Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

The Space Station isn’t exactly small, but Chen Ming is controlling An Wuping, who could overpower the Space Station on his own even if transformed, within a short period.

Attempting to do so and safely preserving some information from the Space Station would be extremely troublesome. Forcefully using Spiritual Energy to prevent data deletion would be more likely to expose the connection between An Wuping and Chen Ming.

It’s quite a headache.

If Chen Ming’s purpose this time was merely to destroy Zuo Jing’s Space Station, he could have started taking action earlier.

But he is here to gather more clues about Zuo Jing, so he can’t proceed that way.

He needs to be fully prepared before taking action, at least first understanding the general situation of the Space Station.

Luckily, his spacecraft maintenance is estimated to need another week, considering how thoroughly damaged it is.

He still has time.

Coincidentally, there’s a ”big shot” on the Space Station now, who probably knows a lot of information.

Perhaps he can find a way to act through him.

While Chen Ming was pondering the next steps, Uncle Mao suddenly appeared beside him and said, ”Hey, An Wuping, someone specifically asked me to tell you not to run around the Space Station these days.”

”We’ve saved you, so you should show us some respect, right?”

The Space Station indeed only has the obligation to rescue; as long as people are saved, it’s perfectly fine to call a tugboat for Chen Ming and drag him to the nearest colony.

Uncle Mao is willing to offer Chen Ming a choice, possibly to earn some money, but there’s no doubt about it.

But someone specifically asked Uncle Mao to explain?

Why did Uncle Mao need to mention this specifically instead of directly saying it?

Chen Ming was a bit perplexed, but the character he played, An Wuping, didn’t resist, saying, ”I’ll leave once the spacecraft is repaired.”

Although he agreed and said so, the actual actions would depend on future developments.

Moreover, when Uncle Mao mentioned that someone had specifically instructed him, Chen Ming sensed there might be an issue.

Thus, he simply used Spiritual Energy to call upon the surveillance system of the maintenance station of the Space Station that he controlled.

The image of the person who just came to deliver the message appeared before him instantly.

The Space Station’s managing personnel, Chen Ming had some impression; just around that government official.

That government official had already noticed him.

And that government official’s identity, through the local public government website, was easily identified by Chen Ming as Ye Lirong, the Minister of Culture and Tourism at the Star Zone Level.

The reason for this visit, there was conveniently an announcement on the government website that explained it.

It said to develop the Star Zone’s tourism industry, to enable some backward Star Systems to develop, thus collaborating with this ecological observation Space Station for on-site investigation.

Sounds perfectly reasonable, clearing out idle individuals like An Wuping also makes sense.

Everything seems normal, but once this Space Station is linked with Zuo Jing, nothing is normal anymore.

Even if Chen Ming knows who arranged this, he still hasn’t taken any action.

Anyway, the spacecraft maintenance still needs a week; there’s no rush.

The investigation into Zuo Jing and Dimensional Infection from the President’s side won’t yield results within a week either.

Zuo Jing remained hidden for so long, until Lou Wei’s accidental death made Chen Ming find some clues; this matter can’t be resolved simply.

Moreover, Chen Ming came here wearing An Wuping’s identity to hide his own identity, conceal the connection between An Wuping and Chen Ming.

Many small actions related to Spiritual Energy must wait until everything is thoroughly safe and undetected before they can be executed.

Chen Ming soon agreed with Uncle Mao, but Uncle Mao didn’t leave.

Instead, he waited until nearly all the material costs were paid by Chen Ming, then beckoned Chen Ming and said, ”Come, let me show you the places you can go in the next few days.”

”Originally, this Space Station isn’t open to the public, but since we rescued you, we’ll arrange some places for you to visit.”

”Alright.”

Chen Ming agreed again, showing no special reaction.

Uncle Mao then took Chen Ming to three places.

The dining area, a small cafeteria, seemingly dedicated to personnel working in the peripheral regions, ordinary employees seemingly have to pay to eat there.

The lodging area, a simple shared dormitory, four people per room, not too crowded.

And the working area, specifically for receiving distress signals from the Space Station.

The place had a sign outside saying ’Distress Signal Management Office.’

Opening the door, he saw apart from Uncle Mao, there were six or seven people there, all aged between forty and fifty, all gathered around two desks in the office.

Each one of them focused their gaze on the entering Chen Ming and Uncle Mao.

Uncle Mao tried to reach Chen Ming’s shoulder, but not managing, he patted Chen Ming’s back instead, saying, ”It’s alright, this guy was just rescued by the distress signal, mind your own business.”

He explained briefly, half pushing Chen Ming to the workstation, seating him down.

Certainly, Chen Ming didn’t resist; otherwise, Uncle Mao wouldn’t have been able to push him.

However, arriving here, Chen Ming couldn’t help but ask, ”What am I here for?”

Uncle Mao recited like a lesson: ”While enjoying rights, under permissible conditions, the rights holder must also bear some obligations of enjoying those rights.”
