Naruto: Becoming the Soul King

The injured Seiryū spent a full month recuperating.

Only then had his injuries mostly recovered.

During that time, the Dragon Vein sealed inside the Yin Seal did not show any unusual movement either.

That was something worth celebrating!

It was already mid-September now.

At Tsunade’s house.

Seiryū looked at Tsunade and said seriously, ”Bad woman, you need to be more careful this time. Don’t make any mistakes, or I’ll probably end up bedridden for another ten days to half a month.”

Most of his injuries had recovered, he only needed Tsunade to use chakra to protect his ”fragile” chakra pathways.

Then Seiryū would be able to mobilize the chakra in his body.

Naturally, the first thing to consider was healing his injuries completely.

It was only a matter of one Kaidō...

But seriously, this was such a scam.

He had gone out of the village twice for missions, and both times ended up seriously injured.

No one else had it this bad.

If he did not have a heaven-defying healing technique like Kaidō.

Then just from these two injuries alone, Seiryū felt that without at least half a year, he probably would not recover fully.

”And I need you to remind me?”

Tsunade shot Seiryū a sidelong glance and urged, ”Stop the nonsense and hurry up. I can’t even be bothered to keep taking care of you. After your injuries recover, I still need to study that special Yin Seal of yours and avoid any risks that might appear. I’m even busier than you.”

Seiryū was very dissatisfied. ”And you still have the nerve to say that? Not only did you scam me out of a million ryō, it was mostly Kurenai taking care of me anyway, right?”

”That one million is the consultation fee. I haven’t even charged you for taking care of you yet.”

”You win...”

Not continuing to argue with Tsunade, Seiryū sensed that the chakra pathways inside his body had been wrapped in Tsunade’s chakra.

He also began to mobilize his chakra, and with a hand seal, said, ”Kaidō!”

As soon as one Kaidō was cast, a pale green light covered Seiryū’s whole body.

His body felt warm, and the injuries inside him were healing at a speed visible to the naked eye.

Come to think of it.

When he used Kaidō on himself, it also felt pretty good.

But it would not produce the same kind of drugged-up reaction Tsunade and Naruto had shown.

Could it be that the indecent side effect of Kaidō only worked on other people!?

”Ah, I’m alive!!”

With his injuries completely healed by Kaidō, and an inexplicable sense of lightness spreading through his body, Seiryū shouted joyfully!

Once the sickness was gone, his body immediately felt light and floaty.

It was extremely refreshing.

He was alive!

”Your technique really is powerful. Setting aside that... uh... side effect, its healing effect really is no weaker than Creation Rebirth.”

This was not the first time Tsunade had seen Kaidō.

But she was still shocked by this medical ninjutsu.

It was just a pity that she could not learn it.

She had no idea what trick Seiryū had used in developing this technique, but in any case, she could not learn any of it.

”Want to experience it again? For the sake of you taking care of me for so long, I wouldn’t mind letting you experience it one more time!”

Seiryū said eagerly.

To be fair.

That flushed expression Tsunade had before, with her eyes all misty, had a unique charm.

Just looking at it was a kind of visual enjoyment.

”Did you forget what I told you before?”

Tsunade used her right index finger to tap Seiryū on the forehead, her expression serious. ”Don’t use this Kaidō casually. It will consume your lifespan!”

Seiryū slapped Tsunade’s hand away and said indifferently, ”One or two uses probably won’t be a big deal. I haven’t noticed any signs that my life force is being consumed.”

The idea that using Kaidō would consume lifespan was only Tsunade’s assumption.

It might not actually be the case.

Tsunade stared at Seiryū. ”Be serious. I’m not joking with you!”

Seiryū could only suppress the mischievous thoughts in his heart. ”Alright, alright, I’ll listen to you.”

Tsunade continued, ”You’re going to become Hokage in the future, so you absolutely can’t be too extreme in the way you do things. I’ll make you get rid of this bad habit.”

”???”

Seiryū froze for a moment, then pointed at himself. ”Huh? Me? Become Hokage?”

His expression turned extremely colorful, and he looked at Tsunade like she was an idiot. ”Bad woman, what kind of madness are you on about!?”

When had he ever said he wanted to become Hokage?

That was absolutely impossible!

Tsunade crossed her arms and said very seriously, ”As my disciple, Tsunade’s disciple naturally has those qualifications. I’ll train you into the most perfect Hokage!”

”No way. Other things can be discussed, but this absolutely can’t!”

Seiryū shook his head like a rattle drum. ”Whoever wants to be Hokage can go do it.”

He let out a sneer. ”If I became Hokage, who knows what kind of mess I’d turn Konoha into. You know what? The very first thing I thought of when you said you wanted me to become Hokage was using the Hokage’s authority to make money. Can you believe that?”

Tsunade’s face darkened.

There was seriously something wrong with this brat!

Who the hell’s first thought upon becoming Hokage was making money?

Did all that Will of Fire you learned at the Academy go to the dogs!?

Seiryū did not notice Tsunade’s darkened face, and continued speaking at length, ”Do you even understand what civil engineering is? It means repairing this place this month, then repairing that place next month!”

”And not the kind where you finish it properly all at once!”

”This month you repair the underground drains, next month you dig them up again to repair the water pipes, then the month after that you discover that while repairing the water pipes, you blocked the underground drains, so you dig it all up again and keep repairing the drains.”

”That way, the cycle can keep repeating and the work can continue indefinitely.”

”One street can be repaired for three to five years, and I can make huge profits from it. I could even set up my own construction team and pull off the slick move of money passing from one hand to the other.”

At this point, Seiryū suddenly paused.

He looked at Tsunade, completely changing his previous expression. He thumped his chest and said righteously, ”I take back what I said before, it is our duty to restore Konoha’s glory!”

”I’m definitely becoming Hokage. I’m even more determined than a rubber man trying to become Pirate King. Even if Jesus came, it wouldn’t matter, that’s what I said!!”

When it came to becoming Hokage.

The first thing Seiryū would think of was shedding blood and giving his life for Konoha, planting trees so future generations could enjoy the shade, and being part of the older wave that got slapped onto the beach by the newer wave.

Wasn’t that obviously a miserable job?

But after thinking it through carefully.

If he did not benefit others and only benefited himself, did not care about sustainable development, and looked out for his own interests everywhere...

Then the position of Hokage was simply a fat job!

Why did he suddenly feel a little tempted?

Tsunade’s face had already turned as black as the bottom of a pot. ”Shut your mouth!!”

She was completely stunned by the slick scheme Seiryū had just described.

What normal person would come up with such a vicious money-making method?

And your one hundred and eighty degree attitude shift is way too realistic, isn’t it?

Tsunade stared at Seiryū, danger already filling her eyes. ”Who taught you all this? Speak!”

Where had this brat learned these ideas!?

”Do you even need someone to teach this stuff?”

Seiryū looked puzzled and said carelessly, ”Anyone lacking in virtue could think of it. Of course, I’m definitely not that kind of person, I’m just good at putting myself in other people’s shoes.”

He was not lacking in virtue.

He had only seen people who were.
