Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

After Chen Ming granted Bai Quan and He Gu access, the two immediately contacted the necessary people.

Similarly, upon returning to his own room, Chen Ming picked up the terminal.

Dimensional infection is of great importance, and he must ask the person who understands this matter clearly.

After finding the chairman’s communication code in the address book, Chen Ming directly dialed it.

The chairman answered the call not long after, greeting, ”Chen Ming, it’s been a while. I heard you’ve joined the Fourteenth Legion recently? Have you met Shao Yang?”

”I met him once, but he’s over at the main headquarters, and I’m here at the Gallo Star Realm branch, so I’ve only met him once, although we still keep in touch.”

”I see. So is there something you need from me today?”

”That’s right.”

Chen Ming explained the situation he encountered today to the chairman, while keeping the identities of those involved in the incident today hidden, as Lou Wei, the former Major General, was the one who died.

Someone like him dying wouldn’t be good news wherever it spread.

However, if the chairman really wanted to know, it wouldn’t be difficult.

The gamble agreement just ended today, and right after someone was investigated for having a connection to Zuo Jing and an attempt to assassinate Chen Ming, someone else was found connected to Zuo Jing and attempted to disrupt the agreement, leading to a death.

A quick look reveals who the deceased person is.

Thus, Chen Ming’s actions are just justifying his current imposter identity.

However, honestly speaking about today’s events, even Chen Ming himself feels that just hearing it doesn’t seem related to dimensional infection.

As dimensional infection isn’t just simple flesh and blood tissue, but involves more complex situations.

Yet what Chen Ming sensed the moment Lou Wei exploded was indeed the feeling brought by dimensional infection, and Lou Wei’s death was caused by the indirect influence of dimensional infection aftermath.

However, Chen Ming couldn’t directly say he felt that way, and could only awkwardly recount the entire process.

He focused on the points he suspected that were interconnected.

The chairman didn’t dismiss Chen Ming’s suspicion of dimensional infection based on seemingly related reasons, instead listening intently to Chen Ming’s account.

After Chen Ming finished speaking, the chairman confirmed, ”So you mean you believe someone’s death over there is indirectly influenced by a situation similar to dimensional infection?”

”Yes.”

”Hmm... Although I’ve previously told you that the timing and location of the eruption of dimensional infection aftereffects have some issues.”

”Dimensional infection has actually only happened twice, one of which was over at Dusk, and you’ve only acquired limited information from there, the samples are really insufficient.”

Seeing the chairman didn’t seem to directly believe it, Chen Ming again added, ”I feel it’s just too coincidental.”

”Last time, the dimensional infection aftereffects indeed spread outwards from the point of dimensional infection eruption, logically this time should’ve started from the Gallo Star Realm earliest.”

”But I have been watching the news recently, and while many Star Realms inside the Empire have started exhibiting birth defects, Gallo Star Realm remained quiet.”

”Not until recently did Gallo Star Realm start exhibiting similar situations like the other Star Realms.”

”Even if the Empire is deliberately suppressing similar news, I am certain it’s not due to the Empire’s news blockade that the outbreak aftereffects in Gallo Star Realm seemed delayed; it’s indeed a fact.”

The chairman spoke to Chen Ming in a gentle and patient tone, ”I know what you’re saying.”

”But what was summarized from the first occurrence statistically doesn’t count as a pattern; it’s more likely random unless more samples are acquired.”

Though the rules summarized from the first dimensional infection were by the chairman, speaking to Chen Ming about it, the chairman instead denied his own idea.

After all, issues like dimensional infection are definitely not trivial, and cannot be determined solely by suspicion.

Concrete evidence must be gathered before it can be placed appropriately.

Though he says this, he will still investigate according to Chen Ming’s words, but without evidence, he cannot elevate Chen Ming’s suspicion to the level of actual dimensional infection occurrence.

Doing so might waste the already scarce human resources in his dimensional infection research.

At least some evidence proving the occurrence of dimensional infection must be awaited before investing more.

So now the chairman chose to comfort Chen Ming, ”I can understand your concern.”

”Previously, after experiencing dimensional infection myself, I too would immediately suspect dimensional infection seeing anything similar, but later found many things I suspected were actually very normal, with no relation at all to dimensional infection.”

”Whether the death over there is related to dimensional infection isn’t clear solely from your words. I will consider it further.”

”Or you could provide more substantial reasons, tell me how you came to think of this?”

After a moment of silence, Chen Ming genuinely wanted to use normal justification for others to logically relate to dimensional infection.

But at this moment, facing the chairman whom he knows for a while, Chen Ming opted for honesty and said, ”A feeling.”
