Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

”How did he get here?”

Bai Quan raised the terminal, which displayed a person’s identity record.

”A researcher from an agency we collaborate with, who had voluntarily applied to come to the Gallo Star Realm, was replaced by him. Other than the photograph looking similar to him, all other information is fake.”

”I’ll ensure stricter management in this area so that it won’t happen again next time.”

It turned out Hu Yi had come to the Fourteenth Legion this way, no wonder Bai Quan said he was disgraceful.

Chen Ming glanced at the appearance of the person on the terminal, committing it to memory, and then said to Bai Quan, ”I have two questions.”

”Go ahead.”

”Why doesn’t Hu Yi directly create a volcano right under the dome’s center?”

Bai Quan pointed beneath his feet and said, ”Directly below the dome, there are passive detection devices that can track the direction of magma beneath.”

”If he creates a volcano directly beneath, it will be detected early. The time it takes for underground magma to accumulate is enough to evacuate everyone from the dome.”

”Distancing it a bit so the equipment can’t precisely detect it, until the volcano surfaces and is found out, is the best way to attack the dome.”

Chen Ming knew about the detection equipment when controlling the dome and was now just confirming with Bai Quan.

”Then why only four volcanoes? Someone like him, a Psychic who can hold off Wu Lao Ban’s Psychic, why only this extent?”

Bai Quan explained again, ”Because this is the Fourteenth Legion, Hu Yi can’t excessively use Spiritual Energy, or he’ll be discovered quickly.”

”We also have Psychics here, combat-type Psychics; if it gets serious, he can’t escape.”

”Moreover, if he caused large-scale casualties to our Legion, he’d be hunted massively by the entire Empire.”

”You know what our Fourteenth Legion is doing now.”

Chen Ming paused and said, ”But since you’ve said this, Hu Yi should have already fled.”

Bai Quan’s face darkened instantly and admitted, ”Yes, he brought another Psychic to assist him. When we found him, he fled directly, disappearing into a Black Mist.”

”Black Mist? What kind of Psychic?”

”Retreat couldn’t tell, it was definitely a Psychic who’d never been registered, a civilian Psychic.”

Psyshics aren’t all willing to be constrained by the Empire.

Everyone has diverse thoughts.

Some Psychics, willing to be governed by the Empire, have long voluntarily joined the government or military.

Others want to join forces for the benefits only obtainable by joining but don’t want to join the government or military, so they seek to join forces within the Empire.

For instance, various companies and research institutes welcome Psychics joining them.

Of course, some Psychics don’t want to participate in government, military, or internal company matters at all.

They can choose to join loose organizations like the Spiritual Ability Association.

Some don’t want to join anything.

The Empire doesn’t force these people either; as long as they register, they’re left alone, causing no trouble, and no one pays much attention.

Unless a Psychic like Chen Ming, whose Spiritual Energy abilities are unique and indispensable, would always draw the Empire’s attention.

There are also Psychics who thoroughly reject any control.

They remain hidden in certain places within the Empire, not exposed to anyone’s sight.

So it’s not impossible for a Psychic with near-teleportation abilities to suddenly appear.

Hu Yi is at least a veteran Psychic, and it’s not surprising for someone like this to appear in his network.

”So why has he come suddenly? Revenge? I haven’t even troubled him yet; he’s come seeking me?”

”I remember he was previously employed by the Battle Zone officials; I never directly faced him, only killed Yan Xiong. Was he on good terms with Yan Xiong?”

Bai Quan recalled and said, ”I’ve never heard of such a thing,”

”I slightly monitored Hu Yi for a while because of you.”

”After the last incident, someone from the Battle Zone’s top brass got in trouble; he shouldn’t have surfaced.”

”Moreover, I heard the original intent from above was not to care about Yan Xiong, after all, his relationship with the Battle Zone was essentially a hire.”

”All Hu Yi did was wander around the Star System, stop Wu An, and even your Association couldn’t pinpoint problems; after all, the move wasn’t from the Association.”

”This is a dispute among Psychics, and the Empire won’t intervene as long as it doesn’t affect other ordinary people.”

Chen Ming caught the keyword in Bai Quan’s words and said, ”Since you said it was supposed to be.”

”Yeah, later, I don’t know who put an insignificant bounty on him.”

”You don’t know who?”

”Right, can’t trace back,”

”Initially, you and he only had implicit conflict, but someone made it public.”

”And typical bounties like this are usually ignored, but Yan Xiong indeed disappeared after that incident.”

”Didn’t expect it to surface under such circumstances now.”

Chen Ming furrowed his brows and asked, ”Why do you think he’d act now? Offending me is one thing, he already did that long ago, but acting on your Fourteenth Legion’s turf, isn’t he courting death?”

”Maybe he thinks that now you’ve joined our Fourteenth Legion, there’ll be no chance in the future? He wants to strike before you receive full protection and before you grow, to eliminate you?”
