Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 675: Chapter 205 Technical Test_2

Bai Quan spoke to Chen Ming, ”It’s about time, the matters concerning the Mechanical Race need to be discussed in the headquarters’ meeting room. I’ll help you connect the signal over.”

”When exactly does it start?”

”It can start anytime, everyone should have just gathered.”

”Then let’s go.”

Bai Quan operated on the computer in the meeting room, connecting Chen Ming’s communication signal to a new channel, linking it to a meeting room at headquarters.

When the signal was connected, the meeting room’s signal was first transmitted to Chen Ming.

Allowing Chen Ming to see that in this larger meeting room there were about thirty people scattered around.

Seeing this scene, Chen Ming immediately asked Bai Quan through the terminal, ”Are there really so many people? I thought there wouldn’t be many interested in Spiritual Energy in the study of the Mechanical Race.”

”Uh...”

Bai Quan, stunned by Chen Ming’s words, quickly replied to him on the terminal, ”Actually, there are quite a few.”

”The Mechanical Race possesses a large amount of items left by another civilization, which includes many Spiritual Ability Devices.”

”And so far, we haven’t been able to create devices that can produce Spiritual Energy effects without relying on Psychics, causing the Mechanical Race to sometimes exceed our expectations in the use of Spiritual Ability devices.”

”So people studying the Mechanical Race are more or less interested in Spiritual Energy.”

”Uh... also, although there are only thirty people here this time, the researchers and scholars studying the Mechanical Race at our headquarters could fill three to four meeting rooms.”

”We were worried that too many people would make you uncomfortable, so we only asked them to select representatives to come.”

Chen Ming immediately looked at the meeting room, which could probably seat about three hundred people.

According to Bai Quan, the Fourteenth Legion headquarters actually has over a thousand researchers related to the Mechanical Race, and possibly even more.

Bai Quan just said that the number who could attend could fill three to four meeting rooms, and those who couldn’t attend and had to stay at the research facility must be even greater.

So Chen Ming was indeed mistaken, thirty people is really not many, rather it’s somewhat pitifully few.

It can only be said that after all, the environment where Chen Ming spent the most time was the Pirate Space Station.

Although the people here basically have some understanding of the Mechanical Race and their Spiritual Ability Devices, in reality, not many have actually contacted the Mechanical Race and Spiritual Energy.

But the Fourteenth Legion is different, the military has an absolute understanding of Spiritual Energy and often engages in battles with the Mechanical Race, so naturally, there are more people who can contact them.

Just like if Chen Ming had continued on his original path, being just an ordinary person, he definitely wouldn’t have imagined how many people in the Pirate Space Station turned pirate because of crimes.

Only upon coming to the Pirate Space Station would he discover a bunch of people there are pirates.

Of course, they basically don’t have high bounties on them, and Chen Ming generally couldn’t care less about them.

And comparing pirates to the research scholars of the Mechanical Race is indeed somewhat insulting to the scholars.

In short, the kind of environment determines the kind of people.

Seeing Chen Ming had nothing to say, Bai Quan asked, ”Shall I connect you over now?”

”Okay.”

Once the two-way communication was connected and Chen Ming’s image appeared in the meeting room.

Chen Ming suddenly saw a familiar person in the meeting room, Shao Yang.

Although he looked like an ordinary researcher wearing a white coat with black-rimmed glasses, there was an unmistakable arrogance in his eyes.

Although Chen Ming didn’t see it immediately, just glancing over a few more times, that look couldn’t be hidden, so Chen Ming did notice him.

And Shao Yang also noticed that Chen Ming’s gaze through the meeting room’s projection screen was fixed on him.

So he nodded slightly to Chen Ming in greeting.

He was actually a bit surprised.

His research direction is mainly spaceship design, not specifically studying the Mechanical Race.

However, his interest and understanding of Spiritual Energy are greater than any researcher in the Fourteenth Legion, so he is quite interested in the matters of the Mechanical Race which are closely related to Spiritual Energy.

Hearing from a colleague in the neighboring research institute that the Fourteenth Legion had made progress in the study of the Mechanical Race and that a report meeting was to be held remotely at the branch.

He came out of curiosity.

As a recently joined Psychic of the Fourteenth Legion, Shao Yang still had this privilege.

Adding that the meeting was held by Chen Ming, Bai Quan, who organized this meeting, knowing that Chen Ming and Shao Yang were connected by Wu An, naturally gave him a backdoor.

As a result, when Shao Yang arrived, he found out that the one speaking at the meeting was Chen Ming.

This indeed surprised him.

But besides surprise, he also thought of some things.

Because in his view, Chen Ming appearing in the internal meeting of the Fourteenth Legion suggests that Chen Ming has also joined the Fourteenth Legion.

This is a good thing for him, as they both come from the Spiritual Ability Association, both Psychics led by Wu An.

They have cooperated before, and there are ongoing collaborations recently.

With this foundation before, they could completely engage in more exchanges afterward.

So he also took the initiative to greet Chen Ming.

And after Chen Ming nodded, he didn’t respond much more, nor was influenced by seeing someone he knew.

He began the report meeting on the study of the Mechanical Race as promised.

After the meeting room quieted down, Chen Ming organized his words a bit and said, ”The Hive Mind Network of the Mechanical Race is composed of Spiritual Energy.”
