Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

After a lengthy registration process, Yang Yu calmly walked out of the VIP room of the adventurer guild, though he wished he could cover his face with both hands and find a hole to crawl into.

Messed up.

Messed up, this time undeniably messed up.

Yang Yu never expected that the form was just for viewing, and the one actually filling it out was Glarona.

”Our adventure group has grand ambitions. The pinnacle of adventurers is not our ending point. Our ultimate goal is to be unconquerable by anyone and to instill fear in them.

Therefore, I propose our adventure group be named....

[Demon King, Hero, if you dare, don’t run away].”

Originally, Yang Yu was just voicing his thoughts, coming up with the least possible name, expecting his comrades to brainstorm and eventually find a name truly belonging to their adventure group.

As a result, neither Bai Jin, Iyas, nor He Meng reacted at all to his random naming, showing no objections, so Glarona filled in the name he casually mentioned.

The tricky part was, to change the name after it was put in required using a name-change opportunity.

Looking at his companions all wearing expressions of ”so it’s settled,” Yang Yu felt an indescribable awkwardness.

By now, he couldn’t say, ”That name was just random; my intention was to have you think of what this adventure group should be called instead.”

Faced with the choice of a frank confession or letting it slide, Yang Yu agonized for a long time, eventually opting to let it slide.

After all, there’s still three months before the name of their adventure group would be exposed, during which he could do what he needed to do and slowly think of a new name.

The choice to let it slide also stemmed from Yang Yu’s worry that Bai Jin and the others would think he hadn’t thought deeply due to this incident, leading to doubt over his future odd moves and affecting the entire plan.

The next phase will demand the utmost trust.

With his partners trusting him so much, he had to fabricate a reason for the name if necessary.

Clearing the shameful memory from his mind, Yang Yu tore off the task he wanted, had Glarona complete the paperwork, and hurried to the pharmacy.

Before leaving, Yang Yu took a final glance at Glarona, who waved enthusiastically at Yang Yu and his team, bidding them farewell.

Not long after leaving the adventurer guild, Bai Jin finally couldn’t suppress the curiosity inside and communicated with Yang Yu via telepathy: ”Isn’t our... adventure group’s name a bit too ostentatious?

It looks vastly different from the names of current S-Class adventure groups... especially, it’s very unique.

Moreover, using those two terms, isn’t that a bit inappropriate?”

Squeezing half of his face to stop his twitching mouth, Yang Yu seriously responded to Bai Jin’s telepathy:

”There’s nothing inappropriate about it.

We are, after all, a newly born S-Class adventure group with no fame in this world. If we don’t create some buzz, most S-Class adventure groups won’t pay us any mind.

They’d only think we’re some unknown upstarts not worth mentioning, unwilling to get to know us.

The name I came up with might be flamboyant, but it would undeniably pique other S-Class adventurers’ interest, prompting them to actively look into us.

Obtaining some advanced equipment isn’t something that can be done just with money.

You heard what Glarona just said; most S-Class adventure groups have substantial backgrounds and are sure to possess the equipment we need.

Bartering sometimes isn’t just bartering; it’s exchanging things for connections.

If we can make them spend the effort to learn about us, that’s already a success.

Once they recognize our strength, it won’t take much effort to exchange with them for what we need.

Our time is running short.

Wasting one chance at naming to gain more time is worth it.

I know this name can’t be used long-term either, we’ll change it again sometime after it’s announced.”

Yang Yu’s reasoning was so convincing, it almost made him believe it too.

This hastily thought-up explanation successfully persuaded Bai Jin, who then used telepathy to convince the others.

Yang Yu couldn’t get over it in his heart, but at least he got by.

It wasn’t long after they left the adventurer guild that they met the pharmacy owner.

Upon learning that Yang Yu and his team had already been promoted to a Quasi-S-Class adventure group, the pharmacy owner changed his previous dismissive attitude and disclosed the situation around the Silver Crystal Grass to Yang Yu and his team.

Silver Crystal Grass is an extremely special herb, drastically different from other herb collection methods, needing to be uprooted entirely to ensure its potency.

An inexperienced gatherer without a safe collection environment couldn’t possibly uproot Silver Crystal Grass intact.

The task Yang Yu and his team had to do was extremely simple, which was to clear all the demons in the vicinity before the official picking began, allowing the gatherers to harvest in peace.

The Silver Crystal Grass had been out of stock for a long time.

In previous years at this time, the pharmacy would have earned a fortune, but didn’t expect that this year, all capable adventurers headed north, leaving no one to clear the demons.

If this continues, forget about taking extra orders, they wouldn’t even complete the existing orders, definitely ending in massive loss.

The pharmacy owner was initially planning to lower the task requirements if no one took on the task...

Now upon seeing Yang Yu, it was as if he’d seen a savior.

Normally, two teams of A-Class adventurers would suffice, but Yang Yu and his team as a Quasi-S-Class would definitely be more than enough.

The pharmacy owner asked Yang Yu and his team about their situation, and upon hearing that they could set off immediately, he immediately organized personnel to head to the Ghostly Cold Forest.

And Yang Yu and his team planned to grab a meal while the pharmacy prepared.

Just as Yang Yu dismounted from Lotcar, a shabby passerby suddenly stepped forward from the throng, reaching out to Yang Yu.

Yang Yu reacted swiftly, grasping the shabby man’s wrist before he could grab him.

A strong smell of alcohol wafted from the shabby man.

His face was pale, eyes deeply sunken, full of stubble, yet there was a glimmer of light, a spark of hope, in his eyes.

Even as Yang Yu tightly held his wrist, the shabby man showed no signs of pain or flinching.

”Please... please... kill that thing for me!

Only you can handle it, I... I am a useless man.

I couldn’t find anyone else, so I had to come and beg you.

Please... please, avenge them for me.

What do you want? I’ll give you everything, even my life.

I beg you... please kill that thing.

I’m begging you...”

The man’s voice trembled intensely, tears involuntarily flowed from his eyes, his knees slightly bending as if about to kneel before Yang Yu.

But Yang Yu lifted him up by his arm, preventing him from kneeling, then pushed him forward, causing the man to sit down on the ground.

The light in the shabby man’s eyes vanished in an instant, leaving a lifeless look.

Yang Yu sighed heavily and said, ”Sir, this is not how you ask for help.

This isn’t the place to talk either, shall we take it elsewhere?

Don’t be so vague, tell me exactly what’s going on.”
