Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

At this moment, the metal liquid continues to expand around the colony, engulfing those abandoned residential areas.

Upon seeing the people being forcibly taken away from the residential areas by the metal liquid, but not sent near the location currently dealing with Zuo Jing.

Someone from the government and military immediately came over to inquire about the situation.

After all, Chen Ming clearly intends to completely destroy the residential area, rather than bypass it and expand into new industrial zones outside the residential area.

If these people are displaced, it would undoubtedly be bad news for the government.

Forcing ordinary citizens to do such things by Chen Ming, a Psychic, is also not good news for the military.

However, Chen Ming evidently has thoughts behind his actions.

He plans to collect all the surplus materials obtained from the destruction of the residential area and use them in the new residential areas he arranges for those who will continue to stay on the Planet after the colony’s expansion is completed.

Of course, Chen Ming has also preserved everything inside each person’s residence.

In any case, he now has Brilliant and several other idle Alpha Cores to act as external brains, recording and wrapping everything in each person’s home in metal liquid is no trouble.

Some fragile items may be difficult to transport or could be damaged during transportation by the metal liquid.

But Chen Ming can provide partial compensation for those items later, and anyway, the government likely wouldn’t mind footing this bill for him.

Once the new residential areas are constructed, these residents who suddenly lost their original homes will all be moved into new big houses by Chen Ming.

After all, the abandoned residential area is so large, full of materials and space, and he doesn’t mind giving more room to the people working here, even if he distributes a set of three-bedroom apartments to each person, Chen Ming can still have lots of building materials left over.

Chen Ming does not believe anyone would be dissatisfied about exchanging their old houses, which are over twenty years old, for new, larger homes; it certainly doesn’t seem like a loss.

Uh...

As Chen Ming thought about this, he suddenly hesitated, because there really is such a possibility.

Some might have complaints about his forced relocation demands because they don’t want to leave their old homes.

But others might be driven by greed, as he is well aware of the saying that human desires are insatiable like a snake swallowing an elephant.

Chen Ming will just ignore the former, being criticized privately is no big deal, a few harsh words won’t hurt him.

He doesn’t have the energy to handle these matters for each person or family individually, so all he can do is provide the same standard living conditions for everyone.

Chen Ming has learned about the original living conditions of the colony’s residential areas, and what he provides will certainly be better than before.

After being criticized for a period, things naturally come to an end.

But for the latter, if someone truly wants to be ungrateful, he doesn’t mind using some privilege to expel them.

Anyway, the government departments are worried about the stability of the colony being affected by a large-scale population outflow.

Whereas one or two, or even ten people’s issues, can’t stir any waves in the social environment.

He could do this, but generally, it’s unnecessary.

After confirming this idea

And explaining this idea clearly to those who came to inquire about the situation.

Chen Ming continued to unreservedly exert his Spiritual Energy over the entire colony.

Ultimately, he only plans to manage the remaining population on the colony now and does not intend to continue opening the colony to external people in the future...

Wait.

Chen Ming suddenly realized another issue, so he picked up the terminal and dialed Bai Quan’s number, asking, ”Is there any other requirement for the colony?”

Bai Quan found Chen Ming’s question a bit puzzling, and asked back, ”What do you mean?”

”Does my colony need to be open to outsiders and accept immigrants later?”

”Yes.”

”It really does, huh.”

This affirmative answer made Chen Ming feel a bit upset for a moment.

”This is a basic obligation for the colony, and you can look up these details on the official website.”

”Basically, you cannot explicitly prohibit anyone from entering your colony, and you need to provide equal treatment, such as job opportunities and living spaces, to all arriving Empire citizens.”

”Of course, you aren’t required to offer free provisions to immigrants like you must for current residents.”

”Essentially, the entire colony is yours, so you can offer these things to outsiders at reasonable prices.”

”This is one of the colony’s sources of income, so there’s no need to forcefully reject it.”

Bai Quan explained to Chen Ming, and further suggested, ”If you really don’t want people, you can set very stringent screening standards for entering. Eliminate those you don’t need.”

”The colony owner can still set requirements on these aspects, so it’s not like any undesirables can come and go freely on the colony.”

”But general colonies only conduct simple identity checks, which is why there are many things like Zuo Jing, which you don’t need to do.”

”However, my advice is not to make the criteria too high, just at the level that screens out ordinary people but allows good individuals to stay.”

”Don’t you have an Extraordinary Laboratory? You could conveniently establish a branch on this colony and use it as a reason to raise standards.”
