Naruto: Becoming the Soul King

”Kakashi?”

Tsunade thought about it and also felt it was workable.

Smiling, she patted Seiryū on the shoulder. ”Not bad, as expected of my disciple, you actually took the initiative to handle it yourself.”

”Kakashi’s strength is good. He definitely won’t hold you back, so just do it according to your own idea.”

”Oh right, who do you want to find for the last team member?”

As for Hatake Kakashi, the son of Hatake Sakumo, she naturally knew of him as well.

He was a genius second only to Seiryū.

He also had the strength to participate in the Chunin Exams.

But what made Tsunade curious was who Seiryū planned to choose as the other teammate.

Among the Genin of Seiryū’s class, there did not seem to be anyone else with the strength to take the Chunin Exams!

Seiryū answered, ”Might Duy, Guy’s father. Duy-uncle is also a Genin, and because he couldn’t find people to team up with, he hasn’t been able to take the Chunin Exams. The three of us teaming up is just right.”

”Might Duy?”

Tsunade revealed a thoughtful expression, then remembered someone in a green tights suit, with somewhat unusual behavior...

She nodded slightly. ”Oh, him.”

”I’m not looking down on him, but won’t he hold you two back? He doesn’t seem that strong, does he?”

Tsunade looked at Seiryū.

In her memory, Might Duy seemed to have the title of ”eternal Genin.”

His strength should not be that high, right?

”Not that strong?”

Seiryū looked Tsunade up and down, then could not help shaking his head.

His tone was a little strange. ”If Uncle Duy got serious, even you probably wouldn’t be enough for him to beat with one hand. He can open the Eighth Gate of the Eight Gates, the Gate of Death...”

The value of the Eight Gates Formation was no joke!

”He can open the Eighth Gate?”

Hearing that, Tsunade’s expression became more serious. ”If that’s true, then how could he remain completely unknown?”

Back then, her Second Hokage grandfather had mentioned the Eight Gates to her.

Someone who trained the Eight Gates to the point of opening the Eighth Gate, the Gate of Death, could unleash power dozens of times greater than their own in an instant.

But there were too few people who could do that.

She had never seen one herself.

If Might Duy could open the Eighth Gate, then how could he remain unknown and stay a Genin all this time?

”Because he hasn’t had a chance to display his strength. And he treats the Eight Gates as a technique to protect what is important, so unless he encounters danger, he won’t use it.”

Seiryū spread his hands at Tsunade. ”I think a strong person like Uncle Duy shouldn’t stay a Genin forever, so I wanted him to take the Chunin Exams together with me.”

For someone with Might Duy’s strength to be just a Genin, that was too much of a waste!

A man who could kick the Seven Ninja Swordsmen into an auspicious trio was just a Genin.

If word got out, the other ninja villages would laugh.

They would laugh at Konoha for being blind, and laugh at how incomplete Konoha’s system was!!

”Fine then, just do it your way. I won’t interfere with your idea.”

Tsunade nodded noncommittally.

Then she gave a reminder. ”You learned the Eight Gates from Might Duy, right? I know a little about that technique. You can train it, but don’t train all the way to the last gate...”

The Eighth Gate, the Gate of Death, could indeed unleash power dozens of times greater than one’s own, but the price was death...

Seiryū nodded slightly. ”That depends...”

His head was smacked once. Tsunade stared at Seiryū and warned him, ”Don’t tell me you don’t know what the Eighth Gate is. That is power bought with your life!”

”You absolutely cannot train it!”

”Kaidō, by nature, consumes your lifespan to heal your injuries. It can’t heal every injury, and it definitely doesn’t mean you truly can’t die!”

To prevent Seiryū from doing something too extreme, she needed to warn him harshly.

Kaidō could not heal every kind of injury!

She was afraid this brat would go too far again. She was already getting a stress reaction just thinking about it.

Are you a worm in my stomach or something?

You even guessed that?

Indeed.

Seiryū had thought about it.

He had a healing technique with absurd effects like Kaidō.

And once he could use Dragon Vein chakra later, he should also be able to use the Yin Seal, Creation Rebirth.

If the effects of those two absurd healing techniques were stacked together, could they overcome the side effects of opening the Eight Gates Formation?

Opening the Eight Gates Formation did not mean certain death in an absolute sense!

If one could open the Eight Gates Formation without injury, then forget Six Paths level, even Bloodline Snare level would get their brains kicked out.

”I know my limits...”

”You know bullshit about your limits!”

Tsunade’s teeth ached with irritation.

You’re the one with the least sense of limits, how do you even have the nerve to say that?

Staring at Seiryū, her tone was stern and serious. ”In short, you! absolutely! cannot!”

”I don’t care about anyone else, but you absolutely cannot train to the Eighth Gate.”

”Konoha has plenty of ninjutsu for you to learn. Whatever you want to learn, I can teach you, but the Eight Gates cannot be your final trump card!!”

”You cannot die, and I won’t allow you to die either!”

As Tsunade said those words, her gaze involuntarily drifted to the necklace she had given Seiryū.

Even though she had already resolved to change and stop drowning in the past, the moment war was mentioned, she still felt an inexplicable unease in her heart.

Seiryū absolutely could not die.

And she would never allow Seiryū to die!!

Looking at Tsunade, who was showing her true feelings, Seiryū was a little distracted.

This bad woman Tsunade really did care about him a lot.

Had their relationship already started changing?

He was still too young!

Age really was his greatest limit!!

Then he smiled and nodded. ”Alright, I promise you, I won’t treat the Eight Gates as my final trump card.”

”I don’t want to die. I’m not that great, I’m not someone who would give up my life for other people.”

”I’m still planning to become Hokage, make you my Hokage assistant, and then make money together...”

Before having absolute confidence, of course he would not recklessly open the Eighth Gate, the Gate of Death.

He was not some hot-blooded youth.

Someone who would give up his life for others.

It was true that he was a kind, honest, straightforward person, but he absolutely was not some saintly fool.

Tsunade: ”...”

Why was this brat still so obsessed with making money?

”It’s best if you remember that...”

Tsunade also hoped Seiryū would remember her warning and not do anything too extreme.

But... it would already be good enough if this brat could actually listen!

Not continuing on that topic, Tsunade thought of something else and said, ”Oh right, have you mastered the Summoning Jutsu I taught you yet?”

Seiryū shook his head. ”I’ve only signed a contract with Katsuyu, I haven’t started training it yet. I was planning to first study other ninjutsu.”

Speaking of that, Seiryū really wanted to complain.

Even though he had become Jiraiya’s disciple first, what he knew more of was actually Tsunade’s ninjutsu.

Super strength, medical ninjutsu, the Yin Seal, even his summon contract was with Katsuyu of Shikkotsurin.

Thinking about it carefully, had Jiraiya actually taught him any ninjutsu?

No!

Not a single one!!

He was just carrying the title of Jiraiya’s disciple for nothing.

When Jiraiya returned to the village last month, he only showed his face and ate a bowl of ramen.

Then he checked in a little on the recent situation of Seiryū and Minato, his two disciples.

Mm, Jiraiya had mentioned wanting to teach Seiryū and Minato a new ninjutsu, the compressed Rasengan, a shape transformation of the Rasengan!

But because Seiryū was injured, it had to be put aside for the time being.

Then Jiraiya stayed in Konoha for just a few days before leaving again.

He really was a complete ripoff.
