Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Even if it might not completely expose the relative coordinates between the Empire and that other dimension, it will definitely have an impact; the most obvious one is that it may prolong the duration of the aftereffects.

So right now, Chen Ming had no objections at all.

When the president said this, he suddenly remembered some things he had once discussed with Chen Ming, and said, ”Also, I’ve now completely figured out how that dimension determines the coordinates for us—I mean you and me, the two of us—how it fixes our positions.”

”How?”

”It’s us ourselves. Strictly speaking, you were the first one to提出 this coordinate-positioning concept.”

Chen Ming immediately said, ”I only said that because I had that kind of vague feeling at the time. I definitely didn’t understand the exact mechanism. And didn’t you later refine that concept, President?”

”Let me put it this way: I’d actually already had a similar idea before, just not as concrete as yours.”

”You were the one who stated it concretely, and what you said was correct, so I merged my thoughts into yours, and only then did we complete that concept.”

”That’s why I can be sure that the way the other dimension fixes on us lies in ourselves—on us as individuals.”

Chen Ming asked again, ”So how exactly is it fixed?”

A hint of reminiscence flashed in the president’s eyes as he said, ”During the infection two times ago, I was temporarily trapped on the Planet where the dimensional infection broke out. With nothing else to do, I ran some experiments.”

”I won’t go into too many details, but I can confirm that only the body of yours that has gone through a dimensional infection is what gets locked on to.”

”The existence in the other dimension uses a special something to mark us, something that we can’t observe by naked eye, Spiritual Power, or any other means.”

”We don’t know what it actually is—maybe something like a pheromone. It’s by relying on this thing that they can determine our position.”

”As long as bodies that have been infected with this pheromone-like marker don’t come into contact, then overall there won’t be an impact.”

Somewhat puzzled, Chen Ming asked, ”What gets marked is our body? Not our consciousness or Spiritual Energy or something like that?”

”Think about what I told you before.”

Chen Ming immediately recalled a few of the president’s past conversations, but couldn’t find anything that matched this topic.

But when Chen Ming recalled the very first time he met the president, there was one sentence the president had said back then.

Psychics have resistance to infection from the existence in the other dimension; the consciousness of a Psychic will resist infection from that other dimension.

Obviously, the consciousness of a Psychic absolutely cannot become a target for marking by the existence from the other dimension. The body, however, is a different story.

Unless a Psychic can maintain Spiritual Power in complete protection of their body throughout the entire process of a dimensional infection, the slightest lapse will result in being marked.

The body does not instinctively resist invasion from another dimension.

After all, for a human, consciousness is fundamental; without consciousness, the body is just an empty shell.

The same holds for Psychics—people who influence reality through their own consciousness; for them, consciousness is even more crucial.

Unless it’s a Psychic who specializes in strengthening the body, only then does the body become somewhat more important—for example, Yan Xiong...

But so far, no clearly body-enhancement-type Psychic has gone through a dimensional infection, so whether dimensional infection can mark that kind of Psychic is still purely theoretical.

Following along the president’s line of thought, a flood of ideas flashed through Chen Ming’s mind.

After he voiced those ideas, the president gave Chen Ming a definite confirmation.
