Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 696: Chapter 210 The Psychic’s Backdoor_3

He observed the situation around Chen Ming’s dome with the cautiousness one should have towards a Psychic, but there was also a curiosity about one thing.

Given that Chen Ming had the Purgatory Core in his possession, would he take any action?

The Purgatory Core and the volcanic planet were a perfect match. If Chen Ming had any results, there might be some commotion.

And today, when Bai Quan arrived at the satellite control center, he indeed discovered a bit of an unusual situation near Chen Ming’s dome.

”There really is.”

Bai Quan silently noted to himself, then had the on-duty personnel zoom in on the area around Chen Ming’s dome.

In a circular area near the dome, solidified magma was clearly visible, evidently an attempt by Chen Ming to use the Purgatory Core.

It seemed that Chen Ming’s research was about to yield results.

Bai Quan nodded slightly and prepared to leave.

However, just as he was about to return to his own tasks, the image on the satellite suddenly changed.

The unique vertical volcano that emerged from the ground immediately caught Bai Quan’s attention.

”A magma waterfall?”

The nearby staff member immediately locked the satellite onto the volcano and said, ”Yes, it’s a magma waterfall.”

”How could such a phenomenon, only seen outside, appear near the dome?”

The staff member’s face turned grim, clearly unable to provide an answer.

Bai Quan did not make things difficult for him, knowing something was wrong. He immediately took out a terminal and called another person from the geological monitoring department to inquire about the earlier question.

The other end of the call was instantly busy.

After a while, the minister from the geological monitoring department appeared on the call and responded to Bai Quan, ”The appearance of a magma waterfall can only mean one thing: an issue with the flow of the underground magma veins.”

”We are conducting tests on our side, please wait a moment.”

Bai Quan knew that urging them would be useless.

So he simply took advantage of the moment to have the control center staff begin checking the vicinity of the domes where the outpost was located, to see if a similar phenomenon—a vertical volcano, known as a magma waterfall—had occurred.

While arranging tasks for the control center staff, Bai Quan also notified several domes near the area where the magma waterfall was appearing, advising them to evacuate underground and await further rescue.

The precursors to a magma waterfall had already appeared, and at such close proximity, the dome’s protective capabilities were uncertain to hold.

Moreover, more than one magma waterfall might appear, and if something goes wrong, it could be a dire situation.

Just as Bai Quan finished arranging all the rescue teams, the geological monitoring department finally had a response: ”Vice Admiral Bai, we have the results.”

”Speak.”

”We detected high-frequency entropy waves underground, which affected the originally solid plates and ultimately led the underground magma to deviate from its path, directly leaking from between the plates.”

”Entropy waves?”

”Yes, entropy waves.”

Bai Quan frowned as he glanced at the situation on the satellite, with several thoughts quickly flashing through his mind.

Did Chen Ming’s research encounter a problem? Or was it an issue with the Purgatory Core itself? Is the Purgatory Core this powerful?

Regardless of the actual situation, it’s never wrong to rescue people first.

While Bai Quan was contemplating the reasons behind the current situation,

Chen Ming was busy on the second basement level.

Just as the signs of a vertical volcanic cone appeared very close to where he was located.

He promptly used his Spiritual Energy again, reinforcing several circles around the base of the first and second basement levels with his own materials.

After transferring all the research equipment above his laboratory to the second basement level,

Chen Ming was at ease.

Given the current situation, even if the entire volcano’s magma flowed his way, he should be able to endure it until Bai Quan realized something was wrong.

However, when Chen Ming refocused his attention on the surface, he saw two new large protrusions appearing once again amidst the magma surrounding the dome.

Together with the previously rising vertical volcano, they formed a triangular formation that completely surrounded the dome where Chen Ming was located.

Counting the previous one...

”Four volcanoes?”

Chen Ming glanced at another direction’s monitor.

Just at that moment, the earliest appearing vertical volcano far away from the dome had already completed its internal magma eruption, its structure melted by the high heat of the flowing magma, causing structural damage at the base and beginning to collapse.

The continually falling massive rocks, dotted with molten lava, delivered a tremendous shock to the ground.

This shock seemed to further provoke the underground environment, making the already incessant earthquakes even more frequent.

The earthquake seemed to stimulate the remaining three volcanoes as well.

The second vertical volcano, emerging after the already collapsed one, had rapidly approached the height of the initial vertical volcano in a short time.

Yet it showed no sign of stopping, as countless rocks and magma continued to surge from underground, continually raising the height of the vertical volcano.

Lava was continuously spilling out from side fissures of the volcano, crashing down and striking the dome from above.

The pronounced shock made it hard not to suspect whether the dome might crack under the pressure.

The third and fourth protrusions, which had only just begun to surface, quickly formed into two massive volcanoes within tens of seconds,

Throughout the process, Chen Ming’s Purgatory Core continuously attempted to dissipate the entropy within the volcanoes.
