System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

”Let yourself be a bit more at ease, just treat work as work, and try to detach your life and other thoughts from work.”

”Maybe you can be less tired!” Lu Cheng sent Mu Nanshu early to the parking lot at the entrance of the laboratory, walking with her to the door.

The morning sun shone on Mu Nanshu’s face, her skin and the light seemed to merge into one.

Mu Nanshu’s eyes were as bright as ink, with a hint of surprise in her gaze: ”How can you be so flexible in your mindset?”

Last night, Mu Nanshu had a brief chat with Lu Cheng, and she felt inferior to Lu Cheng’s current mindset.

Lu Cheng thought to himself at this moment, if this girl was also ’cheating,’ and she was already in the process of taking off, she could also have a clear mind like him.

But after all, Mu Nanshu is just an ordinary person, so Lu Cheng comforted her: ”What you said yesterday, varied and different, I don’t think there’s a standard answer.”

”It can be mutual dependence in adversity, it can be regret, or unforgettable memories.”

”It can also be a simple life as bland as water.”

”I just feel, experiencing it earnestly, that’s it.”

Lu Cheng felt awkward while speaking, discussing philosophical questions of what love is after being engaged as a couple.

However, Lu Cheng knew, between the two, Mu Nanshu’s life state was actually shackled.

She came to Ji City, not just for her inner desires, but also with a purpose.

No matter what it is, as long as it carries a strong purpose, it is impossible to have a broad mind, which means carrying some emotional burdens forward.

Mu Nanshu came to Ji City to pave the way for herself, so she could avoid a long-distance relationship and have better development, etc.

Lu Cheng couldn’t completely remove Mu Nanshu’s psychological shackles, but by rightly exposing it, at least he could let Mu Nanshu withdraw.

Some pressures are just like a layer of window paper.

You think others don’t know, so you feel you’re silently contributing, and when others directly expose it, you actually feel relaxed.

Oh, he knows everything.

Oh, all these shackles are just self-added; things aren’t that extreme, and I don’t need to bear so much pressure...

After Lu Cheng finished speaking, he added: ”However, defining it like this seems wrong, maybe when you unconsciously feel it, that’s really it.”

”I find it difficult to say; this is a question for philosophers. For us, in the middle of it, perhaps only when outsiders experience these things, they can be more thorough.”

”I read a sentence when I was reading before.”

”No high monk or enlightened monk can transcend their past and get liberated; so-called great awakening is observing human affairs and feeling the sufferings of others.”

”I’m going to work.” Lu Cheng raised his wrist, looking at the watch Mu Nanshu gave him to check the time.

”Alright, you go ahead.” Mu Nanshu waved him off with her hands behind her back.

Although she knew Lu Cheng liked seeing her in a dress, it was already April, but wearing a dress with leggings was not her choice.

She was here to work in the laboratory, and wearing a dress was not convenient for work.

Therefore, today she chose more convenient ’wide-leg pants’ and a shirt, instead of deliberately choosing a long-sleeved dress like she did when meeting Lu Cheng yesterday...

After Lu Cheng sat in the driver’s seat, he immediately sent a voice message to Dai Linfang.

”I’ll first go to the hand surgery ward; Trauma Department’s Director Wu has invited Professor Ding Gong from Xiangya Second Hospital’s Trauma Department to evaluate the comprehensive quality of the previous limb preservation surgery.”

”Zoom!”

Just as Lu Cheng drove out of the parking lot, Dai Linfang sent back an OK gesture.

April in Ji City, spring had indeed returned to the earth.

Lu Cheng parked the car, walked from the emergency department parking lot towards the surgical building, passing by fresh grass shoots and listening to the oriole birds chirping, feeling an indescribable delight.

A well-rested work state always brings higher positivity.

After arriving at the hand surgery department, Lu Cheng first went to the rest room to ’borrow’ a white coat, hung on the badge, and when he rushed to the doctor’s office, there were already quite a few people gathered inside.

Director Zhu Guanghong of the Trauma Department, Director Wu Xiang, and the chief medical officer Liu Jun, deputy director Xiang Dahong of the hand surgery department, all familiar to Lu Cheng.

And there were many more unfamiliar younger doctors present.

Most people were standing, the Director Wu Xiang seated at the oval office table stood up quickly after seeing Lu Cheng: ”Dr. Lu, finally you’re here.”

”If you hadn’t come, I would have sent someone to bring you from the trauma center.”

”Just now, Dou Kongyue texted me that he’d already picked up Professor Ding Gong, and they’ve finished breakfast, heading this way.”

”You were the lead surgeon on this operation; we can’t handle Professor Ding’s inquiries. Now that the surgery is over, if Professor Ding asks questions and we have no answers, it’d be embarrassing.”

Lu Cheng entered the doctor’s office at seven fifty-eight, nearly on time but not late: ”Sorry, Director Wu, I was a bit delayed by some matters this morning.”

”Xu Ran’s condition should be okay; I consulted some professors at my training hospital yesterday with her data, and they all said the recovery seems fine.”

”It’s already the sixth day post-operation, with no signs of skin turning black, green, or necrosis, which proves the tissue is still viable.”

”For initial limb preservation surgery, as long as the tissue is viable, even if functional recovery is lacking, the quality of surgery can be gradually improved.”
