Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

”You, how many times are you going to surprise me before you’ll finally give it a rest?

At first, I was just planting willows unintentionally, but I never expected you to grow so quickly.

I really underestimated you.”

Ming Dalak’s heart was extremely unwilling,

”How much do you actually know? What else do you not understand?”

Shrugging his shoulders, Yang Yu replied, ”I didn’t know everything from the start, you know.

As this war progressed, I was constantly adjusting my understanding and guesses.

Unfortunately, as soon as I grasped one thing, another unclear thing would emerge.

It took quite a while to gradually figure things out and understand them,

but fortunately, there were many opportunities, and I obtained a lot of key intelligence, only then was I able to clarify all this and set up my plan.

However, to this day, there is still one thing I can’t figure out.”

”What is it?” Ming Dalak was rarely intrigued.

”Clearly humans today are also a type of Subhuman, why would you exclude them from the race fusion?”

Actually, Yang Yu wasn’t sure if Ming Dalak had such intentions, this sentence was purely a probe.

Yang Yu didn’t expect that this probe would actually yield a huge revelation.

Ming Dalak let out a deep sigh, ”Have you already understood to this extent... what do you think about the fact that your humans are Subhumans?”

Yang Yu said, ”What is there to think?

At first, I was shocked, but on second thought it’s extremely reasonable.

Who can explain precisely the matter of blood spreading?

Tracing back three hundred generations, maybe my ancestor was an Emperor.

Accepted it very easily.”

”If everyone could accept this conclusion as simply as you do, perhaps what happened in the past wouldn’t have occurred.” Ming Dalak’s eyes couldn’t shake off the gloom, continuing, ”I once mentioned the Dark Age to you... have you learned about that buried history?”

Yang Yu folded his arms, saying, ”That was more than three hundred years ago, judging by your tone, it seems humans altered history, in this case, probably only Longevity Species like you would know the truth, I have reason not to know.”

Ming Dalak replied helplessly, ”True, you humans always come and go over these long years, very few try to delve into the real truth.

Always... as long as it’s beneficial to oneself, that’s how it’s done.

Well then, let me tell you about the underlying reasons for the persecution of various Subhumans more than three hundred years ago...

It was so absurd and uninteresting.”

Sitting up straight, Yang Yu said, ”Then I must listen carefully.”

Ming Dalak didn’t hesitate and unveiled that painful history:

”More than three hundred years ago, there was once a country named Chun Lan, it was a land where humans and Beastmen coexisted peacefully.

They had a kind King, and the kind King had a Queen.

They loved each other and ruled the country together.

However, the Queen was very unfaithful, having an affair with a Beastman male and giving birth to a Half-beast girl.

The King flew into a rage out of humiliation, vowing to kill all Beastmen, since then humans started to greatly expel and persecute Subhumans.”

????

Yang Yu wore a face full of confusion, ”Getting angry at a whole race just because he was cheated on, isn’t that too surreal?”

Ming Dalak stared at Yang Yu, speaking, ”I told you, historical truth is often more absurd than it appears.

Similar absurd histories have played out countless times in human history.

Allied against Darkness, the next moment potential conflict arises.

I’ve lived for nearly a thousand years, the first few hundred naively and freely.

But the few hundred years after leaving the Elf Forest, I have witnessed one absurd event after another.”

Yang Yu gestured for a pause, asking, ”Wait a second, didn’t the King prior have grievances with Beastmen, and being cheated on was just a breaking point?”

Ming Dalak answered resolutely, ”No.

It was purely because the King believed the Queen had relations with an unknown Beastman that a large-scale war of expelling Subhumans erupted.

If you are to speak of a further breaking point, it did exist.

After the Queen gave birth to the Half-beast baby girl, she insisted she had no relations with a Beastman, the child was indeed hers and the King’s...

If the Queen had pointed out the Beastman with whom she truly had an affair, after the King at that time killed that Beastman and the baby girl, maybe he could let go and fall in love with the Queen again...

As they say, the deeper the love, the harsher the blame.

But there is no if...

Clearly giving birth to a Half-beast child, yet insisting it was hers and the King’s, that Queen...

Midway through thinking, Yang Yu suddenly realized an even more absurd development, he spoke up:

”That child, is actually the culmination of the King and Queen themselves... right?”

Ming Dalak clapped, each sound was extremely heavy, without a hint of joy, and said bluntly:

”As expected of you.

Indeed, the real history is the human King and Queen gave birth to the Half-beast girl, the King mistakenly thought the Queen had relations with a Beastman, considering his own daughter as someone else’s child, thus initiating the war to expel Subhumans.

We united to uncover the truth, proving the Queen’s innocence, finally halting that foolish war completely, establishing Wansheng Country at the westernmost end of the Continent.

Seeing the Half-beast baby girl, nine out of ten people would directly presume the Queen had relations with a Beastman.

Even the King who always loved her was no exception.

The collapse of trust often happens in an instant.

Both the King and Queen carried some Beastman bloodline, but outwardly appeared human, their offspring, for some reason, possessed a much thicker Beastman bloodline, manifested as a Half-beast.

The traits of hybrid offspring of different races vary, hybrids and single races continuously producing descendants, many generations later, hybrid traits disappear completely.

But hybrids named half-xx human offspring, when combined with humans, the first generation might give birth to offspring completely human in appearance.

If two Half-beast human hybrids combine, offspring could be Beastman, human, or Half-beast.

Truly incredible.

A couple from Chun Lan, when fleeing, found us, upon seeing their seven children, we were inspired... to verify that possibility no one ever considered.

We dug into both sides’ genealogies, traced back step by step, and ultimately uncovered numerous pieces of intelligence.

I still can’t forget the expression of that foolish King learning he was born to a Half-beast concubine.

Baffled, incredulous, and more than that—regretful.”

As he spoke, Ming Dalak covered half his face with his hand, unable to prevent himself from breaking into mad laughter.

Yang Yu watched all this in silence, the famous pea experiment flashed through his mind.

The real hybridization of this world must be far more complicated than textbooks suggest.

Yang Yu didn’t know how much effort Ming Dalak and others expended under the lack of scientific knowledge to prove this fact...

But Yang Yu could easily imagine the massive blow Ming Dalak, various Subhumans, and humans received after uncovering this absurd truth.

No wonder this laughable history quietly vanished from the records.
