Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Wansheng Republic, Baihua City, a certain basement.

After the war resumed, in order to ensure its smooth progress, Ming Dalak worked day and night, sleeping only three to four hours every day.

As a member of the Longevity Species, although he didn’t have to worry about dying suddenly from staying up late, the long-term high-load work still made Ming Dalak feel fatigue that even skills couldn’t eliminate.

His hands and feet seemed to be shackled with heavy chains, and his back felt as if he was carrying someone uncomfortably.

If this continues, Ming Dalak’s physical functions would temporarily shut down, forcing him to stop working and enter sleep.

Ironically, after learning that Yang Yu had made a ruthless statement and the war between the two countries had come to a halt, Ming Dalak enjoyed a good sleep.

The day before, after listening to a report, he felt dizzy, and while working, he collapsed on the desk and slept for a full twelve hours.

In his dreams, Ming Dalak met his old comrades who fought together — the first King and the first Grand General of this country.

Their voices and smiles were deeply imprinted in Ming Dalak’s memory, and everything he experienced seemed like just yesterday.

As their advisor, he exerted every effort to help them realize their dreams.

The three shared joys and sorrows and went through countless events together.

Unfortunately, time spares no one.

In the blink of an eye, two of the three had grown old.

No matter how great they were, they couldn’t escape the fate of ordinary Subhumans; the spirited youths quickly turned into white-haired elders.

In a flash, many years passed, and the young man who became King was already buried in the earth.

Before dying, he told his descendants that when necessary, to fight for their survival.

He hoped the people of Wansheng would never forget the purpose of its establishment.

The other young man lived through the era of war between Wansheng Country and Luo Ze Empire due to his special race, plus being baptized with the giant dragon species essence.

The secluded special subhuman species were manipulated by various intertwined, interest-driven Nobles...

The fragmented subhuman race left the first Grand General, who lived over three hundred years, deeply pained.

This completely went against the original intent of founding Wansheng Country.

Feeling that his end was near, the first Grand General hoped Ming Dalak could use his death to do something, so he desperately contacted Ming Dalak.

After the death of Wansheng Country’s first King, Ming Dalak realized the vastness of the world and once left Wansheng Country, entrusting state affairs to a reliable Disciple.

But years later...

High positions were no longer inherited by capable people, the system for selecting talented individuals was neglected, and the court gradually decayed.

When Ming Dalak returned to take over this mess, he was met with considerable resistance.

Many Beastmen said, this is the Beastmen’s business, elves should not interfere.

”Beastmen, not Subhumans...”

Muttering this, knowing the mess Wansheng Country was in, Ming Dalak still took over.

When Ming Dalak took over, the situation domestically was chaotic.

To stabilize the domestic situation and garner support from various secluded Subhuman tribes, Ming Dalak did not hesitate to contact missionaries from the Curse Sect he encountered in the past, seeking cooperation, step by step reaching this point today.

But, reaching just this point is not enough.

If he stops here, it would be no different from the past.

After brief unity, the subhuman tribes would still retreat into their niches, ignoring the concept of nation.

Ming Dalak must fight, making all subhumans realize they are all part of a single nation and must do something for the country, to defend the dreams of his friends.

Awakening from sleep, Ming Dalak once again immersed himself in work, shifting his focus from resource allocation, gradually changing to how to deal with the troublesome presence of Yang Yu.

Yang Yu reappeared, but those powerful wanting to deal with him were surprisingly few.

People he contacted before changed their minds after hearing of Yang Yu’s actions.

To judge Yang Yu as a traitor, Ming Dalak could only try to offer something persuasive to high-level forces, exchanging more benefits.

Recently, Ming Dalak was at his wit’s end with these matters, progressing slowly.

”Governor, Blood Lion Patriarch sent word, saying he is willing to have a good talk with you concerning the Colorful-haired Masked Man.” Secretary Lorena spoke.

”Inviting me at this particular time. Perhaps not to agree to assist me, but to try to persuade me.” Ming Dalak glanced at the invitation in Lorena’s hand.

”Should we decline?” Lorena asked.

Ming Dalak interlaced his fingers, thought for a moment, then carefully read the letter again, sensing something.

”No need, I’ll have a good talk with them!”

”Them?”

Initially puzzled, Lorena seemed to guess something, startled inside, urgently wanting to stop, but was interrupted by Ming Dalak:

”Go prepare immediately!”

Lorena seeing Ming Dalak had decided, said nothing more, simply replied ”Yes,” and went to prepare.

Ming Dalak alone in the basement, gazed at the letter, lowered his head, wondering in the silence.

The car was soon ready.

Ming Dalak without hesitation boarded the carriage, arriving at the Blood Lion residence.

There, Yang Yu and his companions had been waiting for quite some time.

Yang Yu and his comrades stood on the spacious drill ground; Ming Dalak seeing Yang Yu wasn’t surprised, walked boldly towards him.

Wan Huawen watched the whole scene silently.

Apart from Wan Huawen, no other Blood Lions were present.

Last night, Yang Yu secretly sneaked to his residence, and after a brief chat, Wan Huawen admired Yang Yu, decided to help him, and wrote the letter held by Ming Dalak.

To avoid unnecessary trouble from the Blood Lion Clan, Wan Huawen further commanded no one could approach the vast field today.

Yang Yu deeply appreciated Wan Huawen’s actions, smiled and first greeted Ming Dalak:

”Long time no see, Minister Ming Dalak.

Perhaps now I should call you Great Governor.

I thought you wouldn’t come.

If you didn’t come, I would have had to resort to some extraordinary means to meet you.”

Ming Dalak approached Yang Yu, Lorena wanted to follow Ming Dalak but was stopped by his gesture.

That Wan Huawen wrote the letter indicates the Blood Lions already sided with Yang Yu and them.

The Blood Lion Patriarch of such strength, there might be few opponents in the whole Wansheng Republic.

Beastman soldiers lost spirit, Yang Yu hid under Blood Lion’s shelter; sooner or later this will become a situation for negotiation...

No matter, negotiation it is.

Ming Dalak also wanted to hear Yang Yu’s thoughts.

He spoke: ”I know very well your reason for coming here.

Is it to want me to stop this war?

The reason I started this war, you know very well, right?”

Yang Yu smiled, replied: ”It’s nothing but to achieve fusion between races...

This war, you are not the planner, just going with the flow, wanting to gradually achieve your goal.

For this, you even colluded with those hiding in the darkness, plotting in secret.”
