Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 472: Chapter 374: Demolition Ghost Genius

Another day passed.

Nothing happened.

The Rocket Team’s delayed arrival made Baimu hesitant to leave Meteor Village; he had sounded the whistle himself, and they responded seriously, patrolling and staying alert.

But when nobody comes after half a day, he finds it hard to justify just leaving like that.

So he had to continue staying in Meteor Village.

The Dragon Elder also seemed happy with this situation, encouraging him to stay without any burden, as the Meteor People always helped each other out. Staying a few days was no issue.

”The rent money’s wasted.”

Baimu thought about the house in Fallarbor Town, where he had paid almost a week’s rent... Luckily, he hadn’t left anything behind. ”Oh well, let’s start the simulation.”

Shrinking into the couch, he looked at the simulator.

Nowadays, he could almost reduce the original seven-day cooldown for simulations to five days, and following the Double Blue simulation from the Verdanturf musician last time, it was time for the Blue Talent again.

During this period, the three regular simulations contributed level boosts under level 50, adding up to seven-grade enhancement, as one was lucky enough to make it to the top sixteen. Unfortunately, the other two weren’t as lucky, with one failing to break through the preliminaries and another just reaching the top sixty-four.

In terms of moves, the simulations contributed [Jet Flame], [Temptation], and [Taunt].

[Jet Flame] was decisively given to Aggron, since it learns new moves much slower than Hydreigon, which has better talent. The latter can even grasp Jet Flame through Aggron... and Big Character Burst Flame.

[Taunt] is temporarily held, pending confirmation whether to give it to Aggron or Hydreigon, with the latter being more probable.

[Temptation], after consulting with Mawile, was unanimously decided to be left with Shiny Feebas.

Best used as a small gift for breaking through Dragon Gate Waterfall.

Mawile itself doesn’t really need this, as it relies on dancing to win, not on external force, especially in battle, which may seem like augmenting a support role.

But once Baimu gets the Key Stone, it will become an outright brute force output.

Using Temptation would be a waste of time and energy; better to pass the baton quickly.

”Here we go, new simulation.”

After sorting through his gains, he lightly tapped into the void.

[Select your birth region ▽]

The first six generations of regions have already been cycled through, and next comes an exceptionally special region—Alola.

Why is it special?

Because in the animation, the first Pokémon Alliance in Alola is held after Ash Ketchum arrives, headed by Dr. Kukui, which means unless the simulator predicts the future, there won’t be an Alliance tournament.

Without an Alliance tournament, how is the reward calculated?

Baimu was very curious.

Clicked to select gender.

Because the musician was male last time, this time it would naturally be female. But speaking of female NPCs in the Alola Region... Bikini big sister?

Could it be Island Queen?

Without the limits of the Alliance tournament, anything seems possible... Hopefully not a Skeleton Team female member or Ethereal Foundation female employee.

Clicked open the Pokémon section.

”Oh? Rowlet?”

Baimu was pleasantly surprised looking at this Pokémon; The Three Families weren’t often seen in the simulator. Although this couldn’t represent the final outcome, at least it proved the simulation target was a ”serious person.”

Good omen!

He quietly clicked on Talent.

Fixed Talent:

[☆ Three-word Truth: (Stand up, Hold On, Dodge)]

Optional Talent:

[Hot-blooded Youth (always positive)]

[Appearance Reflects the Heart (more attractive to Pokémon)]

[Weak and Often Ill (health condition not optimistic)]

[Kind-hearted (willing to help others)]

Rowlet starts with Three-word Truth?

Unfortunately, with the female choice, Baimu really suspected the simulation was Ash Ketchum arriving in the Alola Region, and he hoped it was Ash.

After all, Ash won the championship in Alola!

Couldn’t suddenly give him an Ash in a parallel world, right?

Such a pity.

Baimu gently sighed, opting for Kind-hearted and... Hot-blooded Youth.

Appearance Reflects the Heart is certainly great, but Hot-blooded Youth perfectly matches with The Three Families and Three-word Truth, doesn’t it? So even though he had been let down before, he was still willing to give Hot-blooded Youth a chance.

Not necessarily becoming a brainless youth; the introduction clearly states ”mindset always positive.”

This element is very important.

He clicked to start the simulation.

The familiar light screen quickly unfolded.

——

[Simulation begins]

Still the simplistic pixelated graphic style, even in the Seventh Generation without any change.

The background is a pitch-black night.

Many cake-like houses formed a large complex relying on a towering tree, situated by the seaside.

Though the appearance looked abstract, it wasn’t hard to tell from the elliptical playground and other buildings nearby that it should be the Trainer School on Melemele Island.

Also the school Ash attends in the animation.

The view zoomed in.

In the school hallway, a small figure dressed as a female student was holding a flashlight, looking somewhat timid as she walked forward.

[At eleven years old, you bet with classmates to unveil the true nature of the mysterious creature incident in the school, but you are really uneasy since your good partner Rowlet is missing again]

Oh dear.

Seems this is the protagonist of the simulation.

But what about the promised hot-blooded girl? Timid girl seems more like it.

Baimu’s gaze followed the female student, thinking whether there was any creature like a monster out there or not, even if a Ghost Attribute Pokémon suddenly appeared, she would be scared to death.

But the simulator’s camera suddenly zooms out.

The screen reveals the staircase where the female student is about to pass by, with two pale figures squatting there, wobbling like ghosts.

Hmm?

Are there real ghosts?

Baimu stared wide-eyed, and then saw the narration pop up.

[What you don’t know is that your classmates have long disguised as ghosts and are waiting for you at the corner of the staircase]

Turns out they were people all along.

On the other end, the female student continued stumbling forward, sweeping her flashlight back and forth through the hallway, making the surroundings alternately bright and dark, causing doubt whether she could see clearly.

And finally.

After a lengthy shuffle, the female student arrived at the staircase corner.

The two fake ghosts who had been waiting eagerly lunged forward, writhing in strange ways, with two exploding white bubbles emerging from their foreheads.

The female student stood there like a fool.

But just when Baimu thought the female student might be scared to faint or even pee her pants, a bubble suddenly appeared above her head, with an excited soybean expression with heart eyes inside.

Baimu: ”?”

The two ghosts: ”!”

At that moment, they saw the two white ghosts in the picture turn sharply and run away, with the female student frantically chasing after them.

[You’ve successfully discovered the real ghost, and you’re so excited that you chased after it, thinking your disguise had indeed lured the ghost, and trying to capture the ghost alive to prove to your classmates that ghosts really exist in this world]

So it turns out it was all an act!

What grandma shuffle, what Gatling-style shooting, all made to paralyze the ”ghost” with a pretense!

Baimu watched the fake ghosts and the female student running and chasing back and forth on the strange cake-shaped school building, and in desperation, the two fake ghosts started running separately.

[You see the ghosts split up and run, hesitantly deciding to chase the larger one, as it’s slower and you’re not fast yourself]

The female student was still chasing, but her expression in the bubble above her head turned from excitement to discomfort, clearly about to run out of stamina.

Finally.

She stopped and started panting heavily in place.

The nearby fake ghost also chose to stop, clearly equally exhausted, probably sweating enough to soak the cloth they’re wearing, though it’s too dark to see.

[You look at the ghost that’s within reach, deeply regret your lack of stamina, and also regret why Rowlet isn’t by your side]

The female student stepped forward again, scaring the fake ghost into suddenly finding a burst of energy and sprinting away. She symbolically ran a couple of steps, then stopped in place.

[You watched the ghost disappear, feeling deeply regretful, thinking it would have been better if you’d brought a camera to capture it. It’s a pity that this time you weren’t adequately prepared. But discovering a real ghost still makes you extremely excited]

In the lower right corner of the screen, you can see the two fake ghosts fleeing the school in panic.

After resting for a moment, the female student was still a bit unwilling and continued to look for the ghost that had run off somewhere, but this time no matter how she pretended or wandered, she couldn’t find any trace of the ghost.

Baimu saw the female student wandering around the school without using a flashlight, and an ominous feeling rose up inside him.

And it quickly came true.

The female student suddenly stopped at the door of a classroom, and then the camera moved, revealing the interior of the classroom to him—

In front of a desk, a hazy white figure was sitting in place, holding a tattered Pikachu plush.

Damn!

A real ghost!

Baimu was horrified, those two fake ghosts had already fled!

In the picture, the female student seeing the ghost wasn’t shocked but delighted, briskly ran into the classroom, her courage going far beyond reckless.

[You saw the ghost appear and approached it excitedly, but the other party seemed to really dislike you, not only didn’t run but even screamed rushing toward you]

Then suddenly, the white figure transformed into a giant white fierce ghost, even in pixel style you could see its twisted face.

The female student stopped, calmly took out a ball from her pocket and tossed it over.

Bang!

A burst of fire exploded between them, stunning both the fierce ghost and Baimu, especially the former, frightened by sound, light, and heat, and immediately saw another ball thrown over.

Bang!

Another burst of fire!

This time, even the fierce ghost got scared, just like those two fake ghosts earlier, turned and ran toward the window, not forgetting to take the worn Pikachu toy from the table.

Whoa? A demolition expert!? Where’s the security? Where’s the security? Someone is bombing the school!

Baimu complained wildly, not expecting that after the female student’s outrageous bravery, she had this kind of courageous reliance. But a true ghost is different from a fake ghost.

One cannot pass through walls and the other can not only pass through walls but also fly!

The female student chased to the window, seeing the ghost about to fly away, the bubble above her head suddenly burst and revealed three words—

”Rowlet!!!”

[You saw the Farfetch’d about to fly and hurriedly called upon your trusty partner]

As the sound was uttered, Baimu saw a ”meteor” suddenly flying from the corner, spectacularly crashing into the fleeing ghost.

Bang!

The ghost was struck down by the ”meteor”, revealing its true form, who else but Rowlet?

At the window, the female student saw the ghost had been hit and hurriedly prepared to jump down from the second floor.

Luckily, Rowlet quickly flew over, grabbed the female student’s hand, and with its toy-sized body, desperately flapped its wings to barely mitigate most of her downward force.

Enabling the female student to roll over and safely land.

”Another... reckless one...”

Baimu smacked his lips in secret, thinking that after Miniskirt, another super playful female character has appeared, are the student groups having some buff bonuses?

[You quickly ran toward the fallen ghost, but quite surprised to see its true appearance]

In the picture, the female student approached the ”ghost”, finding that as the white gas dissipated, it revealed Mimikyu’s figure.

It dragged the damaged Pikachu toy, seemingly quite afraid of the female student.

The bubble on its forehead kept displaying a fearful soybean expression.

”I’d be scared too.”

Baimu agreed with Mimikyu completely.

But unexpectedly, this was another fake ghost... even if from a certain standpoint a true ghost.
