Naruto: Becoming the Soul King

Dragon Vein Core.

To avoid the earlier shockwave, the group from Konoha had also retreated here...

The disturbance over there grew smaller and gradually calmed down. Tsunade slowly let out a breath. ”Looks like it’s over...”

Then she looked at Naruto, who was being supported by Minato, and could not help but say, ”To think you’ve mastered that kind of jutsu. You brat might really have a chance of becoming Hokage...”

That jutsu even surprised someone as experienced as her.

If she were hit head-on, she felt that even with Strength of a Hundred Seal and Creation Rebirth activated, she might not be able to withstand it...

”Hahaha, of course I’ll become Hokage. That’s my dream... ah! It hurts!”

Naruto laughed loudly, but the movement pulled at his injuries, making him bare his teeth in pain.

He had been struck by the shockwave earlier, and now his chest hurt badly. Several ribs were broken...

On top of that, due to the side effects of the Rasenshuriken, his left arm could no longer be lifted.

His injuries were quite serious!

But hearing praise from Tsunade in this timeline still made him very happy.

He had been acknowledged...

Tsunade glanced at him and said, ”I’ll treat your injuries. That jutsu is very powerful, but it seems to have significant side effects...”

”No need to trouble yourself, I’ll do it.”

Seiryū took over.

Forming a hand seal, he extended a finger and a faint green light appeared. ”Kaidō!”

After all, Naruto’s injuries were caused because Seiryū wanted to see the Rasenshuriken.

No matter how you looked at it.

Seiryū had to take responsibility for healing him.

Besides, Naruto would likely return to another timeline soon.

He arrived unharmed but left seriously injured?

That would be awkward.

So, Kaidō’s rapid healing technique came into use at this moment.

”Huh? This feeling... ah~”

Bathed in green light, the ”comfort” spreading through his body made Naruto let out some rather ”strange” sounds...

An ”odd and lewd” smile even appeared on his face.

As if he had been drugged...

Seiryū’s mouth twitched. ”...”

Kaidō really isn’t proper!!

Use it less in the future.

No, absolutely never use it on men again.

This time was an exception.

He did not want to see another man make such an ”odd and lewd” expression.

Earlier, when Tsunade experienced it, her eyes softened and her cheeks flushed, looking very alluring. That was visually pleasing...

But Naruto...

It was simply too painful to look at!!

”No, this is bad. The Dragon Vein, because of that explosion, has completely gone berserk. Even I can’t fully suppress it!”

At the central stone platform.

With her hands placed on the Dragon Vein core, Sāra’s face turned pale. She realized she could no longer suppress the rampaging Dragon Vein...

Her voice became anxious and fearful. ”If this continues, the berserk Dragon Vein will destroy all of Rōran!”

If the Dragon Vein ran wild.

Forget everyone here, even the entire city of Rōran could be destroyed...

Buzz, buzz, buzz!

The next moment.

A strange humming sound rang out, and an even more massive chakra fluctuation spread.

The Dragon Vein, which Sāra had shut down, lost control.

It fell into complete rampage.

When stable, the Dragon Vein chakra was purple. When out of control, it turned dark red.

The chakra fluctuation also became completely different.

It was filled with violent, chaotic, unstable energy.

If the Dragon Vein before was a calm pool of water, now it was boiling water!

Boom boom boom!

Dark red chakra surged continuously, as if tearing apart some kind of ”limit.”

It burst wildly from deep underground. Beneath the pool, the liquefied, tangible chakra began to boil...

Containing terrifying power, no weaker than a Tailed Beast!

The rampaging Dragon Vein chakra caused this entire area to shake constantly... no, the entire city of Rōran was trembling!

As soon as Sāra cried out, Seiryū had already moved.

With a few steps through the air, he arrived beside her and spoke quickly, ”Queen, step back first.”

The Dragon Vein going berserk...

It was not outside his expectations.

When Anrokuzan self-destructed earlier, Seiryū had already planned to seal the Dragon Vein.

That was why his reaction was so fast...

Seeing Seiryū arrive, Sāra somehow felt a sense of reassurance.

But she still asked nervously, ”What are you going to do?”

Seiryū smiled. ”We have plenty of experience dealing with this kind of rampaging chakra. Don’t worry, I won’t let Rōran be destroyed. You still owe me a thousand ryō, Queen.”

The Dragon Vein was a chakra source, essentially similar to a Tailed Beast.

Konoha had plenty of experience sealing Tailed Beasts...

Sāra: ”...”

She felt too tired to complain.

Why was he still fixated on the thousand ryō she owed him?

Sāra stepped back a little and said worriedly, ”Be careful. The rampaging Dragon Vein is very dangerous!”

Seiryū replied, ”Don’t worry.”

”Four Symbols Seal...”

Seiryū began forming hand seals, then pressed both hands onto the Dragon Vein core.

Instantly, black sealing formulas spread out from his palms, attempting to seal the rampaging Dragon Vein.

Even if he failed, there was still Minato as backup...

But the next moment, Seiryū’s expression suddenly changed.

The instant his hands touched the Dragon Vein core...

A vast, powerful, violent Dragon Vein chakra surged into his body through the tenketsu in his hands!

It was as if his body was actively absorbing the Dragon Vein chakra!

Completely out of Seiryū’s control!

This chakra was overwhelmingly massive. It coursed through his chakra pathway, and his fragile pathways were torn apart under the violent flow...

The piercing pain made him groan.

As the pain intensified, his expression twisted.

The Four Symbols Seal he was using was disrupted and dissipated...

”What is going on?”

Seiryū gritted his teeth.

He could not understand what was happening.

Why was the Dragon Vein chakra being uncontrollably absorbed by his body!?

[Ding, Hollow power detected. Shinigami Hollowfication is one direction of evolution, and also an indispensable power for becoming the Soul King. Host, please subdue the Hollow power for your own use and complete the conditions to become the Soul King!]

[Mission issued: Subdue the Hollow power within your body!]

[Mission reward: Cero!]

The system suddenly sounded, making Seiryū grit his teeth and curse, ”Damn it!!!”

So it was this stupid system causing trouble!?

It was treating the Dragon Vein chakra as Hollow power?

And it wanted him to subdue it and make it his own?

Was this something he should be doing right now!?

The Dragon Vein chakra contained natural energy. Without mastering senjutsu or having special traits, the body simply could not withstand it.

Not only could his fragile meridians not endure such violent chakra, even his body was on the verge of bursting apart.

Moreover, the Dragon Vein chakra seemed capable of eroding his consciousness, slowly taking away his sanity...
