Naruto: Becoming the Soul King

”What do you mean by cheating? As long as you’re a Genin and qualified, you can participate in the Chunin Exam. You people are here for the Chunin Exam too, so you should know that, right?”

Obito looked at the group approaching.

From the forehead protectors they wore, he had already figured out their identities.

They were shinobi from Kirigakure!

”And also, why should we answer your questions? Who do you think you are?”

Obito let out a cold snort.

These people had an arrogant attitude, even more overbearing than the Uchiha clan.

He just could not stand people like that.

This was Konoha, and he was not afraid of these Kirigakure shinobi...

”Heh, Uchiha, huh?”

The one speaking was still that boy from the Kaguya clan.

He seemed somewhat unruly, and he also gave off strong confidence, along with a vicious aura born from having gone through quite a few life-and-death battles.

He looked at Obito, and through the clan crest on Obito’s left sleeve, roughly figured out his identity.

He licked his lips. ”I heard your Uchiha clan is like our Kaguya clan, one of the famous bloodline clans in the ninja world.”

”I really hope I run into someone from the Uchiha clan in the matches later.”

The Uchiha clan was also extremely famous in the ninja world.

In terms of reputation, they were even more well-known than the Kaguya clan.

After all, they had produced Uchiha Madara.

”Tch.”

Obito clicked his tongue and glared fiercely at him.

Annoyed, he said, ”If I were participating in the Chunin Exam, I’d definitely beat you in the match. Kaguya clan? Never even heard of it!”

The Kaguya boy silently looked at Obito.

Then he shook his head and sneered. ”So you’re just trash who wasn’t even qualified to participate in the Chunin Exam.”

Hearing that, Obito exploded in anger.

That was rubbing salt in his wound.

He wanted to speak up and retort.

But Seiryū stopped him.

Seiryū looked at Obito speechlessly. ”Can’t you tell he’s baiting you? Why don’t you stay here and argue with him, we’ll head to the exam hall first.”

Seiryū also could not be bothered dealing with these Kirigakure shinobi.

They would run into each other later anyway...

”Did I say you could leave?”

The Kaguya boy looked at Seiryū.

A proud smile curled at the corners of his mouth. ”It should be you, right? I heard Konoha’s strongest genius Seiryū is a red-haired boy, and you just happen to have red hair!”

”How about sparring with me right now? I’m the young clan leader of the Kaguya clan, Kaguya Shimaichirō. Don’t worry, it’ll be over quickly, it won’t delay us for long.”

This red-haired boy in front of him should be Seiryū, the so-called strongest genius of Konoha, right?

From the intelligence he knew.

The strongest genius Seiryū was a disciple of two of Konoha’s Sannin, Tsunade and Jiraiya.

The name of the Konoha Sannin stood even above the Seven Ninja Swordsmen.

That made him, Kaguya Shimaichirō, the young clan leader of the Kaguya clan, very curious and interested in Seiryū, who bore the title of Konoha’s strongest genius.

”Not really interested.”

Seiryū shrugged and said, ”If we meet in the matches later, then I’ll spar with you. I just hope you don’t fail to get through the written exam.”

Why did he feel like this Kaguya boy had a kind of Uchiha-style neurosis?

Could he be another lunatic?

Seiryū had always kept his distance from people like that.

Getting tangled up with them would be troublesome.

”That’s not up to you...”

Shimaichirō looked at Seiryū, already eager to make a move.

He wanted to test the level of Konoha’s strongest genius right now.

To see whether he was worth fighting!

Go.

As soon as those words fell, Shimaichirō did not think about anything else. He used the Body Flicker Technique, his figure flashed, and he lunged straight at Seiryū.

He attacked directly!

Duy frowned slightly. These Kirigakure shinobi really did not understand the rules.

Did they really think this was Kiri?

He was just about to make a move, but Kakashi beside him had already moved!

Crackle crackle!

A piercing electric sound rang out, lightning danced across Kakashi’s body, and the spreading electric net surged forward.

It forced Shimaichirō to stop his movement and made him retreat with a Body Flicker.

Looking at the retreating Shimaichirō, Kakashi rolled his dead fish eyes.

Helplessly, he said, ”This Chunin Exam really is troublesome. Could it be that the Genin from the other villages are all like this too?”

After learning that the other shinobi villages would also send Genin to participate in the Chunin Exam.

He had already had a premonition.

That this Chunin Exam would be somewhat troublesome.

But he had not expected.

That the very first person from another village they met would be such a reckless brute who did not consider the consequences.

This could even count as a diplomatic incident.

And also.

The other Kirigakure shinobi were not stopping this guy either?

They were actually letting him fool around.

Sure enough, just as his father had said, this Chunin Exam was a test between the great shinobi villages.

No, more than that, it was a test aimed at Konoha!

Shimaichirō stared at Kakashi, and interest also appeared in his eyes. ”And who are you?”

He had instantly caught his movement, and had formed hand seals and used a ninjutsu in an instant to block his attack.

Someone with that kind of reaction speed should not be weak either!

He had also become interested in Kakashi.

Kakashi only replied calmly, ”Hatake Kakashi.”

”Hatake?”

Hearing Kakashi’s words, Fuguki Suikazan, who had not stopped Shimaichirō, narrowed his eyes slightly.

He was very familiar with that surname.

Konoha’s White Fang also had the surname Hatake.

So this white-haired brat was the son of Konoha’s White Fang, Hatake Sakumo?

It seemed.

Konoha’s younger generation was no weaker than the younger generation of Kirigakure, which had gone through bloody training.

As expected of the strongest shinobi village.

He hoped this Chunin Exam would reveal even more of Konoha’s foundation.

That was also the mission he had come here for!

”That’s enough, Shimaichirō.”

Fuguki said flatly to Shimaichirō, ”Now isn’t the time to fool around. Later, whether it’s Konoha or the Genin from other shinobi villages, you’ll run into them all. At that point, you can do as you please.”

”First, go take the written exam.”

He was the leader of the Kirigakure team this time, and the other shinobi all had to obey his orders.

Even if Shimaichirō was the young clan leader of the Kaguya clan, it was the same.

This was the authority the Third Mizukage had given him!

Shimaichirō looked at Fuguki, then only nodded.

After that, he curled his lips at Seiryū and Kakashi. ”I’ll remember you two. I’m really looking forward to meeting you in the Chunin Exam.”

Seiryū gave a slight nod without much reaction. ”Oh, whatever makes you happy.”

He had really never seen someone so eager to get beaten up. If they met later, he’d smash all his bones...

”Well then, if there’s nothing else, we’ll be going first. See you.”

Seiryū did not continue paying attention to the Kirigakure group.

Nor did he care about this small conflict.

After that, the group directly headed toward the written exam venue for the Chunin Exam.
