Most of Lu Cheng’s skill points were used to enhance the Liver Preservation Surgery and Limb Preservation Surgery for Severe Injuries.

After the initial phase of basic accumulation, Lu Cheng’s skill point investments were practical!

He didn’t just focus on basic operations but chose to allocate points to specialized surgeries as well.

”Yesterday, in just twenty-four hours, I gained 18.9 skill points?”

”It would be great if this kind of good thing happened every day.”

Of course, this was just wishful thinking on Lu Cheng’s part. Yesterday, Lu Cheng worked tirelessly, with the help of others, to achieve such high gains.

Currently, his daily average gain is around 10 skill points.

Compared to a year ago, a daily gain of 10 skill points is a significant leap, but against Lu Cheng’s current upgrade experience, it’s relatively insufficient.

Skill points are still far from enough!

I really wish I could take out a loan of millions to max out all the skills.

After wistfully daydreaming, Lu Cheng quickly dialed Professor Chen Song’s number.

The call was directly declined.

Lu Cheng wasn’t surprised; Professor Chen Song must be busier than himself.

Lu Cheng first took the pot of braised beef down to cool.

After brewing himself a cup of mild green tea, Lu Cheng leisurely sat down to enjoy the spring glow of April.

Around 11:40, Professor Chen Song called back: ”Good afternoon, Director Lu.”

Lu Cheng smiled and said, ”Professor Chen, it’s been less than a month, and you’re already joking about me being just an accessory.”

”But you are, right? Being the head of a trauma center carries much more weight than a regular office director.”

”Moreover, recently, Professor Dong from the Provincial People’s Hospital and Professor Qu Daowen have been calling me many times, lamenting about how inadequate their information channels are.” Chen Song jibed with Lu Cheng.

Lu Cheng decided to cut to the chase: ”Professor Chen, do you have time to come to Xiangzhou for a few consultation surgeries in the near future?”

”It would be best if you could come in the next few days; I have some ideas about the Liver Preservation Surgery that I’d like to report and consult with you.”

Chen Song understood Lu Cheng, and his tone became less flippant: ”Whoa, you’ve got new ideas again?”

”Yes, I’ve been pondering lately and have gained some insights.”

”I only figured it out last night during a surgery.” Lu Cheng certainly couldn’t say he just accumulated the basic skills to upgrade the Liver Preservation Surgery yesterday.

”Alright, I’ll get a high-speed rail ticket right away!”

”When do you plan to start?” Chen Song’s attitude was earnest.

Lu Cheng sighed lightly: ”Professor Chen, do you really want me to break my head over this?”

”In my heart, you will always be my mentor, and I will never forget the kindness of your recognition.”

”You know, I currently don’t have a mentor, and there’s a high probability that I won’t have one in the future...”

”Of course, I will also have a mentor.”

”I’m waiting for him!~” Lu Cheng’s mindset was calm.

Yes, I, Lu Cheng, can finally say this openly and without any reservations!

The TMs don’t think I’m up to their standards, huh?

I don’t need to surrender myself, is that it?

PhD mentors, huh?

What’s so great about it? I can’t study together with you guys, but I can make a bunch of PhD mentors to turn around and award me a doctoral degree, can’t I?

In fact, initially, Lu Cheng’s thoughts weren’t so rebellious.

Even having the system panel, his idea was still to follow the ’continuing education’ path, like going for a master’s or doctoral exam...

However, the reality constantly hit Lu Cheng with one blow after another.

As Lu Cheng was being hit, one after another, these people also gradually lost their allure.

With TM already on the line, shouldn’t I act more openly? If not, wasn’t it all in vain?

Lu Cheng’s words instantly made Chen Song feel that even his cerebral cortex and the soles of his feet were clear and comfortable:

”If you’re going to talk like this, you might as well say a few more words.”

Lu Cheng did as he was told: ”Teacher Chen, you are my teacher. No one can replace that.”

”Alright, alright, that’s enough, that’s enough.”

”Okay, I’ll book a high-speed rail ticket right now; I’ll be able to reach by tonight.”

”Today is Saturday, and I’m not on duty either.”

After Chen Song finished speaking, he explained: ”However, I just performed two surgeries at the Eighth Hospital in Sha City, and the circulating nurse there was unfamiliar.”

”So I just had her hang up the call.”

Lu Cheng quickly replied: ”Alright, Teacher Chen, I’ll have wine ready for you later. We can drink and chat.”

”Sure thing!~” Chen Song responded in some dialect from Ji City, repeating it with the accent.

Lu Cheng continued: ”Teacher Chen, if it’s inconvenient for you, I can take a day off during the May Day holiday to visit you.”

”No way!~”

Chen Song immediately rejected Lu Cheng’s suggestion: ”I know you’re sensible, respectful to your elders, but I can’t be inconsiderate.”

”You’re now the newly appointed head of the trauma center, and it’s different for you; you’ve got someone above you with a higher stature.”

...

After taking a short nap, Lu Cheng took a taxi to the parking lot where the lab was located, and used the car keys to get into Mu Nanshu’s car to enjoy the air conditioning.

Han City in April was still a bit chilly.

Mu Nanshu came walking gracefully with her bag in hand, and after seeing Lu Cheng in the car, she quickened her pace.

She wasn’t wearing high heels, but canvas shoes: ”Why are you here so early?”

”I was here when I sent you the message.”

”You said you’d be down by three; I didn’t know you were only coming out of the lab at three?” Lu Cheng started the car slowly.

”You should rest a bit more; you worked so hard yesterday.” Mu Nanshu was fastening her seatbelt.

”Picking up the boss after work needs to be diligent, or what if I get fired?”

”Besides, I have serious matters to discuss with you today.”

”I’ve been thinking very seriously for a long time, and I only recently figured out the Liver Preservation Surgery. I plan to find some familiar faces to demonstrate it.”

”I want to get the Liver Preservation Surgery out there as soon as possible.”

”I’m not very familiar with this, so I hope to get your opinion.”

Mu Nanshu was a little surprised, but felt it was reasonable: ”If you’re going to bring people in to discuss the surgery, you’ll need to invite a lot of peers for a hearing.”

”They should at least be seasoned professors.”

”Do you have such connections?”

Mu Nanshu was already thinking for Lu Cheng: ”Professor Xie Xiao is in hand surgery, his contacts don’t extend into general surgery, right?”

”Professor Chen Song is also not suitable, his qualifications are too low.”

Lu Cheng gave Mu Nanshu a direct answer: ”Dai Linfang’s teacher.”

Upon hearing this, Mu Nanshu slowly nodded: ”Professor Huang Gengwen from Xiangya Hospital does have the connections and qualifications, but would he be willing to arrange this for you?”

Upon hearing this, Lu Cheng smiled inwardly and spoke slowly: ”Book Bag, that’s your blind spot in perspective.”

”For someone of Professor Huang’s status, fame, etc., they are already at the pinnacle; a person like him wouldn’t think to suppress new talents.”

”If there’s an opportunity, they won’t even have time to promote us.”

”Those who do suppression are mostly half-baked.”

”Quite a few at the State People’s Hospital are like that.”

Mu Nanshu replied: ”I’ve never seen anyone suppress you, though?”

Lu Cheng chuckled: ”If it weren’t for my connections at the County Hospital and Xiangya Hospital before coming to the State People’s Hospital, imagine what I’d be encountering now.”

”They know they can’t suppress me, so they have to add to my glory.”

When it comes to professional knowledge, Lu Cheng might not be able to compete with Mu Nanshu, but when it comes to ”social knowledge,” how could Mu Nanshu compare to Lu Cheng?

”So how do you plan to convince Professor Huang?”

”Is this indirectly raising your profile?” Mu Nanshu asked the critical question.

”I don’t persuade them; I let Dai Linfang speak on my behalf.”

”Let’s change a term you used.”

”This isn’t about raising fame; it’s about seeking a ray of hope for patients...” Lu Cheng’s voice and tone became serious.

After saying this, Lu Cheng added: ”Oh, right, I arranged dinner with Professor Chen Song today; we’re going together.”

”Tomorrow, I booked a movie for us to watch together as well.”

”Sorry, due to work, I can’t accompany you too far away.”

”To see a movie? Are there any good ones lately?” Mu Nanshu instinctively opened the Meituan app.

Lu Cheng leaned over, whispered: ”It’s imported from Japan, not in theaters. It’s for learning technology.”

Upon hearing this, Mu Nanshu was instantly stunned, her cheeks and ears flushed red: ”Are you crazy...”
