Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Everyone on the battlefield was quietly watching Yang Yu.

The soldiers of the Wansheng Republic were extremely surprised when they saw Yang Yu. They could never have imagined that the hero who once brought them victory would now emerge from the side of the humans.

Recalling the rumors in Baihua City, the beastman soldiers clenched their weapons unwillingly. Could it be that General Potato Thorn really had betrayed them and sided with the humans?

General Luo Ze Empire gazed at Yang Yu in the center of the battlefield and swallowed nervously.

They had no idea how a colorful-haired masked man suddenly jumped out from behind them.

Several soldiers capable of using telepathy quickly ran to the generals and explained the situation:

”General, don’t worry. The colorful-haired masked man in the center of the battlefield is a fake, disguised by Vice General Yang Yu. His aim is to destroy the vulnerable inner defenses of the beastmen.”

Upon hearing this, the generals of the Luo Ze Empire collectively let out a sigh of relief, all prepared to sit back and watch the show.

They wanted to see if Yang Yu, who had won many battles before, could really trick these beastmen and, as he claimed, break their inner defenses.

Yang Yu signaled Bai Jin, who flew into the sky from Lotcar’s back.

Everyone looked towards Bai Jin, who flew high into the sky at Yang Yu’s command, but they were brought back to the center of the battlefield by Yang Yu’s words:

”Long time no see, Marco.”

A familiar scent wafted through the air, and Marco was certain that the man before him was a hundred percent Potato Thorn. Yet, the more certain he was, the less he dared to believe:

”General Potato...why stand with the humans? Weren’t you our partner, our hero?”

Marco’s words were the same question many beastmen wanted to ask.

Yang Yu’s remarkable performance over the past year had already become a favorite topic of conversation among the beastman soldiers, with many beastmen even setting Yang Yu as a heroic figure to aspire to.

However, they could never have expected their revered Yang Yu to stand against them.

Faced with this former hero, countless beastman soldiers were at a loss, their eyes full of confusion.

It was because of Yang Yu’s existence that Wansheng Country had slowly emerged from the abyss, and Yang Yu had long forged legend after legend in their hearts.

If Yang Yu were to become their enemy, the beastmen would not know what the future held. It was possible that this hero might push the country he saved with his own hands back into the abyss.

The scene was silent, all the beastmen anxiously waiting for Yang Yu’s answer.

They were so eager for Yang Yu’s answer that they completely overlooked Bai Jin taking out the Magic Wand Sigh Seed, floating in mid-air and beginning to chant a spell.

Removing his mask to reveal his true face, Yang Yu stared at Marco and said:

”Marco, you got one thing wrong. I am not your hero, nor have I ever said I would always stand by your side.”

Hearing Yang Yu’s answer, Marco furrowed his brows, and like the other beastmen soldiers, he couldn’t accept Yang Yu’s response for a moment.

”Can you tell me why you’re doing this? Is it because you’re human that you stand on that side?”

”No...” Yang Yu shook his head, took off his wig, and replied, ”I am not human, strictly speaking, I am also subhuman.”

The beastmen’s expressions shifted subtly, with several Luo Ze generals revealing knowing smiles.

In their view, the beastmen had long regarded Yang Yu as the real colorful-haired masked man.

Yang Yu not only aimed to kill but to crush spirits, to completely eradicate the will of the beastmen.

Now, only the real colorful-haired masked man could possibly stop him.

Just as several Luo Ze generals thought this, they saw Yang Yu pull out a massive Flame Dragon Shield and a slender sword.

It was only then that a few Luo Ze generals sensed something was amiss; the weapons in Yang Yu’s hands were identical to those reported by the Luo Ze Elite.

Beastmen possess extremely sensitive smell and hearing, strong enough that just by smelling a person’s scent or hearing a person’s voice, they can easily identify someone’s identity.

No matter how much Yang Yu dressed like the colorful-haired masked man, his scent, his voice could never change to be like the colorful-haired masked man, nor could he speak so calmly with a general from the enemy side...

Unless...

Yang Yu was the real colorful-haired masked man.

”Marco, you may find this unbelievable.

But I can tell you clearly, this war is meaningless.

I have never stood on Wansheng Country’s side, nor the side of Luo Ze Empire.

My purpose from the beginning has only ever been one.

The reason I’m here is solely to stop this senseless war.”

Yang Yu’s words were resolute, echoing throughout the vast battlefield.

The generals of Luo Ze Empire had completely realized that Yang Yu wasn’t lying; he was indeed the real colorful-haired masked man.

These generals quickly used telepathy to contact nearby officers, instructing them to prepare for Yang Yu’s impending betrayal.

But how could Yang Yu not have noticed their little tricks?

Yang Yu slowly turned, his gaze toward Luo Ze’s troops revealed a sharpness, like a dagger stabbing the present Luo Ze generals, rendering them immobile.

Yang Yu raised his hand, pointing to the sky, and said:

”Take a good look above you. Do not act rashly and stay put.”

All the generals lifted their heads, only to see Bai Jin holding a magic wand, and from her wand, a massive magic array spread out. Countless dark clouds ascended from Bai Jin’s magic array, extending rapidly in all directions, blocking the sky and sun, with shadows cast by the clouds enveloping all forces near the Beidong River.

”What exactly do you want to do!”

A Luo Ze general couldn’t help but shout, and the soldiers behind him responded one after another, picking up their weapons.

Yang Yu pointed heavily at Luo Ze’s troops, warning:

”I’ve already said, do not act rashly. If you want to die, then feel free to come at me! At that point, I couldn’t say how you’ll perish.”

”Doing this...would be treason. If we die, the Empire will definitely avenge us. The giant dragons won’t sit idly by either.” another general shouted.

”Oh? Is that so?”

Yang Yu took out a Memory Crystal, and the scene within it began playing amid the battlefield, replaying the big fire in Benliang City from that day before everyone’s eyes.

The cruel images and harsh screams shook the fragile inner defenses of everyone’s hearts.

Midway through, Yang Yu tossed the Memory Crystal to the ground, crushing it with a foot, glaring fiercely at all Luo Ze soldiers present, declaring:

”The giant dragons will sit idly by.

Because I am a traitor, and to both the Wansheng Republic and Luo Ze Empire, I am a traitor.

A traitor has to face all kinds of consequences, but also has their freedoms, and won’t just foolishly wait to be killed.

You expose high-level combat power for hunting me down, the giant dragons won’t interfere. For your pursuit, I go all out, the giant dragons won’t interfere either.

I now assume you want to ’hunt’ me down.

If you insist, even if I’m not a ’traitor’, what happens next all conforms to the rules...

Just like the fire in Benliang City.”
