Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

The words ”Dimensional Infection” suddenly blurted out from Chen Ming’s mouth caused the expression of the local Star Realm Anti-Cult Bureau Deputy Director, who wore a pair of half-frame glasses and initially had a somewhat displeased face, to immediately change, and subconsciously he felt a shock.

He just happened to have heard this term during a recent regular work report meeting held by their Audan Star Realm Government.

Although it was said to be a regular work report meeting, this meeting could completely be considered convened specifically for the Dimensional Infection issue.

Because not long ago, the propaganda regarding the Empire’s recent outbreak of the newborn deformity wave was framed as an unknown infectious disease.

As a government official, the Deputy Director had heard that the situation was more complex and terrifying, but he was part of the Anti-Cult Bureau, not the Population Bureau or the Health Department, so he didn’t pay much attention.

During this meeting, the Empire essentially clearly defined the concept of Dimensional Infection, confirming its relation to the newborn deformity wave.

Moreover, the event of deformity waves caused by the last Dimensional Infection, sealed decades ago and unknown to him, was brought up during this meeting.

The excuse that the previous cloning ban was issued due to ethical reasons was even directly negated at this meeting, openly stating that the ban was due to the Dimensional Infection incident potentially caused by clones.

He noticed at the time that many older officials or those who had undergone prolonged hibernation were not surprised upon hearing this news.

Only relatively younger people like him who hadn’t hibernated were somewhat shocked upon learning this news.

Since their Star Realm Government brought this matter to the open during their meeting, it was undoubtedly under the Empire’s directive, with a very clear stance.

There had to be measures to resolve this Dimensional Infection, to prevent and eradicate it at the early stages of its occurrence.

Besides their Star Realm Government holding such a meeting, other Star Realms would surely take similar actions, completely openly revealing Dimensional Infection.

Soon, there should be some hearsay spreading throughout the Empire.

According to the meaning of this meeting, Dimensional Infection could likely remain an ongoing condition within the Empire for a long time to come.

Therefore, during meetings, the government’s heads requested all departments to immediately contact the Spiritual Ability Department if any signs related to Dimensional Infection are discovered and cooperate to maintain confidentiality.

Just the details of the meeting had already left the Deputy Director with a profound impression of the Dimensional Infection issue.

A few days after the last meeting.

The head suddenly privately brought the Minister of Spiritual Ability from their Star Realm, whom he had met several times, specifically to the Anti-Cult Bureau and had a discussion about Zuo Jing and the Dimensional Infection with the deputy director and director.

Since then, the notion of Dimensional Infection and the massive trouble brought by Zuo Jing couldn’t leave his mind.

So at that moment, the Deputy Director directly covered the terminal’s receiver with his hand, gesturing to the others in the room to say: ”Everyone, leave, and tell someone to seal this recording in my hands, only allowing me and the director to access it.”

The others immediately complied, leaving the operator’s workspace.

The Deputy Director then released the receiver to speak to Chen Ming: ”Unrelated personnel are no longer here, please speak.”

”It seems you probably know about Dimensional Infection, so I’ll be direct.”

”Your Audan-5 Star Zone, Tal Star System, there is an Ecological Observation Space Station where a Dimensional Infection event has broken out.”

”Additionally, this Space Station is closely associated with Zuo Jing’s cloning research on the Space Station leading to a small-scale Dimensional Infection. You should find some interesting information.”

Upon hearing the name of this star system, the Deputy Director manually searched on the terminal.

Soon, he saw information about a normally quiet space station, and coincidentally discovered that Ye Lirong, the local Star Zone Level Minister of the Cultural and Tourism Department, had visited this Space Station.

This discovery surprised him and left him silent.

Because he still somewhat believed the words of the stranger on the phone.

The Deputy Director couldn’t directly confirm the Dimensional Infection from Chen Ming’s words, but Chen Ming indeed demonstrated some ability now.

And he accurately stated that the Dimensional Infection stemmed from clones and had a close relationship with Zuo Jing.

These two points practically allowed him to choose to believe Chen Ming.

Because of this, he felt a bit uneasy upon learning of the suspected connection between a minister from a subordinate department of the lower government and Zuo Jing.

Not due to Chen Ming’s revelation, but because as an Anti-Cult Bureau Deputy Director, he was uneasy hearing about a fellow official being involved with such a cult as Zuo Jing.

However, he didn’t directly point this out now, only asked: ”Has Dimensional Infection been confirmed to have broken out?”

Chen Ming’s mind flashed with the content seen in the database.

Currently known targets of Dimensional Infection are clone’s stomachs, and the abnormalities began appearing a week ago.

This indicated that Dimensional Infection had occurred a week ago, but since large-scale abnormalities hadn’t arisen, Zuo Jing surely had control over the Dimensional Infection, meaning it hadn’t actually broken out.
