Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

”But I’m curious, what kind of spiritual energy effect does your hamster have? Is it a physical enhancement type?”

”If it is, then maybe it can add some new content to the research on dimensional infection.”

Chen Ming subconsciously tried to recall his days spent with Little Stone, but he really couldn’t come up with anything.

”Well... I honestly don’t know. It usually just eats and sleeps, then sleeps and eats, the spiritual energy fluctuation is always stable, it seems it’s never used its spiritual energy.”

”But it shouldn’t be the physical enhancement type of spiritual energy.”

Chen Ming, not using his main self on the call with the president, casually grabbed Little Stone, who was wandering on his work desk, and pinched it a few times. The texture felt as good as ever.

It didn’t feel like the hardening sensation in his muscles when Chen Ming used the spiritual energy of the Insect Queen.

Although Little Stone had once jumped from a height of over twenty meters, based on his later understanding of the species of hamsters like Little Stone.

Little Stone, after all, is a pet mouse cultivated by the Fanchao Lab, so its physical strength is quite high.

So even if Little Stone has the strength to jump from a height of over twenty meters unscathed, it doesn’t demonstrate that Little Stone has characteristics of becoming stronger through spiritual energy.

Rather, Little Stone seems unchanged from its non-spiritual-creature state to now.

The president wasn’t bothered by Chen Ming’s answer, just felt it was a pity.

”Alright then, let’s not get off-topic, back to the previous discussion.”

”We’ve both been marked, so we absolutely cannot personally get involved in this matter, the field investigation must be handled by others.”

”I’ll discuss the plan with Wu An later, Wu An is convenient for both you and me to contact; you can quickly know the progress of the investigation, you must know the process.”

”I must know?”

The president’s tone became serious: ”You are now one of the Empire’s only two known experiencers of dimensional infection, you also have the responsibility to handle dimensional infection.”

”I’m not forcing you; I just want you to understand that the severity of dimensional infection is not limited to what you’ve seen before.”

”If Zuo Jing truly has the ability to create dimensional infections and allow people to survive through them, then the Empire will face a catastrophic disaster.”

”Even the entire universe could be marked by another dimensional presence, transforming into planets composed of flesh.”

”The severity of this matter will affect the entire universe; it’s not an issue that can be resolved by simply running away.”

”As the president of the Spiritual Ability Association, no one has ever forced me, it’s my own voluntary choice to take on such responsibilities because I know if I don’t do it, no one else will, but you are different.”

”So now I’m just suggesting, hoping you can consider it seriously.”

The president’s words were a bit ominous, but Chen Ming did not resist them.

From that previous time onwards, Chen Ming’s thoughts have been changing, and now he has completely realized that he cannot survive in an environment devoid of people.

Even if not for the sake of protecting the Empire, he must contribute to the dimensional infection for the sake of protecting humanity.

This is also the reason why Chen Ming immediately chose to contact the president when he encountered Lou Wei’s suspected dimensional infection situation.

So now, Chen Ming straightforwardly responded to the president: ”I will.”

”But I have a question, will dimensional infection truly affect the entire universe? It’s said that another civilization has had similar situations, and it’s suspected that their extinction is related to dimensional infection, but we haven’t seen traces of dimensional infection before.”

The president was pleased with Chen Ming’s response and continued to patiently explain to him: ”The cause of a civilization’s extinction is only speculation, currently it cannot be confirmed whether another civilization has been wiped out by dimensional infection, even very likely not.”

”Because if you let dimensional infection develop freely, the infected will spontaneously begin expanding to other star systems.”

”I once saw with my own eyes how those infected eyes assimilated a planet, and how an entire star system turned into a flesh hell.”

”They absolutely won’t stay on one planet not moving.”

”Of course, it is also possible that dimensional infection did wipe out that civilization, just that it withdrew later.”

”But there’s too much to say about this, without evidence, it’s all empty talk.”

After learning about the president’s plan, Chen Ming continued to chat with him for a while before ending the communication and setting down the terminal.

However, at this time in a certain star system within the Empire, at a certain research institution, the president did not set down the terminal but continued contacting other people.

He is now the main force in the dimensional infection investigation, he must treat this matter with importance.

Since he has chosen to trust Chen Ming’s feelings, he must trust fully, otherwise, there’s no point in believing.

If someone like Chen Ming, a direct experiencer of dimensional infection, says there’s a similar situation occurring, and even has relevant spiritual energy sensations, even if the final result proves wrong, he must investigate before concluding.

After chatting with Wu An, the president just found another suitable person in the communication list, preparing to call.

He suddenly received an incoming call.

The communication code shows it’s He Gu.
