Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

”[Interception]!”

Countless ice shards fell from the ceiling like raindrops. Yang Yu raised his shield, releasing the Illusion Shield for defense.

The ice shards struck the smooth ceiling, transforming into countless white frosts.

Dragon Breaker NO.001 gently clenched its hand, and the cold air instantly solidified, spawning sharp icy spikes from the ceiling.

He Meng dashed out from the shield, extending her body, attempting to use herself to shield against the continuously advancing Ice Spurs.

Unexpectedly, Yang Yu put away the shield, grabbed her by the body, and held her like a rugby ball.

Bending his legs and gathering strength, Yang Yu leaped down from the ceiling towards Dragon Breaker NO.001.

The previous attack clearly indicated that Dragon Breaker NO.001 indeed had control over the frosty air inside this Cold Ice Palace.

If they didn’t escape the ceiling in time, they would surely be frozen by the ever-expanding frost, unable to move.

They had to move.

They had to keep moving continually.

Once immobilized, they would be subjected to its whims.

Seeing Yang Yu actively attacking, Dragon Breaker NO.001 stepped back a few paces, spreading its scythe-like sharp claws as red currents flashed, infusing its claws with a dazzling orange glow.

Dragon Breaker NO.001 unexpectedly used the same [Double-sided Slash] as Yang Yu.

It detected that Yang Yu was difficult to handle, intending to settle the battle with one decisive blow.

Dragon Breaker NO.001’s blood volume was a whopping 140,000, bolstered by the Power of Giant Dragon.

This move, if it hit, could instantly deal over 20,000 damage.

That was one-third of Yang Yu’s blood.

Head downwards, Yang Yu seemed hard-pressed to dodge this strike, but he had already calculated his next attack.

He grabbed He Meng and threw her behind Dragon Breaker NO.001, using [Protective Assistance Charge] Shifting Position to appear behind Dragon Breaker NO.001 in an instant.

A bright crimson light pierced Yang Yu’s arm, coating his sword blade in a reddish-orange glow. Yang Yu also unleashed [Double-sided Slash], stabbing his sword into Dragon Breaker NO.001’s back.

A painful howl echoed through the vast hall, as Dragon Breaker NO.001 swung its massive body, unable to believe how easily Yang Yu’s sword penetrated its hardened scales.

Twisting the sword blade, Yang Yu pivoted, gathering He Meng into his arms, standing securely on Dragon Breaker NO.001’s back.

Pulling the sword out, dark red blood gushed from Dragon Breaker NO.001’s wound.

Running along Dragon Breaker NO.001’s back, Yang Yu advanced towards its head, a shadow chasing his sword blade.

Before Yang Yu could reach the head, Dragon Breaker NO.001 roared again, a deafening sound as the ice cones hanging from the ceiling swayed and fell.

Dragon Breaker NO.001 no longer cared about whether the ice cones would harm it, merely wanting to use the falling ice cones to drive Yang Yu off its back.

However, Yang Yu had already reached its head, swinging the black sword blade to add a new scar.

Yet, Yang Yu, standing on its head, aimed to plunge the blood-dropping sword into its eye.

The sword blade reflecting in its pupil moved ever-closer, forcing Dragon Breaker NO.001 to release its internal magic power to create a shockwave sending Yang Yu towards the descending ice cones.

Dragon Breaker NO.001’s control over magic power was extremely refined, only lifting Yang Yu without affecting the falling ice cones.

Its intention was very straightforward.

If Yang Yu dared to turn his back, it would aim its sharp claws at Yang Yu’s back, tearing him apart.

If Yang Yu did nothing, he would await being pierced by the sharp ice cones.

What Dragon Breaker NO.001 didn’t anticipate was Yang Yu extending his hand towards the nearest large ice cone, from which a few purple thorns sprouted.

Grasping one of the thorns, Yang Yu pulled hard, altering the descent of the ice cone, flipping to stand beneath the large ice cone.

Numerous small ice cones crashed into the large ice cone he was on, yet the large ice cone remained on course, heading directly toward Dragon Breaker NO.001.

Wielding scythe-like claws, Dragon Breaker NO.001 bore the damage caused by the falling ice cone, slicing the ice cone Yang Yu was riding into pieces.

Yet Yang Yu had leaped off the ice cone long before, landing amidst the white frost.

Without any pause, Yang Yu retrieved his shield, charging at Dragon Breaker NO.001.

Although it might take some time, he and He Meng together were sufficient to handle this Dragon Breaker.

In fact, luckily, it was just him and He Meng here.

This Dragon Breaker NO.001 was ”skilled in both arts and warfare,” possessing scythe-like sharp claws capable of swiftly shredding everything, and manipulating cold magic power within this palace at will.

Although the hall of the Cold Ice Palace was spacious, it was still too narrow for Yang Yu’s team.

The characteristics of Dragon Breaker NO.001 made it impossible to take him down in a short period.

Bai Jin and her companions didn’t have the mobility of Yang Yu. Facing a mound of ice puppets, they would undoubtedly be constrained.

Once their defensive means were exhausted, they would face waves of relentless attacks.

No matter how well Yang Yu and He Meng defended, it would be impossible to protect Bai Jin and her companions from being overwhelmed by the intense attacks.

There was a reason Dragon Breaker NO.001 chose to hide here.

If adventurers rushed in boldly, it could quickly eliminate a large number of less capable adventurers.

The elite adventurers who dared to fight it head-on would also struggle against the pervasive cold, ultimately exposing vulnerabilities to be annihilated.

This dragon hiding in the palace is suitable for individuals with high mobility and extreme agility to solo raid. More numbers would only be a burden.

If the number increases, even if they finally take down this dragon, they would undeniably suffer heavy losses.

The cold coalesced again around Yang Yu, forming one ice cone after another.

With a swing of the sword blade, he continuously cut through several ice cones blocking his path, moving to Dragon Breaker NO.001’s right foot to slash the ankle.

Immediately, blood splattered as Dragon Breaker NO.001’s heel was sliced, missing a chunk of flesh.

While striking ice puppets, Yang Yu continuously built up the Passive effects of [Fierce Battle Spirit] and [Blazing Blood]. Even if there were intermittent breaks, it didn’t affect Yang Yu’s ability to fight more fiercely.

Even without using a skill, Yang Yu could deal nearly a thousand damage to Dragon Breaker NO.001.

Dragon Breaker NO.001 roared again, raising its foot to stomp down on Yang Yu.

Yang Yu jumped back, evading Dragon Breaker NO.001’s trample.

The ice beneath shattered as Dragon Breaker NO.001 activated [Earth Split], the heavy force field spreading from its foot.

Stopping in his tracks, Yang Yu countered with [Blood Burst Earth], a red stream erupted from him, burrowing into the ground, rapidly shattering the ice beneath him.

Two distinct deceleration fields collided and overlapped.

According to the theory of game speed relativity, slowing others is equivalent to speeding oneself up, speeding oneself up is equivalent to slowing others, and mutually slowing down results in no change in speed.
