System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

After hanging up the voice call, Lu Cheng and Mu Nanshu exchanged secretive smiles.

The room was softly lit, and Mu Nanshu’s cheeks had a slight rosy tint.

Lu Cheng had no time to admire her profile before Mu Nanshu made a very bold move.

She suddenly lunged over, turning to knock Lu Cheng down.

Of course, Mu Nanshu didn’t suddenly turn into a devil; she simply rested her left cheek against Lu Cheng’s chest, her hair falling casually over his left arm, gradually leaning down.

Her body remained motionless, her eyes closed, fingers of her right hand slowly opened and closed, intertwining with Lu Cheng’s fingers.

After a good ten seconds, Mu Nanshu’s red lips gently whispered, ”I won’t be afraid, nor will I be nervous.”

Mu Nanshu knew this liver preservation surgery project was highly significant.

Privately, she researched Professor Lu Mang’s background, whose resume could easily lock several of hers together.

This Professor Lu was visibly tense in facing the results achieved by Lu Cheng, indicating that once Lu Cheng’s surgical technique was publicized, its impact would be significant.

Such recognition for this technique would play a huge role in Lu Cheng’s future development.

The difficulty of developing it, along with the personal benefits it brings upon successful development, is a true principle of medicine.

At this point, Mu Nanshu knew Lu Cheng could now fulfill the bold statements he made in his youth.

Even if Lu Cheng himself said he no longer cared about those words.

Lu Cheng really did it.

”What could you be afraid or nervous about? I’m right here, can I even run away?” Lu Cheng carefully helped Mu Nanshu sit up.

”It’s late today, not early enough to go to sleep.”

”You, the workaholic, will definitely be reporting to the lab on time tomorrow. I don’t think you need to worry.”

”Go wash up and sleep early…”

”Okay.” Mu Nanshu nodded gently.

A night without words!

...

April was near, early May originally meant holidays, a time to rest.

But these holidays had nothing to do with Lu Cheng, he was becoming even busier!

May 3rd, at ten o’clock in the morning.

Lu Cheng, who had barely napped for four hours in the lounge, was woken by the phone.

With closed eyes, Lu Cheng reached for his phone: ”Hello?”

On the other end was Dai Linfang: ”Brother Lu, we really can’t handle this?”

”Just received another call from Huai City asking if we could take a case of annihilation injury.”

”I glanced at the video and rejected it outright.”

”Also, the spleen injury transferred from Yong County, I sent to the emergency room.”

Xiangzhou People’s Hospital’s trauma center had been in operation for only a month, with Lu Cheng leading the team in treating annihilation injuries for just half a month, naturally resulting in a reputation effect.

Being a doctor, medical skills are one aspect, basic principles are another.

If Xiangzhou People’s Hospital couldn’t perform limb preservation surgery, then patients should be advised to go to Sha City.

But if State People’s Hospital could perform such surgeries, not informing the patients would actually violate basic medical regulations.

Simple spleen ruptures are fine, mostly those the County Hospital within the State couldn’t convince to undergo splenectomy would be transferred here.

But annihilation injuries, with timely hemostatic rescue, could have a certain rescue window.

Between the 120 transport teams, it might be passed from mouth to mouth, causing Lu Cheng to almost work his fingers to the bone treating annihilation injuries in these recent times!

After starting his shift on April 30th, he hadn’t been back since.

In between, there were some spleen repair surgeries, thanks to Qu Daowen and Dong Liumeng’s assistance, otherwise, Lu Cheng might be torn in two, forced to make a choice between two options…

”Okay, rejected then rejected, I need to rest a bit longer, you should rest a bit too.”

”We took the second shift yesterday, even if the King of Heaven comes, we need to sleep a little.” Lu Cheng said.

”I want to sleep too, but Chen Fang alone simply can’t handle it.”

”This siphoning effect is quite strong.”

”Don’t know why suddenly there are so many spleen rupture and annihilation injury patients, when usually there aren’t any.” Dai Linfang yawned.

Lu Cheng explained, ”It’s the holiday now, other hospitals probably just want to rest. They are likely pushing patients to us.”

”When I was working before, it was the same way at the County Hospital. During holidays, anything slightly troublesome would be pushed away.”

After hanging up the phone, Lu Cheng went back to sleep.

However, Lu Cheng didn’t sleep for long before getting up again.

The King of Heaven didn’t come, but Huang Haibo did: ”Lu Cheng, get up, an old classmate of mine has come to see me.”

”You absolutely need to help and make a trip.”

Lu Cheng rubbed his eyes and sat up, truly rubbing out two clumps of eye gunk, his voice tinged with bitterness: ”Director Huang…”

Huang Haibo gritted his teeth: ”No choice, I know you’ve been really stressed lately, I just want to get you out for a break.”

”My old classmate’s child’s tendon is injured, they’re now at his maternity and child care hospital.”

”You go over and give a hand, then make a clean getaway, I’ll handle the other matters for you.”

”I see you guys really can’t block all these things.” Huang Haibo was here asking Lu Cheng for help, but also to help him.

Xiangzhou wasn’t that big. Truthfully, many people could find numerous connections.

This person came to ask Lu Cheng for a surgery, another person came to ask for a favor.

Annihilation injury surgeries take a long time, they could really tire Lu Cheng to death.

And in Huang Haibo’s view, losing a few limbs for patients was no problem!

Lu Cheng mustn’t die unexpectedly.

If Lu Cheng died unexpectedly, he as a director would be in big trouble.
