Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

In He Meng’s head, it was as if a swarm of bees were buzzing about collecting nectar, leaving her dazed and in agony.

This was the downside of sharing sensations with an ”avatar.”

If the semi-liquid split encounters an attack, the sensation reflects in real-time on the main body.

The larger the avatar split, the stronger and more real the feeling, even affecting the mind of the main body.

The ”avatar” He Meng used for reconnaissance was as large as her Slime form.

To comply with Yang Yu’s request, He Meng further connected her senses with the blue Water Ball avatar to explore the palace interior as thoroughly as possible.

The impact of the Water Ball being destroyed feedbacked instantly onto He Meng, and those giant claws seemed to really strike her body.

He Meng fell into Iyas’s arms, limbs limp, almost reverting to a Slime.

Yang Yu furrowed his brow, drew his sword and shield, planting them in the snow, instructing the group to stay alert and not act rashly, waiting for He Meng to awaken.

After a while, the impact of the avatar being destroyed subsided from He Meng’s body.

She opened her eyes, trying hard to recall the scene seen before the Water Ball burst:

”That creature is very large, as big as a mountain.

It has scythe-like claws and crocodile-like gray-green scales.

It resembles the giant dragons we’ve seen before yet feels somewhat different.

I can feel that creature is very strong.”

Yang Yu pinched his chin, his expression severe:

”It has already become nearly like a giant dragon, as expected, this is its evolution direction...

He Meng, did you see anything like shed skin near it?

What else did you see?”

He Meng shook her head, ”That’s all I saw. It reacted quickly; the Water Ball was crushed as soon as it went in, otherwise, I could have seen more.”

”What do you think, how strong is that creature?” Yang Yu pressed.

He Meng thought for a moment, then replied, ”It’s stronger than all of us combined, but not overwhelmingly strong. At least, my instincts didn’t tell me to run at first sight.”

”Not overwhelmingly strong? If you say so, now is indeed a perfect opportunity to defeat it.”

Yang Yu crossed his arms, pondered for a moment, then looked at Bin Luo there by his side:

”I hope you can keep what happens next confidential. Some of the things you document must be replaced with what I instruct.”

Bin Luo didn’t know why Yang Yu suddenly said this, but he nodded anyway.

Before long, Bin Luo witnessed a scene that shocked him greatly.

Yang Yu said a few words to He Meng, and unexpectedly, He Meng shrank into a Slime, jumping into his palm.

”This this this...” Bin Luo was momentarily speechless.

”I will personally scout the interior of the Cold Ice Palace, whether to fight, if we should fight, and how to fight, will be decided after I return. Stay here, and stay safe.”

After speaking, Yang Yu pulled the sword from the snow, fastened it to his waist, picked up the shield planted in the ground, allowed He Meng to crawl into the narrow gap between the shield and his arm, and directly walked into the Cold Ice Palace.

Yang Yu didn’t know the exact length of the palace corridor, but he could use throwing He Meng to cover a long distance. Even if something happened, he should be able to avoid danger in time.

Setting foot on the ice-formed corridor again, each step echoed crisply through the pristine corridor.

Step by step...

After passing through the long corridor, Yang Yu’s eyes suddenly widened, a splendidly decorated hall appeared before him, with beautiful artisan pieces made entirely of ice everywhere he looked.

But there was no sign of the giant dragon He Meng mentioned.

No matter how many times he scanned, the hall remained empty, devoid of any peculiar creatures.

Cautiously advancing, upon entering the hall, Yang Yu stepped on a pool of blue liquid, upon closer inspection, it was He Meng’s crushed avatar.

There was no doubt, that bizarre creature was just here.

Using his vision to scout, Yang Yu could see some frozen red bloodstains on the ground, but no signs of fighting.

Some of the ice sculptures had cracks, and a female ice sculpture had obvious break marks on its neck.

No mistake, that sculpture had been damaged but was repaired by someone.

Hiding?

Is it trying to lure me deeper in?

The hall had stairs leading to higher floors, Yang Yu didn’t know how many rooms this Cold Ice Palace had, exploring each was quite a perilous task.

But he had to do it.

Without much hesitation, Yang Yu decided to explore from the top floor of the palace.

He didn’t walk far before hearing the sound of something freezing rapidly, suddenly, a red light flashed under his feet, looking down, a huge red Dragon Eye stared directly at him.

Yang Yu jumped back and drew his sword in preparation for battle.

One after another, giant red Dragon Eyes started spreading rapidly around that central Dragon Eye.

On the floor, walls, ceiling, eerie red pupils covered everything, seemingly watching Yang Yu thoroughly from every angle.

With a sense of doom, Yang Yu glanced at the exit, countless magic ice grew from the corridor’s inner walls, forming cold and sharp spikes.

The icy spikes collided, shattering into fragments, becoming cold mist, the mist turning into Ice Crystals, filling the gaps between the spikes, blocking the corridor completely in an instant.

All the red Dragon Eyes brightened in unison, exuding an extremely ominous red glow.

It was a trap.

No doubt, he had fallen into the trap of that mysterious creature.

Despite how strong that monster might be, wiping out a hundred people instantly was considerably difficult.

Furthermore...

Among them were many seasoned adventurers; protecting one or two to break through shouldn’t be too hard.

The reason no one survived, the hundred-member temporary adventure group must have fallen into this trap as well.

Seeing such a sight for the first time, many adventurers present surely couldn’t react in time, eventually being engulfed by the attack from these red pupils.

Even if barely surviving, escaping through the corridor would be impossible.

They could only run around this Cold Ice Palace, exhausted, finally meeting their end here.

As the unknown skill in the Dragon Eyes was about to activate, Yang Yu grabbed He Meng and threw her towards the stairs leading to the second floor.

Immediately afterward, he followed up with a [Protective Assistance Charge] to catch up with He Meng.

As expected, the second-floor passage was also covered with this ice, but Yang Yu could see through the thin ice into the second-floor passage’s scene.

The ice walls on the second floor were not as thick as expected.

”[Red Blood Path]”

Grasping He Meng, with red energy swirling in front of him, in an instant, Yang Yu shot up the stairs like a swiftly flying bullet, smashing through the ice wall before him.
