Naruto: Becoming the Soul King

The group traveled together.

Heading toward the Might household.

Then on the way, they ran into Uchiha Obito.

Seeing Rin standing to Seiryū’s left, the two looking like a perfect match, Obito suddenly felt as if there was something extra on top of his head.

He waved and greeted them, then ran up in front of Rin and started fawning over her. ”Rin, I was just about to go to your house to look for you.”

”Really?”

Rin said a little embarrassedly, ”I just went to Kakashi’s house with Seiryū and Kurenai.”

As for Obito, she only saw him as a teammate and a good friend.

She had no other thoughts...

Obito responded with an ”Oh.”

Then he looked at Kakashi and Seiryū and curled his lip. ”You two better not lose.”

”If you get eliminated during the written exam, I’ll laugh at you for a long time. Don’t let the people from the other shinobi villages look down on us Konoha Genin!”

He actually wanted to participate in this Chunin Exam too.

But he was not qualified.

Among the Genin of their class, the only ones qualified to participate were Seiryū and Kakashi.

Seiryū yawned. ”A lot of the questions on this written exam were selected from my ’question booklet’, do you really think I could get eliminated?”

Obito: ”...”

At the mention of the question booklet, his expression changed a little.

Back then, he had been tormented quite badly by that question booklet, and it had practically put a mask of pain on his face.

Even now, thinking back on it still gave him lingering fear.

It could be said.

The question booklet was the nightmare of the Ninja Academy students.

Kakashi said calmly, ”What we need to consider isn’t the written exam in the first stage, but the preliminaries and the final matches afterward. I wonder what kind of strength the Genin from the other shinobi villages have?”

He was also taking this Chunin Exam very seriously.

His opponents were not only Konoha Genin, but also Genin from other shinobi villages.

He had never encountered shinobi from other villages before.

And he had no idea what sort of strength their Genin had.

Konoha had geniuses, did the other villages not have any?

If another village had a genius like Seiryū, he would find that troublesome as well.

But that should be impossible, how could there be that many monsters?

”Mm, I think no matter how strong the Genin from the other villages are, they can’t possibly be stronger than Seiryū, right?”

Kurenai crossed her arms like a little adult and said, ”What you should really worry about is whether you’ll be besieged by others during the Forest of Death second stage.”

Rin also agreed very much. ”If you get surrounded, it might be dangerous.”

Obito raised a question. ”Speaking of which, do you know any information about the Genin from the other villages in this Chunin Exam?”

As he walked, Seiryū said, ”No. The people from the other villages are all pretty mysterious. Even my Sensei doesn’t know much. I guess we won’t see them until we get to the exam hall.”

The people from the other villages had already arrived in Konoha.

But Seiryū had not seen them yet.

Even Tsunade did not know much about them, they were very mysterious!

Seiryū did not care much.

They were only Genin, they were not worth putting to heart yet.

The group chatted as they walked.

Soon, they arrived at the Might household.

After picking up their last teammate, Might Duy, the group headed toward the exam hall for the first written test.

On the way.

Duy was also a little embarrassed and awkward, scratching his head. ”I really feel like as an adult, joining you all in the Chunin Exam is kind of taking advantage...”

”What’s there to take advantage of?”

Seiryū smiled. ”As long as it follows the rules, you can participate. Besides, after we pass the written exam and the second stage, we’ll also be opponents in the preliminaries and final matches, so Uncle Duy, please go easy on us then.”

Although Kakashi did not know Might Duy’s true strength, from the intensity of Duy’s daily training alone, he could infer how powerful his taijutsu was, so he nodded and said, ”Uncle Duy, let’s do our best together.”

Duy was deeply moved, his hot blood ignited, and he struck his signature pose. ”You’re right, this is youth too, I’m not old yet, I will work hard not to hold you back!”

”Father!

”Father, Seiryū, Kakashi, I believe you can definitely pass the Chunin Exam and become Chunin!”

Guy was equally encouraged by the words of the three of them, and wished he could participate in the Chunin Exam too, competing on the same stage as his father, Seiryū, and Kakashi.

”Father!”

The father and son duo started again, hugging each other with tears in their eyes.

Completely ignoring the gazes of others...

Everyone else: ”...”

Quite a few gazes were cast over from the surroundings. Aside from Seiryū, whose expression remained normal, the others were rather thin-skinned and had already started curling their toes inside their shoes...

At this moment.

A provocative voice entered the ears of the group. ”So these are Konoha’s shinobi participating in the Chunin Exam? They don’t look like much. There’s even a middle-aged man? Heh, what is this, cheating?”

Seiryū and the others looked toward the voice.

From another direction, a group of over a dozen people was walking toward them.

They were wearing Kirigakure forehead protectors.

They were shinobi from Kirigakure.

Leading them was a tall, fat man with an orange bun hairstyle, long loose hair, a bandaged weapon strapped to his back, a height of over two meters, green stripes on his face, and a mouth full of sharp teeth.

Behind him followed several boys and girls only around ten or a bit over ten years old.

The one who had just spoken was a fairly handsome young man with gray-white long hair, two red dots for eyebrows, though he carried a mocking look.

And he continued speaking, his gaze fixed on Seiryū’s group as he said teasingly, ”Hey, which one of you is Konoha’s strongest genius, Seiryū? I want to get to know him.”

Konoha’s strongest genius, Seiryū.

That was a name he had heard often after arriving in Konoha.

It gave him, the strongest genius of the Kaguya clan, great interest.

He wanted to meet him, to see just what level Konoha’s strongest genius had reached!

And how he compared to himself?

’A member of the Kaguya clan?’

Seiryū’s gaze swept over the Kirigakure group, pausing briefly on the gray-white-haired boy who had spoken.

Judging from the other party’s appearance.

He should be someone from the Kaguya clan who possessed the Shikotsumyaku.

After that, he looked at the others and said inwardly, ’There are quite a few familiar faces.’

Seiryū was not unfamiliar with the tall fat man in front.

He was one of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist, the wielder of Samehada, and one of the Auspicious Trio, Fuguki Suikazan.

Another one who felt familiar to Seiryū was a young girl with brown long hair, a pretty face, and knee-high black socks despite her young age, with a cute appearance not inferior to Kurenai or Rin.

After thinking carefully, yes, she was the future Fifth Mizukage, Terumi Mei.

There was also a strange young boy with short dark blue hair, blue-gray skin, and sharp fangs, who looked very much like a shark.

Although he was still quite young.

Seiryū recognized his identity at a glance from those distinctive features.

The future one of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist, the one who would join Akatsuki and partner with Uchiha Itachi, Hoshigaki Kisame.
