Naruto: Becoming the Soul King

Minato used the memory-sealing jutsu once again.

He sealed and blurred the memories that he, Seiryū, Tsunade, Sāra, and the others had regarding the ”other timeline”...

As expected, it did not work on me. The system may be dumb, but it still would not just watch the host run into problems...

Severely injured, Seiryū was naturally unable to resist having the memory seal placed on him.

However, he discovered that his memories of the ”other timeline” had neither disappeared nor become blurred.....

He had done nothing to counter it himself.

So the only possibility was that the system had taken effect.

The system existed within his mind and was inseparable from him.

Its goal was to nurture him into becoming the Soul King. Before that goal was achieved, it would not allow him to die or encounter any fatal mishap.

Just like when he had first transmigrated, it had directly healed all the injuries of the original body.

Avoiding the possibility of dying right after transmigrating.

The reason the system issued missions that looked to him extremely difficult, or even impossible to complete.

Was only because the worlds were different, making it somewhat unreliable in certain aspects.

Reasonably speaking.

If this were the world of Bleach, then the missions issued by the system might still be difficult.

But not to the point of being impossible to complete.

After figuring that out.

Seiryū started acting. ”The mission is complete, but that really was dangerous. If I hadn’t absorbed the Dragon Vein chakra into the Yin Seal, this mission might really have ended badly.”

”Mm, the mission is complete. We should also return to Konoha. Your injuries can’t keep dragging on, you need treatment.”

Minato also nodded.

But he frowned slightly.

He always felt that the process of this mission was a bit hazy, as if something important was missing.

A glint flashed through Tsunade’s eyes, and she slowly let out a breath.

After that, she looked at Sāra and said, ”Queen Sāra, I meant what I said before.”

”You do not need to refuse. Konoha will do its best to make up for your country’s losses with the appropriate compensation. In the name of Konoha’s princess, Senju Tsunade, I can guarantee that to you.”

She had the identity and status to make such a promise.

There was no need to report it to the Third Hokage first.

Her status was that of Konoha’s princess. In terms of identity and position, she was second only to the Third Hokage!

Hearing the determination in Tsunade’s tone, Sāra fell silent for a few seconds.

This time, she did not refuse again, and nodded. ”In that case, I accept. What I want is only for Rōran to remain stable, and for its people to live in peace and contentment.”

Tsunade thought for a moment and said, ”As for that, if Queen Sāra is willing, Konoha can form an alliance with your country, share what we each have, and engage in trade.”

”Konoha can also provide a certain level of protection for Rōran. Of course, Konoha will not interfere in your country’s government.”

The same thing still applied.

The value of the Dragon Vein could not be measured in money.

They could only do their best to make compensation!

”Form an alliance?”

Hearing that, Sāra’s eyes lit up, and she nodded. ”That would not be a bad thing for Rōran, so naturally I would not refuse.”

Forming an alliance with Konoha, sharing resources, and engaging in trade, while also receiving Konoha’s protection.

This would be greatly beneficial to Rōran’s development.

And since it was guaranteed by Princess Tsunade of Konoha, it carried a high degree of credibility.

She still knew, at least to some extent, what the name Tsunade represented.

After that, Sāra looked at Seiryū lying limp on the ground and smiled. ”At the same time, my little brother is also one of Konoha’s shinobi. I trust him, and I trust all of you.”

”Little brother, I can leave the position of Regent to you, though you’ll have to wait until you grow up first.”

She was not a shinobi.

And she did not know much about things outside Rōran.

But unless one was an idiot, anyone could see that Seiryū was someone of extraordinary talent.

If such a person could become the Regent of Rōran, then it would not be a loss for Rōran, would it?

After all, the Dragon Vein was already inside him, and he had passively been marked with Rōran’s label.

Repaying with her body... well, that was a bit too much. It was true that she had a favorable impression of him, but he was still too young. Still, having a gifted little brother did not seem like a bad deal for her either!

This gifted little brother, Queen Sāra of Rōran, had decided to claim him!

Seiryū tilted his head. ”??”

Did she really want him to marry into Rōran?

He had only been joking earlier, big sis!

Tsunade: ”.....”

This was bad.

Queen Sāra had set her sights on Seiryū.

Calling him little brother again and again, she had already accepted that identity!

Had she also seen Seiryū’s potential!?

It was all this brat’s fault, calling her big sister over and over.

Had Seiryū really made the big sister, little brother route work!?

They did not stay in Rōran for very long.

The next day, the three bid farewell to Sāra and began their return journey to Konoha.

With Flying Thunder God Technique to travel, it was faster than when they came. Before long, they had already returned to Konoha.

Seiryū stayed at Tsunade’s home to recover, Minato went to the mission hall to report the mission, while Tsunade headed for the Hokage’s office.

Inside the Hokage’s office.

Listening to Tsunade’s explanation, the Third Hokage, Hiruzen, interrupted her and could not help saying in astonishment, ”You’re saying Seiryū became the Dragon Vein’s Jinchūriki?”

”The Dragon Vein is also a kind of Tailed Beast?”

”I know you strongly oppose Seiryū becoming the next Jinchūriki, but don’t use something like this to fool your Sensei...”

Seiryū had become the Dragon Vein’s Jinchūriki?

How could he not understand a word Tsunade was saying!?

Tsunade had strongly opposed Seiryū becoming the next Jinchūriki before, and had mentioned it to him more than once.

But she could not use something like this to fool him...

It was not that the Third Hokage did not believe Tsunade’s words.

It was just too bizarre, wasn’t it!?

Tsunade rubbed her forehead and explained, ”Seiryū’s situation is somewhat special. By a strange twist of fate, he sealed the Dragon Vein, which is somewhat similar to a Tailed Beast, into the Yin Seal.”

”In a certain sense, that really does make him a kind of Jinchūriki...”

”I have a headache over this too. This kind of situation has never been seen before, and I don’t know whether there is any risk.”

Seiryū’s situation really was giving her a headache.

She could not figure out what was going on no matter how she examined it.

Whether there was risk or not was also unknown.

Having a disciple like Seiryū, she felt that she was already mentally exhausted.

If it were not for the Yin Seal, she felt like her hair would have gone white already.....

Hiruzen felt quite stumped. Though it sounded strange, it seemed to be true.

”Continue.”

”The Dragon Vein is....”

As he listened to Tsunade’s explanation, the Third Hokage also came to understand the general situation.

After taking a puff of his pipe, he slowly said, ”In the current situation, we can only observe carefully for now. If there is a risk, then use a sealing jutsu to seal the Yin Seal itself, to avoid any accidents.”

Only because Seiryū was Tsunade’s disciple. If it were anyone else in this situation, they would have already been placed under strict supervision....

Then, as if he had thought of something, the Third Hokage continued, ”Right, you could also go find Orochimaru. He might know something about this area.”

(To be continued.)
