System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

”Director Xiang, even though Lu Cheng can perform damage control limb preservation, but for replanting severed limbs, is it really necessary to seek him out?” In the operating room, Shi Changjian’s voice was ambiguous.

Shi Changjian was the doctor from hand surgery most deeply impressed by Lu Cheng, without exception.

Back when Lu Cheng was at Long County People’s Hospital, Shi Changjian was already deeply impressed by him.

That time, Shi Changjian heard that the tendons of a patient were treated by the doctors at the County Hospital, and he was somewhat concerned about the patient’s health, so he removed the stitches and did it himself.

It turned out to be self-defeating, and in the end, Liu Jun was invited over, averting a disaster. Naturally, Shi Changjian was severely scolded and still feels somewhat uneasy about it...

”Damage control and limb replantation can be considered similar; this patient’s grinder injury is complex to handle. If the limb shortens severely, it will be inconvenient to walk afterward.”

”After all, it’s the father of a good friend. Inviting Lu Cheng for a look might yield better results counts as a favor. If Lu Cheng can’t do anything, at least I can have peace of mind.”

Xiang Dahong looked at Shi Changjian and continued, ”The past is past.”

”Now you understand what Liu Jun meant by ’One skill to rule them all’, don’t you?”

”With just damage control and spleen preservation surgery skills, Lu Cheng doesn’t need to worry about any title restrictions.”

”That’s what ’One skill to rule them all’ means.”

”Within hundreds of miles, apart from him, no one else can perform this surgery. There’s no other choice but to seek him out!”

Shi Changjian nodded quietly, smiling gently, ”It’s just that having seen such skills with the old director, it feels surprising for Lu Cheng to have them.”

”Sometimes it feels unbelievable.”

At this moment, the routine trainee in the department had already finished disinfecting and draping and came over to report, ”Director Xiang, the pre-surgery preparation is done, we can start.”

Xiang Dahong and Shi Changjian then went out to wash their hands.

Xiang Dahong’s good friend was genuinely a good friend, so he invited Lu Cheng over by phone before the surgery began.

...

”Was it forcibly broken by a machine?” Lu Cheng came into the operating room, and seeing the severed wound, his voice carried a hint of shock.

The lower part of the shin had only the tibial and fibular periosteum slightly connected, the rest was broken and then crushed.

The ghastly white skin, toothbrush-like wound edges, bloodied nerve endings snapped like noodles.

Vessels as mush, muscles like synthesized thin slices of mutton, appalling to behold.

”Yes, Dr. Lu, what do you think, is there a chance to preserve more?” Xiang Dahong asked.

This patient’s case was not categorized as damage control because it was a local destruction that could be processed in replanting.

Therefore, it belongs to the limb replantation category.

”It should be worth a try; this situation is relatively straightforward within the realm of damage control.”

”If everything below the severance point was damaged, I would have walked away.”

”Director Xiang, I will make a call to report to my department that I will be joining the surgery.” Lu Cheng instructed.

”Alright!”

Xiang Dahong sensibly arranged, ”Circulating nurse, call some lunch boxes, send five to the trauma center, and eight to the operating room, according to the standard for eighty-one cases, let the boss decide on his own.”

”Tell the boss that a bad review and permanent blacklist will follow; we’ll never return.”

Lu Cheng had already reached the door but glanced back at Xiang Dahong.

Xiang Dahong acted as if the previous incident hadn’t occurred, ”Start the surgery, Shi Changjian, sit a bit aside, that’s Dr. Lu’s seat.”

The real Xiang Dahong encountered was different from the rumored one.

Of course, Lu Cheng knew better; the real Lu Cheng encountered was also not the same as the one over the phone.

...

At ten-thirty, Lu Cheng was halfway through the surgery and hurriedly rushed to the emergency department operating room.

Spleen rupture isn’t a daily occurrence or an average distribution of one every two days!

The hospital arranged for the trauma center to take over in mid-month, but it wasn’t intended to directly provide Lu Cheng with a case.

But sometimes, luck coincides most conveniently.

A patient with open spleen injury appears!

The wound wasn’t large, just a thumb-sized steel bar pierced the patient’s upper left abdomen, simple wound, and hematoma without major arterial injury.

Even the position where the steel bar entered hadn’t affected organs outside the spleen.

Nobody on site dared to cut the steel bar in fear that the cut’s rebound might shatter the spleen, risking the patient’s life.

So, when Lu Cheng saw the patient, they had a steel bar hung at their chest along with a cage.

Several strong men in isolation suits stood by the operating table, ready to help as soon as Lu Cheng removed the steel bar, waiting for further instructions...

This was handled very professionally.

Whether to sever or cut, the immediate rebound force could fragily shatter the spleen, leaving no choice but spleen removal.

Lu Cheng arrived as Dai Linfang quickly and accurately reported the situation: ”The steel bar pierced the spleen not deep, exactly reaching the upper-lower third position, entering one-third depth into the spleen.”

”A simple CT was done, and we quickly moved forward; I’ve already completed the laparotomy.”

Lu Cheng had finished washing hands, nodding as he donned the sterile surgical gown, ”Hmm, the wound’s rather rounded, making handling somewhat cumbersome.”
