System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

Dong Dao pointed at Lu Cheng: ”Why did you call to lodge a complaint?”

Lu Cheng asked, ”When did I call to complain?”

”The people in the emergency room told me a patient with spleen injury was taken by the Gastrointestinal Surgery department today. Wasn’t it only right to report this to our director?”

”Currently, spleen injuries fall under the responsibility of our Trauma Center, and if the patient complains later!”

”I want to be clear of any relations, so I reported it to our director to establish evidence!”

”What’s the matter?”

”What did I complain about?”

Dong Dao’s right index finger trembled in the air with anger, his eyes gloomy: ”What are you pretending for?”

”Huh?”

”Do you really think our hospital can’t function without you?”

Few people knew that he invited experts from outside to perform surgical training.

This was his way of seeking change.

Now, he just led his team for the first surgery and was already complained about by Lu Cheng.

Director Huang Haibo from the Emergency Department had already contacted the Medical Department to ask what was going on with this patient and what this arrangement meant.

Which department should spleen injuries belong to in the future?

The director of Gastrointestinal Surgery also called Dong Dao, and after understanding the situation, feeling guilty, asked Dong Dao to stop the surgery.

Lu Cheng calmly climbed down from the top bunk, his expression steady: ”Not at all.”

”But coincidentally, I think the same way.”

After getting off the bed, Lu Cheng rolled up his sleeves without hesitation.

Seeing this action from Lu Cheng, Dong Dao quickly lowered his raised hand: ”I ask you, what exactly do you want to do?”

”What do you want to do?”

”Are the hospital’s patients your personal property?”

”Is spleen repair surgery only something you can do, and no one else can, right?”

”Do you think you’re more arrogant than the dean?”

Lu Cheng shook his head: ”What are you doing? What do you want to do?”

”When did I say that only I could perform spleen repair surgery, and no one else could?”

”You’re questioning, then present your evidence!”

”If I ever said that sentence, I’ll give you my head!”

Dong Dao was momentarily speechless, with an uncertain expression.

Lu Cheng would never immaturely say such things, and he couldn’t obtain evidence.

Lu Cheng crossed his arms and looked at Dong Dao with a playful gaze: ”Firstly, regarding tonight’s matter, asking questions is my right!”

”It’s also something I must do, or else, why would I take the fall for you?”

”Even if the trouble you’ve taken over results in just a bit of dust on the pot, I don’t want to touch it, is that a problem?”

”We’re all adults, all involved in surgery, you tell me, any issues?”

”This month, spleen injuries belong to our Trauma Center, if you love it, take it, but I must state, I don’t know what’s going on with this surgery.”

”Isn’t that the fact?”

Dong Dao’s voice was indifferent: ”But your Director Huang said that we shouldn’t perform such surgeries in the future.”

Lu Cheng taunted: ”Then go talk to Director Huang, why tell me?”

”I didn’t say that, is Director Huang my puppet?”

”Did I start the hospital? Did Director Huang? If he said you can’t do this surgery, does that mean the hospital won’t let you?”

”How old are you this year, big brother?” Lu Cheng’s eyes were puzzled, his tone mocking, and he spoke without any politeness.

Dong Dao’s expressions changed countless times under the ridicule, almost distorted: ”You’re not making a call?”

Lu Cheng interrupted: ”If I don’t make a call, if something happens to the patient, I have at least one percent of the responsibility.”

”The hospital would ask me why I didn’t handle this patient, and I’d have to explain to the Medical Department and the leaders.”

”Sorry, we’re not familiar, and I don’t even want to bear that one percent responsibility for patients under your charge!”

”Is there a problem?”

”This is a hospital, it’s the State People’s Hospital, if you’re so skilled, just take it?”

”The Medical Department and hospital leaders never said the Gastrointestinal Surgery Department couldn’t do spleen repair surgery, just go ahead and take it openly.”

”No one said you can’t take it.”

”You!” Dong Dao took a deep breath.

He didn’t expect Lu Cheng to be so persistent, truly stretching the relationship between them this tense.

”You really want to act this tough?” Dong Dao tilted his head.

His black-rimmed glasses almost formed a parallel line with his arm.

”Am I acting tough if I’m already so weak?”

”Then I’ll say it, if you perform surgeries better than me, move all surgeries over, don’t waste words here.”

”If you don’t have the ability, the tasks the hospital assigned to me, I can handle myself, don’t need your help.”

”If you want to perform surgeries yourself, just do it, don’t drag me into the consequences.”

”Follow the procedure, apply to the Medical Department yourself.”

”Do a proper record, in the future, you’ll have to admit patients with these types anyway.”

”Isn’t that okay?”

”Do you think I’m a kid, don’t understand the tricks and rules, playing with a blindfold?”

”Walk one side, while adapting to changes?”

”You play dumb, I play dumb, and we’re expected to muddle through like this?”

”Based on what?” Lu Cheng finished with a snort.

Then continued: ”If you insist it’s because I can’t stand you, how you view me is beyond my control.”

”But regarding today’s event, even if you shout to the heavens, I wouldn’t have a bit of fault!”

”Defensive medicine isn’t just about guarding against patients and families, but also protecting oneself.”

”What’s wrong? Is self-defense a mistake?”

”You’re this arrogant? This aggressive?”

”You can drown someone but won’t let them swim.”

”Is Xiangzhou somehow not yet liberated?” Lu Cheng wasn’t intimidated by him at all.

Not to mention even if Deputy Dean, his uncle, came, what could he do?

I could easily leave, and go to Union Hospital, I just won’t be promoted to a senior position.

Can’t I find another hospital in a prefecture-level city for promotion?

After Dong Dao fell silent, he circled his cheek with his tongue several times, deeply puzzled: ”Lu Cheng, why do you always want to be at odds with me?”

”We hold no grudges against each other?”

Lu Cheng nodded: ”Director Dong, you misunderstood, we’ve never held grudges.”

”But you got it wrong again. It’s not that I want to be at odds with you, you want to be at odds with me.”

”First wanting to use my people, now wanting to fish in troubled waters using me.”

”It’s you who’s always wanted to bully me?”

”I’m just not letting you bully me, so then what?”

”You then run to my office and make such a scene?”

Lu Cheng looked at Dong Dao’s stern expression and continued to ask: ”What? Director Dong, are you not convinced by what I said?”

”Shall we invite an outsider to judge it?”

”Or, when you’re on duty, I ask the Dermatology Department to take your department’s intestinal rupture for intestinal repair surgery?”

”Try doing nothing about it?”

Of course, Dong Dao couldn’t agree, he didn’t dare to either.

This isn’t something he alone could decide.

At the hospital level, responsibility lies with the department first, then the individual.

If something happens, the director is the first to be held accountable, and when the director is questioned, can Dong Dao escape?

”When the same thing happens to you, you say nothing.”

”When you do this to me, you feel like I’m at odds with you.”

”Director Dong, can we talk nicely?”

”Don’t assume you’re superior, that your interests can override others’ freedom?”

Dong Dao left.

He came in angrily, but left without a trace of temper.

He even didn’t know when his temper was defused by Lu Cheng.

However, he had a feeling that Lu Cheng scolded him as nothing, leaving without even hate!

Why is that?

Wasn’t I intending to strangle him when I came in?

Dong Dao stood at the end of the Emergency Department, gazing deeply at Lu Cheng’s office for a moment.

Then quickly retracted his thoughts, starting to ponder on what to do next.

Lu Cheng is adept at handling things.

The spleen repair surgeries done by the Trauma Center are one of the main focus areas of the hospital’s surgical development, and it’s impossible for Hepatobiliary Surgery to be transferred to Gastrointestinal Surgery.
