Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chen Ming didn’t say anything, his somewhat fierce-looking face showing a hint of confusion.

”You might not know, this is written in the ’Imperial Distress Signal Rights and Obligations Manual,’”

Of course, Chen Ming knew this, it means that the person who sends out the distress signal and is rescued must proactively assist the rescue team to some extent, in other words, cooperate.

When conditions allow, help the rescue personnel providing rescue assistance, which amounts to having the rescued person help save their own people.

Although this rule is almost nonexistent, since you’re asking for help, it’s unlikely anyone has the means to assist.

But Chen Ming was actually in quite good shape now, and there was no one who needed help, but the obligations manual indeed stated so.

So Uncle Mao conveniently pushed Chen Ming into his seat, asking him to help take a look at the distress signal equipment.

Chen Ming glanced at the equipment in front of him, then turned his fierce face back.

”Do I look easy to deal with?”

Uncle Mao looked a bit embarrassed, saying, ”Being easy to deal with doesn’t depend on appearances, it depends on other things... please.”

After saying this, he forcefully patted Chen Ming’s shoulder, and after the pat, he didn’t remove his hand, suggesting it wouldn’t move unless he agreed.

Chen Ming immediately reached out and grabbed Uncle Mao’s hand, flinging it away, revealing a look of extreme disgust.

He stared at Uncle Mao’s face with some confusion.

But the confused expression quickly disappeared.

Upon careful thought, this is a distress signal management department after all, the equipment here seems like it could be used.

Thus, Chen Ming didn’t refuse in the end, merely stuffed the hand that had just flung Uncle Mao’s hand into his pocket and took out a tissue to wipe.

”What to do?”

”This device automatically alerts upon receiving a distress signal. Once alerted, just send out the communication signal, leave the rest to me.”

In other words, this device actually doesn’t need anyone to watch over it, just answer the call when someone is in distress.

Uncle Mao patted Chen Ming’s shoulder again, saying: ”Gotta put on a show, you know.”

”Okay.”

Chen Ming sat upright at Uncle Mao’s original workstation, holding the manual Uncle Mao had just stuffed into his hand, solemnly pretending to check the equipment usage.

Then, he heard from behind in the office, several employees immediately pulled out some coins and cards from their pockets.

The entire office suddenly became noisy.

Each of them were shouting over the abruptly paused card game.

”...”

Now Chen Ming understood why everyone in the office was staring at him when he came in.

No matter, they play their game, Chen Ming still intends to first make use of the distress signal management office’s equipment.

The equipment here has commendable reception and transmission capabilities, perfectly suitable for overclocking modification directly for signal jamming.

Of course, Chen Ming couldn’t directly use spiritual energy for the modification now, instead he had to use his own reduced technology to modify.

Then he would need to first understand the circuit layout.

Although the overall design of the Space Station had been altered, the style was certainly consistent, understanding a part of the Space Station equivalently meant understanding the whole Space Station.

Sealing off signals would be more convenient then.

Also, the spot in front of the work desk was quite nice, with his back turned to everyone, nobody would notice him.

Chen Ming quietly released a large amount of metal liquid from the palm resting on the instrument in front of him, infiltrating the Space Station’s structure along with the equipment’s setup, gradually spreading around.

The metal liquid also served as Chen Ming’s eyes.

Although it’s not his hands, unable to indirectly control like Dusk does, he can completely utilize this to see what’s on the Space Station.

However, Chen Ming’s metal liquid had scarcely spread far.

The metal liquid was suddenly blocked.

A very thin metal film made of Silent Alloy was obstructing between every Space Station module.

Silent Alloy is a kind of Spiritual Metal that Chen Ming’s spiritual energy can’t control.

To be precise, it’s not Spiritual Metal, but rather a metal material that blocks spiritual energy, and is also the material used to make the case where Chen Ming usually places the Portable Mental Fluctuation Generator.

This really forced Chen Ming to suspect Zuo Jing was targeting him.

If he wants the metal liquid to pass through the partition film, he’d either have to break it or expose it to the surrounding environment.

Destroying the metal film is definitely suicidal behavior, Chen Ming had already seen some sensor circuits mixed inside the metal film.

Once the metal film is broken, alarms would immediately sound throughout the Space Station.

And the external environment is entirely monitored, even the outside of the Space Station is the same, it’s impossible to fix this without being exposed in the environment.

Chen Ming searched for a long time, unable to find any blind spots around the Space Station module he was currently in.

This... is quite troublesome.

At this moment.

Suddenly, Chen Ming heard someone calling him from behind.

”Hey, young man over there, missing one for cards, wanna join? Can you play?”
