Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

”Hmph—I knew you came for this.” Mr. Chilom said grumpily.

”Making money is secondary, updating equipment requires a lot of money, please be understanding.”

Saying this, Yang Yu placed various foods extracted from the system on the table.

Mr. Chilom tasted one, and his deep-set eyes instantly brightened. He began eating quickly, being captivated by the unique flavors of the various snacks and treats.

The troubling matter of how to end this war was temporarily put aside.

After a long time, Mr. Chilom patted his belly in satisfaction:

”Kid, I’ve been in a bad mood lately.

You’ve brought so many good things, you really didn’t disappoint me.

Tell me, how much do you want? As long as it’s not too excessive, I’ll give it to you.”

Yang Yu interlaced his fingers, placing his elbows on the table: ”Being able to satisfy Mr. Chilom is better than anything else.

I have something else I want to give you, it’s a secret formula.

You’ll undoubtedly be surprised when you see it.

If you can recreate what’s on it, it will open the door to a new world for you.”

Upon hearing Yang Yu say this, Mr. Chilom’s interest was piqued.

At the right moment, Yang Yu took a piece of paper from the system, covering it, and slid it in front of Mr. Chilom.

At first, Mr. Chilom thought what Yang Yu handed over was just a formula. When he opened it, the smile on his face instantly froze.

”How about it, Mr. Chilom, can you make what’s on this formula?”

Yang Yu’s voice sounded again, pulling Mr. Chilom’s thoughts back to reality. He first chuckled, and then couldn’t help but laugh out loud:

”Hahahaha! You clever kid, you’ve given me a huge challenge. This formula is quite special. It’s just a formula, yet you want me to recreate it, quite difficult indeed.”

Yang Yu said helplessly: ”There were originally some samples, but because that thing was too delicious, I couldn’t resist eating it all.

If it can be manufactured, I guarantee there’s at least an eighty percent chance of establishing a new culinary standard.

I am the only one who has tasted that thing. If you don’t mind, I’m willing to be a taste tester to see if Mr. Chilom’s creation is exactly the same.”

Mr. Chilom casually pocketed the ”recipe” and laughed: ”Since you said so, there’s no choice. This formula must be kept secret. If successful, it will become a new wealth secret code, and you’ll surely be overflowing with riches.

Yet, I don’t care whether this secret formula becomes a new code for wealth, nor if you’ll end up rich.

I just want to try and see if I can create this unprecedented dish according to the formula.

I’ve been eagerly wanting to do it.

Everyone, get out. Without my orders, don’t come near the kitchen.

As for you, and your companions...

I seldom let others see me cook, but this time, a special show for you.”

After speaking, Mr. Chilom laughed heartily and turned to enter the kitchen, with Yang Yu following closely behind Bai Jin and her companions.

Once in the kitchen, Yang Yu immediately suggested:

”My companion can use soundproofing magic. To prevent the recipe from leaking, let her cast a soundproofing spell so we can discuss the recipe seriously.”

Mr. Chilom nodded with a smile: ”That would be helpful. You never know, so I understand your concern.”

With permission given, Bai Jin’s wand expanded its magical barrier, gradually enveloping everyone.

Mr. Chilom prepared the ingredients in earnest, but his previous smile seemed fake, entirely vanished from his face.

While chopping vegetables, he started speaking with a serious tone:

”Everything written on the paper, is it true? Are you really the Colorful-haired Masked Man?”

Yang Yu nodded, ”I know it’s difficult for you to accept, but that’s the truth. There are many ways to prove I’m the Colorful-haired Masked Man... For example, I can accurately state the time of each battle, and what I did on that day...”

Yang Yu openly detailed his life in the military camp of Wansheng Country, his encounter with the Peace Faction in Luo Ze Empire, and the thoughts behind those actions.

These descriptions barely convinced Mr. Chilom.

”...It does seem plausible. For now, I’ll believe you’re the Colorful-haired Masked Man. Why would the renowned Colorful-haired Masked Man appear in Luo Ze Empire?”

Mr. Chilom’s words were slightly displeased, dissatisfied with Yang Yu’s previous deeds. He was trying hard to restrain himself, but the immense losses suffered in Benliang City were far beyond his imagination.

”After saying so much, do you still not understand?

My goal is the same as yours.

On a personal level, I am very grateful for what the Peace Faction of Luo Ze Empire has done.

Without your actions, many more Beastmen might have died on the plains.

As for that massacre... I truly apologize, I just couldn’t think of a better plan.

But after the great fire, I made every effort to provide aid, and with the giant dragon’s descent, managed to barely keep the casualties under control.

Unfortunately, negotiations broke down, and you couldn’t know exactly how many survived.”

”Is that so...” Mr. Chilom stopped chopping, ”In Benliang City’s army, there were also people from our Peace Faction. I know it’s a luxury to hope for, but I still wish he survived.

Can you tell me why you think negotiations would break down?

I’ve heard a bit about your actions during negotiations. Was everything planned by you?

Couldn’t it be solved at the negotiating table?”

Yang Yu nodded again, ”No, it couldn’t be solved.

You should have noticed, right?

Such a war result, Luoze Empire’s attitude... and certain attitudes I’m aware of...

True peace cannot be achieved at the negotiating table.

This outcome was inevitable. I just let this inevitability happen ahead of schedule.

Perhaps, Mr. Chilom may have realized that this country is already controlled by forces not belonging to it.

They’re pushing both countries toward warfare and have been doing so persistently.

This is likely in anticipation of the impending demon king descent.”

Hearing the words ”demon king descent” from Yang Yu’s mouth, Mr. Chilom instantly became alert, staring firmly at Yang Yu, questioning:

”Who are you really? How do you know about such things?”

Yang Yu smiled slightly and said, ”I’m just an ordinary person, one who’s been forced to inherit relics.

Aside from peace, I’ve been guided by the relic within me to come to Luo Ze Empire, to see what the relic in Luo Ze Empire truly looks like.

That’s temporarily unimportant.

I have a plan to bring out the true mastermind behind this war.

If successful, the two countries may achieve true peace, and I can fulfill my own purpose.

To implement this plan, I need to ally with you.”
