Chapter 664: Chapter 202 The Empire’s Direction_3

”The instruments on my side are already open for you, you can use them yourself, she lost to you definitely wants to play a few more matches with you.”

Chen Ming didn’t think much and said, ”Sure.”

The importance of command technique he felt in that previous battle.

If he were Cheng Xinghai, he certainly couldn’t have accomplished everything before, he would have been crushed by his own unreasonable tactics.

Moreover, he could indeed feel that during an evenly matched battle, the honing of command skills was real.

Although the combat in simulation devices differs from actual combat, practicing a few more times never hurts.

Besides, apart from Bai Quan and Cheng Xinghai, whom Bai Quan now recommended, he really couldn’t find anyone else to spar with.

But Bai Quan is already busy enough to take time out every day to teach, and Chen Ming really doesn’t have the confidence to win against Vice Admiral Bai Quan in a simulated battle.

So he had only one choice left.

Bai Quan’s lips slightly curled, and he said, ”Then I’ll send her communication code to you.”

The next day.

Chen Ming and Bai Quan resumed their old routine, starting normal lessons in the morning.

However, unlike usual, Bai Quan came directly with a question for Chen Ming: ”Did you get in touch with Cheng Xinghai after yesterday?”

Memories of last night flashed through Chen Ming’s mind, and he said, ”Yes, but it was she who contacted me.”

Bai Quan immediately explained, ”After I gave you her communication code, I also gave yours to her.”

”I know.”

”She contacted me, and I talked with her for a bit, then she said she wanted to have another match, but I had things to do, so I didn’t agree, told her to talk later, nothing else.”

”I feel like she’s not quite like the girls in the army.”

”How so?”

”She’s a bit... too lively, quite naturally familiar, I feel like girls in the army should be a bit more composed.”

”Hmm...”

Bai Quan pushed up his glasses, not speaking further.

The first acquaintance with Cheng Xinghai, surely no one thought she could be so competitive, so... lively.

Chen Ming saw Bai Quan not speaking and asked, somewhat puzzled, ”What’s wrong?”

”Nothing, you’ll understand her personality the more you get in touch with her, I was a bit worried you might have a conflict with her, but it seems fine now.”

Upon hearing this, Chen Ming emphasized again: ”I said yesterday I wouldn’t take out my anger on anyone, even if it’s Cheng Xinghe’s sister, don’t worry.”

”Alright then, we’ll start as usual today.”

”Before we begin, there’s something from yesterday I need to tell you.”

”Come, let’s first sign a confidentiality agreement, just to follow the procedure.”

Bai Quan quickly sent an agreement over to Chen Ming, who, after checking and confirming there was no issue, signed it directly.

Then Bai Quan cleared his throat and formally spoke: ”It’s about the Gallo Star Realm.”

”I mentioned before, our Fourteenth Legion will increase investment in the Gallo Star Realm division, expanding influence.”

”Which means we’re going to take actions outside, starting from here, to deal with the foreign opponents blocking our external path.”

Chen Ming skeptically retorted: ”I know, didn’t you say so? Does this need a confidentiality agreement?”

”Do you think the Fourteenth Legion division has the capability to conquer this entire Dusk Star Realm out there?”

”No.”

Chen Ming answered decisively: ”The fleet here is just capable enough for guerrilla attacks to annoy Dusk, but outright action against Dusk is impossible.”

”Right, I think so too, but the Empire doesn’t.”

”Soon, the Empire will open a new battlefield in the Gallo Star Realm against foreign enemies, beginning total war.”

”Total war... why?”

”Because there are benefits.”

”The interests over at Dusk should be most clear to you, the Dusk core has excellent computational capability, and it can communicate on its own, plus a replica of a Kleitka Supercomputer, all are benefits.”

Chen Ming had almost forgotten about Kleitka.

A device capable of creating Dusk beings, even as a replica, it holds great value.

It is indeed a worthy target for the Empire.

But there’s one problem, which is that when Chen Ming left Dusk, he left many Dusk entities behind, although most were dealt with in the internal purge within Dusk.

Yet, to this day, some Dusk entities he controlled still survived and have been expanding.

Given time, he could bloodlessly control the entire Dusk Star Realm in his grasp.

And if the Empire acts against Dusk, it offers him no benefit at all.

Chen Ming suddenly recalled Bai Quan’s words from yesterday, saying the former part of the matter was related to him, and here is where the connection lies.

”Then what about the latter part?”

Bai Quan immediately responded, ”I haven’t finished the former part yet.”

”Because of you, the Empire altered its target, not acting against Dusk, but choosing to target the Mechanical Race Star Realm next to Dusk.”

”The effects of your Spiritual Energy we’ve nearly figured out, plus the major purge within Dusk after you left the Dusk Star Realm caught our attention.”

”And Dusk has retracted their colonies, looking as if they wouldn’t come out.”

”The reason is quite apparent, you did something over there.”

”The Empire has ample reason to believe you left a back door within Dusk, it’s just that because of Dusk’s internal purge and strict management, nothing has surfaced yet.”

”But your Dusk entities must remain in the Dusk Star Realm, constantly expanding, anticipated to need at least three years of spreading time to control most of the Dusk Star Realm.”
