Naruto: Becoming the Soul King

”Seiryū, I want to challenge you!”

At Training Ground Three.

Obito, who also had no mission today, was currently looking at Seiryū and confidently saying those words!

Ever since awakening the Sharingan, he had wanted to challenge Seiryū.

But because he had to carry out missions, and Seiryū had been seriously injured twice,

Obito had not found the chance.

It just so happened that both of them were free today, and Seiryū’s injuries had already fully healed.

Obito wanted Seiryū to see how much his strength had improved!

He refused to believe it!

That Seiryū, who had spent more than two months recovering and had delayed his training, would still be a match for him after he had awakened the Sharingan!!

”Here we go again...”

Kurenai was a little speechless. She had known this would happen the moment they ran into Obito.

Still, she also admired Obito’s courage.

This was a warrior who dared to challenge the impossible!

Hearing that, Seiryū rolled his dead fish eyes and was not very interested in accepting. ”Well, I just recovered from a serious illness...”

[Ding, as the future Soul King who will rule the Three Realms, the host must not avoid the challenge of any Shinigami. Please display your strength to the challenger!

[Mission issued: Defeat Squad 7 member Shiba Obito!]

[Mission reward: Bakudō #37: Tsuriboshi!]

Something finally came up.

Seiryū immediately changed his tone. ”A fight is just what I need to get my body back into condition. Shiba Obito... no, Obito, I accept your challenge!”

How rare.

That dead last, Obito, could actually trigger a mission too?

Could it be because he had awakened the Sharingan, so the system judged him to be someone with real strength?

Impressive.

Shiba Obito, was it?

I accept your challenge!

Although the reward was only a Hadō in the thirties, having one was still a gain!

”Hmph! You’re going to lose badly!”

Obito was a little annoyed by Seiryū’s lack of seriousness, and could not help snorting coldly.

Then he looked toward Rin beside him and said confidently, ”Rin, watch carefully. Today I’m definitely going to defeat Seiryū. Konoha doesn’t have only one genius. Now that I’ve awakened the Sharingan, I’m not much worse than them anymore!”

”You both do your best, Obito, Seiryū.”

Rin was a very kind person.

She cheered for both of her friends at the same time.

One was the person she had feelings for, and the other was her teammate.

Favoring only one of them would not be too appropriate.

So she could only cheer for both!

After all, it was just a spar.

When Obito challenged Kakashi before, she had also cheered for both of them.

Nearby, Asuma had a white stick biscuit in his mouth as a replacement for a cigarette. He raised his brows at Obito. ”Obito, you don’t actually think that just because Seiryū was injured and rested for a while, you’ve already caught up to him, do you?”

”I’ve got a reliable source of information. Seiryū has already completed two A-rank missions...”

It was quite a coincidence.

All of them happened to be off today.

That was why they had rarely gathered together like this...

After hearing Asuma’s words, Obito still remained confident, the confidence brought by awakening the Sharingan. ”It’s only because I didn’t get the chance. Otherwise, I could complete A-rank missions too!”

That made the few friends present not know what to say.

Yeah.

Obito was still as confident as ever.

Hopefully he could last a little longer against Seiryū later.

Seiryū had already completed two A-rank missions?

Kakashi was shocked on this side.

A-rank missions were missions that normally required a Jōnin to complete.

The highest difficulty mission he had completed so far was only B-rank, and even that had been together with his father...

As expected of Seiryū!

Ignoring the others, Seiryū hooked his finger at Obito and smiled. ”Come on, Obito, let me see how much stronger you’ve gotten during this time.”

Obito took a deep breath, opened his pair of one-tomoe Sharingan, and stared at Seiryū. ”Under these eyes of mine, the only outcome waiting for you is defeat!”

The others had already retreated.

Only the two of them remained facing each other in the field.

One looked relaxed, the other serious.

A big battle was about to begin!!

”Fire Release: Great Fireball Jutsu!”

Obito took the initiative and attacked first. As his hand seals fell, the ninjutsu he was best at burst from his mouth.

With the Sharingan awakened, the bloodline of the Uchiha clan had been activated, and Obito’s chakra reserves had also grown greatly.

A huge fireball several meters wide, dragging a flaming tail behind it, shot forward!

Boom!!

The power of the Great Fireball Jutsu was not weak either. The point of impact set off an explosion, heat waves rolled outward, flames shot skyward, and a ring of air spread out....

”Tch, no wonder you dared challenge me. You’ve gotten a lot stronger, Obito.”

Using Shunpo to avoid the Great Fireball’s attack, Seiryū praised him before dashing toward Obito with another Shunpo.

”Of course. My training during this period wasn’t for nothing. And now that I’ve awakened the Sharingan, I told you, I’ve already caught up to all of you!”

His scarlet one-tomoe Sharingan spun slightly as Obito clearly saw Seiryū’s movements.

Joy rose in his heart!

Sure enough, after awakening the Sharingan, he had narrowed the gap between them!

”Fire Release: Phoenix Sage Fire Jutsu!”

Cautiously retreating several steps, Obito formed seals again on the move.

From his mouth, he spat out scattered fireballs.

The Phoenix flames spread out and surrounded Seiryū, covering even his routes of evasion.

”Hadō #1: Shō!”

Seiryū did not stop moving, his fingertips flicking repeatedly.

One compressed chakra bullet after another shot out and blew apart the incoming fireballs with boom after boom.

They could not get close to him.

Forming a seal with one hand, Seiryū pointed with one finger. ”Hadō #4: Byakurai!”

Amid a crackling sound, a bolt of lightning shot from his fingertip and struck Obito directly.

With a bang.

The struck Obito turned into a puff of white smoke and vanished. It was a clone!

”Hahaha, I’ve got you!!”

A voice came from underground, and a pair of hands burst out from the earth, grabbing toward Seiryū’s ankles.

It was naturally Obito!

Using the explosion from the Great Fireball just now, he had made a clone, while his real body used Earth Release to hide underground and wait for an opportunity...

Now he could catch Seiryū off guard!

Bzzzz...

But just as Obito emerged halfway from the ground and was about to launch the decisive attack, he heard a sharp buzzing sound...

His heart tightening, Obito looked upward.

Then he saw, on the left, a Rasengan a little bigger than a human head spinning at high speed, and on the right, another Rasengan made up of Rasengan of different sizes...

Looking further up.

There were two Seiryū, one on the left and one on the right.

One had his ankles caught by both of Obito’s hands, while the other was looking at him with a half-smile....

Holding one Rasengan in each hand, Seiryū smiled at Obito and said, ”Obito, do you want to get hit by this Big Ball Rasengan, or by this Planetary Rasengan? Or would you rather admit defeat?”

Under the perception of Kakushitsuijaku.

Obito’s chakra fluctuations had nowhere to hide and could not escape his detection.
