how to listen to Pokémon, unlike other overly proud individuals who might have blamed Mimikyu.

The female student’s approach remained the same as before.

Only this time, Mimikyu also joined the battlefield.

This time.

The female student succeeded with one hit.

When the Overlord Wishiwashi crossed the sky for the third time, Mimikyu fearlessly dashed toward the pond, spinning to hit Alomomola’s head with a wooden hammer, leaving the Overlord Wishiwashi defenseless against Dartrix’s Grass Z-Move attack.

[Bursting with Colorful Flowers]!

Green special effect font appeared on the screen, followed by a covering of illusory flowers and grass across the sky, as if a pillar of green light was blasting toward the Overlord Wishiwashi.

At that moment, the dazzling green light enveloped the pixelated version of the Overlord Wishiwashi, which disintegrated in mid-air like being vanquished.

The female student and Dartrix wore bubbles of surprise on their heads.

Neither expected to eliminate the King of the Ocean, disintegration was not what they wished to see.

Luckily, after the green light dimmed, the ”King of the Ocean” revealed its true form—

Like dumplings, Wishiwashi constantly fell into the water. These fish Pokémon, only palm-sized, had been fished by the female student before, though she had paid no attention.

Now, realizing the true identity of the King of the Ocean made her more surprised and thankful she hadn’t left earlier.

The test given by the King of the Island was to uncover the true form of the King of the Ocean, its original form definitely couldn’t satisfy the King of the Island.

[You see one of the Wishiwashi approaching, holding a Water Z in its mouth while a group of Wishiwashi carries Mimikyu back to the shore, deeply relieved]

[You get the Water Z and joyfully return to report back]

Thank goodness not stuck at this stage.

Baimu couldn’t help but feel relieved for the female student, who would have been stuck here long, either at the Overlord Wishiwashi’s true identity or the hidden Alomomola.

One can only say Mimikyu was the MVP in Akala Island’s two tests; without it, the process couldn’t have gone smoothly.

The scene transitions.

The female student returns to Paniola Ranch, looking for Grandpa Kaqi.

[You hand the Water Z to the King of the Island and tell them the real identity of the King of the Ocean is a group of Wishiwashi. The King of the Island is very satisfied, acknowledging you passed the test and arranging a major test for tomorrow]

After the narration ends, the screen swiftly shifts to the next day.

The female student comes proudly, anxiously starting the major test with Grandpa Kaqi—

A three-on-three single battle.

Since Grandpa Kaqi uses mostly Fire-type Pokémon, in a way, the female student’s situation is rather disadvantageous, but fortunately, the Blue Talent is activated.

When Dartrix falls behind, the female student first speeds up with Feather Dance to dodge Charizard’s Jet Flame.

Then uses Hold On to withstand Charizard’s [Super Extreme Burst Flame Bullet], finally using [Supersonic Dive Bombing] combined with Shadow Strike to go down alongside Charizard, completing a terrifying reverse attribute maneuver akin to Ash.

When Grandpa Kaqi sends out Alola Marowak, Mimikyu also succeeds with its strong hard skills, easily defeating it, and countering Magmar with a sliver of health.

Sleep Morelull didn’t even get the chance to show itself.

Baimu watching a blatantly overpowered Trainer in the simulation for the first time, was the previous user of the Three-word Truth that overpowered? Why not?

Is it because they didn’t have the Three Families?

Not sure.

[You passed Akala Island’s major test, received the Ghost Z specially chosen and given by the King of the Island, who hopes you’ll make good use of it]

The female student happily raised the Ghost Z in the picture.

Looks like the King of the Island in the animation isn’t as rigid as the one in the game, who gives Z Pure Crystals based on their attribute, but rather changes according to the challenger’s preferred attribute.

Not bad, not bad.
