Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Yang Yu repeatedly confirmed certain things with Tico, and Tico patiently answered Yang Yu’s questions.

”The simplest way to avoid having your soul controlled by others is to apply a layer of magical protection on yourself.

But this requires a high level of mastery in magic, something only high-level mages use.

Whether or not there is magical protection, a high-level mage can see it at a glance.

In short, it will become very noticeable.

Another method is to drink specially made potions.

Potions that counteract spiritual intrusion were once highly effective against some evil mages or enchanting demons, and recipes can be found in many places.

The library also contains many effective recipes, which I just showed you.

The best potion is the deep blue [Enhanced Spiritual Intrusion Protection Medicine].

Once consumed, it ensures that you won’t be affected by soul control skills for a month.

Unfortunately, most of the ingredients required to make such a potion are extremely precious. Based on what you said, I showed you the distribution map of the materials...”

”You’ve been a great help.” Flipping through his notes, confirming that the map he drew was not much different from the one Tico provided, Yang Yu closed his notebook and smiled at Tico: ”Tico, I will always remember your kindness to us.”

Tico’s face flushed, and she said, ”It’s really exaggerated, I just did what I could. We’re friends, that’s normal.”

”It’ll be busy for a while, and we won’t be able to contact. Next time, I’ll definitely thank you in person. When we meet, if you need any help, don’t hesitate to ask.”

Even if feeling a hint of loneliness, Tico didn’t show it but just bid farewell with a smile:

”Alright. Goodbye, don’t forget to say hello to Latis for me.”

After confirming everything that needed confirmation, unknowingly, the sun set in the west.

After lunch, Yang Yu asked Bai Jin and the others to rest well for the journey tomorrow, while he spent some time organizing the contents in his mind.

Early the next morning, after Bai Jin and her companions finished packing, Yang Yu shared part of the plan with his partners.

”...in simple terms, that’s it.

Next, we need to uncover the real mastermind behind triggering this war.

I can’t say their identity yet.

The opponent has the power to control minds. After executing each step of the plan, I’ll tell you the next step, proceeding cautiously.”

Iyas crossed his arms, pondering and said: ”So, are you calculating that we two might be controlled within it?

If we are controlled, the mastermind in the dark can only interfere with part of the plan, not the overall plan?”

Yang Yu didn’t deny it: ”If interfered, I have means to remedy it, or adopt another plan if necessary.

As long as I’m not controlled, they won’t know all my plans.

I would really like to configure the non-controlling potion for each of you, but as Tico just mentioned...

The ingredients for preparing those spiritual defense medicines are extremely precious.

Currently, it’s unknown if the mastermind will monopolize certain ingredients to prevent the preparation of spiritual defense medicines...

Common ingredients are not a concern, but for the precious ones, I might have to go personally.

I don’t know how many ingredients can be collected; perhaps making one bottle will be the limit.

You two must be ready to be charmed at any time.

Don’t worry too much; as long as I’m not controlled, I’ll be the first to save you.”

Recalling the memory of infiltrating the Silver Orchid Commerce, Bai Jin nodded:

”I’ve experienced enchantment firsthand, the things I said then still embarrass me now.

If it’s a general enchantment status, ordinary universal medicine can dissolve it.

To avoid attracting attention, obvious magical protection can’t be used, right?

Rather than exposing us to the enemy’s sight, you’re still more worried about our true identities being exposed to the Luo Ze Empire.”

”Exposed to the Luo Ze Empire, what awaits us is a national manhunt, it must be done gradually.” Yang Yu patted Bai Jin’s head, chuckled: ”When the time comes, even if I have to force it, I’ll ensure the potion is in your mouths.

There’s no more to say.

The first step of the plan is to collect ingredients, prepare potions.

We must return to our origin, become regular adventurers, while doing tasks, we’ll gather those ingredients simultaneously.

How long it will take, I don’t know.

First, see what ingredients on the recipe can be obtained from pharmacies.

Did you remember everything I said?”

Bai Jin and Iyas nodded with no further questions.

Subsequently, Yang Yu’s gaze fell on the dazing He Meng, and he said:

”He Meng, your identity is quite special, it absolutely cannot be exposed.

When your transformation is about to end, find somewhere secluded to revert to slime and rest.

Sometimes, tasks may require you to act alone, I’ll inform you separately when needed.

To avoid identity exposure, I plan to call you and Lotcar by half of your names.

You are Meng, Lotcar is Carl.

Remember, don’t fail to react when I call you.”

He Meng patted his chest, making a promise:

”Of course, I remember. Also, remember what I told you before, before asking for favors, you must abide by the rules.

Let’s let previous matters go because we’re partners, that’s why I’m letting it go.

It’s definitely not because you gave me so much clover, that’s why I compromised.”

”Hearing you say that, there’s one more thing that requires your attention.”

Yang Yu took out the pre-planted clover from the system, He Meng’s eyes sparkled instantly, bouncing to Yang Yu’s side, and devoured the clover in one bite, chewing it enjoyably.

”He Meng, you need to pay attention to the eating issue.

If you lose control whenever you see clover, and start chomping on grass roadside, your identity will be exposed sooner or later.

When you’re about to lose control, remember what I’m telling you now.

——’If you rush at clover without thinking, I won’t plant clover for you to eat for a whole month.’

Also, common human knowledge must be taught to you, especially dining etiquette.”

He Meng licked his lips, still savoring, Yang Yu’s plump clover was not comparable to ordinary roadside clover.

”Don’t underestimate me. My endurance surpasses the ordinary. Not just a month; if I rush at roadside clover, you won’t need to provide me clover for half a year. In exchange for diligently fulfilling responsibilities, you need to give me a sufficient amount of clover daily to satisfy my hunger.”

Yang Yu again produced a piece of clover, He Meng’s eyes sparkled once more, the clover swayed before He Meng’s eyes, then got stored back in Yang Yu’s system.

”I hope you’re not just making promises verbally, but show me in actual actions.”

He Meng sulked a bit, pouting: ”Saying it once is enough. I’ll remember it completely.”

With He Meng’s promise, Yang Yu then packed all his belongings into the system.
