System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

Foreign language proficiency, computer skills, Xu Shenghua is a master’s degree holder, Lu Cheng has published a few SCI papers, they are tied, both scoring 2 points.

1 point absolute kill.

”How is it?”

”Have you finished looking? Is there anything you disagree with?” Xu Shenghua asked.

”He can’t sign up!~” Du Yanke thought for a moment and decided to speak.

”Why can he sign up? He is still a few months short of completing five years of work.”

Lu Cheng’s intermediate title came out in August 2019, and only by August 2024 will it count as five years. Lu Cheng should apply next year like everyone else.

Xu Shenghua stared at Du Yanke: ”Du Yanke, do you have to hold onto this point?”

”If you really want to do this, I’ll have your department conduct a more detailed check on your other aspects, and if they really find something at that time?”

”Don’t blame me.”

It’s now the hospital’s introduction of materials for the deputy senior review, ultimately it’s marginal selection.

But those who don’t apply definitely won’t be selected.

Du Yanke was the one cut out.

”Then everyone has to be checked, Lu Cheng has to be checked, others have to be checked too… I don’t care, what am I afraid of…” Du Yanke puffed out his chest.

Xu Shenghua sneered, every year during the title review, such troublemakers appear.

People are selfish, heaven punishes the selfish.

Xu Shenghua can understand everyone’s drive, but you can’t completely act outside the rules: ”Anyway, you’ve seen the score sheet, and the notice has come out, we’ve reviewed the opinions you’ve raised.”

”The number of applications submitted this year is just these few, there’s no problem.”

”You need to process your emotions yourself.”

Du Yanke raised his head: ”Director Xu, you can’t do this!~”

”This Lu Cheng is a connection, if you don’t fight for fairness for us, there will be no place to speak.”

”The people inside the Health and Sanitation Committee all want to cover up things… This Lu Cheng clearly doesn’t meet the basic conditions for deputy senior application…”

Xu Shenghua tapped the table: ”You don’t have the qualification to see what it means to apply exceptionally, you simply don’t know the exceptional route!~”

”According to what you say, those who appear online as twenty-six-year-old professors, PhD advisors, should all be killed, should all be dead, right?”

”According to what you say, then…?”

Du Yanke’s voice was hoarse: ”But, this isn’t fair, I’ve always worked diligently, I’ve applied three times, each time it’s seniority, I’ve chosen to wait.”

”I haven’t complained.”

”Why this year, when it’s my turn, I have to make way for the young ones?”

”Director Xu, tell me, why?”

Xu Shenghua said: ”His technique is better than yours, he has more papers than you, more projects than you, more topics than you.”

”You’re not convinced?”

”If you’re not convinced, go be the leader and change this form!”

”If you’re not convinced, go withdraw the exceptional deputy senior application materials?”

”Why don’t you go?”

”Why can’t you do new surgeries, why don’t you learn new techniques?”

”If you could, you would have been promoted long ago.”

Du Yanke’s Adam’s apple moved, the sound of swallowing saliva gurgling, looking at Xu Shenghua in astonishment.

Director Xu has always been very worldly, but this time the voice was cutting, words indifferent, making him feel a bit unfamiliar.

”You should have some self-awareness about your own level! Don’t think everyone excellent is just a connection.”

”Now, who dares to do these little tricks in such matters?”

”Even if he’s a connection, his real achievements, techniques are right here, you can’t beat him by ability, why shout?”

Du Yanke was left red-faced: ”Without connections, without resources, without network, can only wait for death?”

”No, you must have ability!”

”If your ability is average, the reality is about this meaning.”

Xu Shenghua said lightly: ”If Du Yanke feels dissatisfied, thinks his ability is good, his strength is strong, you can leave.”

”No one is tying you down, if you leave today, tomorrow I can find a Zhang Yanke or Liu Yanke to come in, don’t believe, try it?”

”Why didn’t Lu Cheng leave?” Du Yanke knew his ability was average, working at Xiangzhou People’s Hospital, he’s a doctor at a top-level hospital.

Working at a County Hospital, he’s just an average level doctor, can’t change the hospital and department status.

”Who cares about you?”

”Is there anything else?”

”No, get out!!”

”Originally, we’re all adults and colleagues, seeing each other frequently, but you insisted on tarnishing yourself, acting like a rogue.”

”Since you don’t want face yourself, I don’t need to show you any respect.”

”If you truly have anything remarkable, show it early, don’t hide it, then I can directly decide and help Director Du pull Lu Cheng down…”

Du Yanke left disheartened, his silhouette somewhat bleak, somewhat lonely.

Exiting the Personnel Department’s door, the sunlight outside was still dazzling.

However, Du Yanke felt, today’s sunlight was a bit bleak, everything in sight, was a pale card.

”Why when waiting for seniority before, I’m the one who was consumed by it, when I’ve finally waited until I rise up, I’m still the one consumed.”

”Ordinary people, are they not worthy to live...” Du Yanke waited for the elevator.

Walking in the passage between the Personnel Department and the Specialist Building, watching the colleagues in white coats who are clocking in and out, watching the anxious patients and their families.

Du Yanke began to realize, he and these people, have no difference, although he’s a master’s degree holder, but stripping away the halo of his degree, he’s just an ordinary person.

Average qualifications, limited family background, no network, ultimately, he became just an ordinary person.

The ordinary person giving way to seniors above, giving way to geniuses below…

Just short by one point.

...

Lu Cheng was unaware.

After chatting with Tian Zhiliang, he returned to the trauma center.

Anyway, he had submitted all the materials for title application, whether he could pass, Lu Cheng wasn’t entirely sure.

Best if passed, if not, he would follow up for reasons.

In Xiangzhou People’s Hospital, there are too many tricksters, too many deities, then Lu Cheng would quickly slip away.

Of course, Lu Cheng really didn’t have much time to consider whether to slip away.

When he returned from Tian Zhiliang, before reaching the trauma center, a call from hand surgery, Xiang Dahong stopped Lu Cheng.

Lu Cheng and Xiang Dahong, had a period of ”mental connection” before formally interacting!

”Director Xiang. I’m Lu Cheng.” Lu Cheng greeted politely.

”Dr. Lu, are you busy now?”

”If convenient, could you come to the surgical ward operating room for some help?”

”There was a limb replant received in the morning, it’s my friend’s father from a city hospital, sent here.”

”His injury condition is somewhat special.” Xiang Dahong’s voice was polite and respectful.

Xiang Dahong is a hand surgeon, hand surgery is also orthopedic, being orthopedic knows how difficult limb preservation surgery is.

No matter how Lu Cheng ’hurt’ himself climbing titles down to the countryside, currently, Lu Cheng has completed limb preservation surgery, it is a fact.

Surgery is a technology-dominant industry, all the social dealings, all the evasive office tricks, actually lay beneath surgical skill.

Only without talent, unable to move professionally, do people think about such mysterious things.

”Now here at the trauma center, there aren’t many patients, but we’ve taken responsibility for a spleen injury today.”

”I can come, but if I receive a call, I have to leave immediately.” Lu Cheng replied.

”That’s natural, definitely cannot disturb Dr. Lu’s normal work, it’s best if you can come.” Xiang Dahong said: ”This severed limb is troublesome, it’s a gear injury, strictly classified, it can also be included as one of the destructive injuries.”
