Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

After discussing with Chilom, Yang Yu divided the team into two parts.

Iyas and He Meng formed one group, responsible for following Chilom’s commands.

Iyas mastered a method to dispel Charm, making them a key figure in the plan.

To prevent being charmed, Iyas cast a Dispel Technique on themselves that refreshes their status periodically.

This Dispel Technique also has the effect of forcibly refreshing if one attempts to dispel it.

Although it can’t completely prevent Charm, it can make the Charm effect not linger on them.

After organizing the groups, Yang Yu repeatedly reminded Iyas and He Meng to stay in crowded areas, not be too far from Chilom, and if they sensed any charm on themselves, to immediately consult Mr. Chilom.

Iyas nodded in agreement.

The remaining Lotcar and Bai Jin went to the battlefield with Yang Yu.

Bai Jin was responsible for combat and communication, ensuring both plans progressed simultaneously.

Lotcar provided crucial mobility, and as they rushed into action, who knew if an old demon lay waiting in the shadows; if overwhelmed, they could always retreat early.

Having arranged everyone’s tasks, Yang Yu declined all correspondence, quietly awaiting departure.

The day of deployment didn’t keep Yang Yu waiting long.

The Beastmen Army suddenly launched a fierce attack one day, breaking through several passes along the Beidong River, advancing rapidly.

If there was no way to stop them and they opened a path, it would mark the prelude to the Luo Ze Empire’s defense collapse.

The high ranks of the Luo Ze Empire immediately decided to mobilize several nearby troops, and with the newly recruited soldiers, to intercept them.

After a simple mobilization meeting, Yang Yu and his group headed straight to the battlefield.

Yang Yu only received a temporary force of about three hundred men.

To obtain more resources from Chilom, the Luo Ze Empire offered Yang Yu the position of Vice General as an exchange.

Much of Luo Ze’s leadership actually had little faith in Yang Yu’s military prowess; after deliberation, they decided to integrate some trustworthy officers as crucial observers within Yang Yu’s unit to prevent any mishaps.

The main forces would only be complete upon reaching the battlefield, which didn’t bother Yang Yu.

Although Iyas and He Meng weren’t present, the mobile gun composed of Lotcar and Bai Jin sufficed.

Yang Yu didn’t disregard the Luo Ze’s new recruits due to their lack of strength; instead, he amiably instructed them in individual combat techniques, similar to teaching Beastmen.

Beyond his own troops, Yang also rallied soldiers around him with the slogan ”Defeat the Beastmen, protect the nation”, vigorously harvesting their experience and favorability.

However, Yang Yu’s level was too high; the experience gained from the Luo Ze Empire’s new recruits wasn’t enough to fill the gaps, only leveling up halfway.

Well, something is better than nothing.

Yang Yu never complained about a lack of experience.

As they got closer to the battlefield, Yang Yu’s team passed the western side of the Nuokeqi Forest.

The Wansheng Republic had long set up an ambush within this forest.

Lotcar’s ears perked, capturing unusual sounds in the forest, letting out a long howl.

The Luo Ze Empire’s troops instantly became alert; immediately, waves of arrows and magic rained down from the sky, attacking the Luo Ze recruits from all directions.

Yang Yu and the leading Grand General issued orders: ”Don’t panic, Mage Troop, prepare for defense; the rest of the troops, get ready for battle instantly.”

The Luo Ze Empire’s Magic Troop, well-trained, quickly erected a barrier, bouncing off all incoming magic and arrows.

The Luo Ze recruits watched the surroundings vigilantly.

However, the Beastmen didn’t roar and charge towards the recruit units but instead remained stealthily hidden within the forest.

Seeing the Beastmen not attacking, the Grand General in command ordered the troops to advance.

Not far into the march, another wave of ranged attacks hit the new units, forcing them to halt again to defend.

This tactic was precisely the guerrilla warfare Yang Yu had taught the Beastmen Army.

The Beastmen had long taken the forest’s edge, infiltrating the Luo Ze Empire along the forest.

Now, it’s the Wansheng Republic’s surprise troops ambushing the Luo Ze recruits.

——Advance if the enemy retreats, pursue if the enemy retreats, harass if the enemy rests.

Many Beastmen Army units mastered the principles of guerrilla warfare.

The human troops needed to quickly halt the Beastmen Army’s direct advance, but they definitely had to pass through the western part of the Nuokeqi Forest.

The dense forest was the ideal terrain for guerrilla tactics to be most effective.

The Beastmen Army intended to use this forest to delay the recruits and the frontline troops’ joining.

The Beastmen’s surprise troops, capable of defeating even the regular Luo Ze military, were confident against these fresh recruits.

Forced to alternately advance and halt, the Luo Ze Grand General was mentally and physically exhausted by the Beastmen Army’s antics.

Against such tactics, the best method was not to divide forces, work together through the forest.

But the Beastmen’s harassment was too frequent.

If the Beastmen maintained such a harassment frequency, it would greatly disrupt their forward speed, causing unmeasurable consequences.

After much deliberation, the Grand General leading the recruits consulted Yang Yu, whose official rank was much higher than his.

Yang Yu offered a simple solution.

Guerrilla warfare requires soldiers with exceptionally strong individual capabilities; the Beastmen, with superior reconnaissance and counter-reconnaissance skills in intelligence gathering, far outperformed humans, playing them for fools.

To break this situation, more powerful individuals must be deployed to swiftly defeat them with overwhelming power.

The Grand General asked: ”But didn’t you just say?

Beastmen’s perception ability is extraordinary, as soon as we approach, they’ll flee.

Deployed individuals would only be toyed with, eventually falling into traps.”

”Deploy individuals strong enough to overpower most of them. The Beastmen are perceptive, and the Magic Beast I contracted with is no slouch either.

You stay here and defend, don’t move; I’ll be back soon.

If I’m not back in three hours, depart, we’ll catch up with your group.”

The Grand General had reservations but eventually agreed to Yang Yu’s proposal.

After all, it was Yang Yu himself who suggested actively entering the fray; if any situation arose, it wouldn’t be their responsibility.

The Luo Ze recruits advanced once more. As the Wansheng Republic troops attacked again, Yang Yu darted out swiftly towards the direction with the densest attacks, like a thunderbolt.

Leaping from Lotcar’s back, Yang Yu utilized [Climbing] to deftly maneuver between branches, sweeping his gaze over the forest, using his panel to spot Beastmen in camouflage hiding among the trees.

Then, with incredible speed, Yang Yu severely injured several Beastman Mages or Archers responsible for the harassment.
